How long do you want to keep convincing yourself that Darwin is capable of leading the Liverpool attack? We're both aware that he's only playing more minutes because he doesn't have any competition in that position.

Both should, because both have been crap. Nunez especially.

No, Jackson is a better finisher than Nunez, and he's only been on the team for a few months. This is Nunez's second season in the Premier League, and he has a lot of EPL experience. I remember some Liverpool fans willing to die on the hill to prove that Nunez is better than Halaand.I hope they've returned to their senses.

It is worth investigating how Benfica manages to increase the prices of its players. They got Liverpool on board for this one.

Not sure you remember Nunez getting all the flak actually, probably more widely criticised on this forum than Jackson.

Of all the forwards in Liverpool when fit, he gets the fewest minutes, so yes, there is competition.

Since we're cherry-picking, this season, all competitions (but I hate comparing goals and I have not watched Jackson so...):
Nunez: 8 goals, 8 assists, 28 appearances, 1543 mins
Jackson: 8 goals, 2 assists, 23 appearances, 1729 minutes

P.S. I like Jota leading the attack btw, not Nunez, whom I see as a foil. People used to say Firmino's return was shit but you really had to see him play to understand value is beyond goals + assists. Same role as Bobby, different styles. Jota's got more brains haha

Nunez looks like he is unblocked finally as he is contributing to this Liverpool team which for me it is a title winner during this season.I remember not many seasons ago,in the last two where he had a lot of problems scoring goals even from vicinity,big vicinity before goal and now it looks like he is fully synchronized with team.Salah is also doing a great job despite him being not so young anymore,these facts all contribute to the Liverpool team without forgetting Jota which is a great player too,Liverpool is the most completed team this year and I doubt any other team can take their title away from them.

Firmino was pure class to watch. His all round play was brilliant where ever the touch was made, whether it was a goal, an assist, a pre assist or just a regular pass.

Another striker that oozed such class was Berbatov. And this was not only during his breakthrough season at United, he was an all round classy player.

Bobby was amazing for us, a type of player you rarely see nowadays. If you offer that much, nobody will cherrypick your contribution, whereas Nunez has to score considering that's basically all that he's trying to do.
I like Jota as well, he's got incredible awareness for the game. Gakpo can be good for us too, but this season hasn't really gone his way.

Anyway - we're actually in a decent spot to say goodbye to Salah in the summer - especially because his departure will leave us with a shitload of money.

Is that something that is expected? I think he would make a mistake if he leaves Liverpool and would finish in a bout same way as Mane. Liverpool plays their own game and it will be big adjustment in any other system.

In case you guys got me wrong, I like Munez the least among all our forwards. Still miss Bobby deeply. I think Salah also spends his last season with us, unless he thinks we're ready next season for one more super push on all fronts.

The money will be too good to trun down, both for club snd man. He thinks of his family first, all our forwards from that era do. Mane and Bobby may be missing their old days, even Hendo and Fab, but they won't regret making moves for their family's futures.

Right then, Porto goal. Need to see that.  We're also on track to most outside box goals since Houllier and Rafa days... Gerrard was no stranger but now we have cannons in the feet of TAA, Szobo, Endo, Mac Allister, Jones, Elliott, exciting days. Lose the title I don't mind. Liverpool 2.0 are fun.

Yep, I think he wanted to go this year as well.
Liverpool will want to sell, we're not City so we have to balance the books. He's the best player on our team, but having him for 1 more season or having 100+ mil in the bank to replace him will be a no-brainer.
At least I hope it will - we need that money.

Porro's goal is nice, the one that haunts me is still Kompany's one. One of the nicest goals from a defender I've ever seen.

He is 31 so can be there for about 5 years still at the top level, or as high a level a professional can be in lower leagues. I see them paying between 100-150 million Euros if he plans to stay for a long time.

There were a lot of action in the FA cup during this weekend and the good thing,I rarely remember the games to come as predicted in such competition,all the strong teams have won their games and their odds were quite good,Brighton,Bournemouth,Newcastle,Sheffield United,all teams from the Premier League together with Aston Villa and Chelsea won their games,personally I had parlayed all these games and won good money,I also had Leicester in it and the total odd was about 31 so happy with the action of today.

Next week Premier League is back so not that much to wait for.

Neymar is certainly prime example, but there are others too

but those are prime stars near ending career, I am questioning decisions on some younger players, that have to prove themselves, and play as they are already near the end
and there are also solid examples, as Demarai from Everton, that was sold for some cca10 million, and plays solid for Al Ettifaq (at least fighting)

Salah is a bigger star there, he's Muslim and they can market much better around him.
He's also a true professional still in his prime. Ronaldo is a professional but not on elite level anymore and Neymar stopped trying to do his best 10 years ago.

Salah is exactly what that league needs, a statement transfer. That's why I feel that they'd pay 200 million without blinking.
I hope we ask for crazy money, for them it's all the same anyway.

There has been improvements in revenue and attention in the league over the last 3-4 years since they started this campaign to buy football pedigree. I am sure they were aware that it is a long term game if at all it will be successful, there will be no immediate results relative to the amount of money that is being invested.

Let us see how much changes between now and the world cup of 2034 which Saudi Arabia will by all indications host.

Yeah. Everyone they got they knew were in vulnerable positions. I think only Mane and Koulibaly were arguably the players most in their prime (age wise) but come nowhere near the starring longevity of everyone else they got. Salah would blast everyone out of the water, they need him the most.

Not saying it'll actually get them what they want (numbers of people attending games) though.

Well done Liverpool. Just finished reading some articles and I have to admit, I didn't think Liverpool would go all out. They played Alisson! Nunez starting is normal for cup, but keeper always rests according to Klopp philosophy so it's good to see them taking FA cup seriously. Arsenal are having the worst New Year ever man.

Arsenal, as a matter of extreme urgency needs to get a finisher.

Jesus and Eddie do not quite cut it for a title charge. The wingers are not as clinical as they were last season, even Martin cannot find his scoring form. Ivan Tony is a possibility. but I do not see it happening this January and I am not convinced he is what we need after 8 months on the sidelines, we do not need potential (there is a lot of that), we need results.

Full focus on the league and UCL now.

Moving to the Premier League was the wrong move, or perhaps it was too early in his career; he had tremendous potential but too weak to withstand the intensity of the Premier League. A player of his calibre should be playing behind the attacker to conserve energy, but his decision making is poor for that role.

I thought Chelsea was the issue, but he's proven to be his own problem. Arteta needed an attacker, and the only person who came to mind was Kai Havertz - a poor decision.

Saka is being overused at his age and there is no competition in his position to keep him on his heel.
