By the by - I'm thinking of opening a new Bitcoin exchange called OEY.GO (Online Exchange Yu-Gi-Oh), what do you think? I can't promise stability or long-term asset security due to mediocre programming and a lack of substantive audits, and my 'Cold wallets' will be somehow linked to hot ones making it somehow possible to drain them, but it'll be great!

i just dont understand why you would pay 2BTC just to have a coin added to an exchange that already makes a ton of money off of trade fees...

i just dont understand why you would pay 2BTC just to have a coin added to an exchange that already makes a ton of money off of trade fees...

The "bribes" are paid by large holders of coins that don't exist on any exchanges yet (or only exist on really crappy ones)

All coins are worth $0 until they show up on an exchange.  If I were holding 200M of some coin that wasn't traded anywhere yet, or only traded on some really crappy exchange, I might put some BTC towards getting it listed elsewhere so I could have a better chance at selling them.

Ok so there may be a problem with Kitteh, or maybe this is an overall BTC problem but if I didnt back up my wallet I would of just lost 40 mil Kittehcoin.

I posted what happened yesterday but Ill go into further detail. I made a transaction to another address with a completely up to date wallet. It went through just fine. Two hours later I made another transaction to the SAME address doing absolutely nothing different than changing the amount. The next day that second transaction had zero confirms. I thought this was weird seeing that it has been 12 hours. So I search for the transaction id on the blockchain and it didn't show up. The 40 mil was not in my wallet though. So where did it go?

Luckily I had a backup of my wallet and the 40 was still on there because as far as the blockchain knows it was never sent. If I didnt have a backup that Kitteh was as good as gone.

I hope that this was just me. But I just want to make sure that yall back your wallets up for more reasons than just security.

40 million is a lot...but i would say a whale is 100+ million. Even @ 100 million at current price you cant really drop the price too much.

Do you have a backup of your wallet before you sent the missing transaction?

I would like to see it used like BTC. but takes much time to get there.

The trade volume on cryptsy is crazy. Someone put up a fake sell wall that got eaten up at 19 Satoshis...bet he is kicking himself lol
