Here's an idea but I dont know if its possible.

Einsteinium, a great coin. Why? 2 % of all mining goes into a fund for scientific research,

So, as we know the POW/mining of mint has stopped now. But we could donate 2% of all future staked coins into the "mint foundation" for charity purposes.

Not sure if this could be automated in the algorithm of the coin?

It would make this coin even more unique and add innovation. No other POS coin has ever done that I think.

not 2 percent of your coins. Im talking 2 percent of the coins that are staked each 30 days..
Very little. Probably 5-10 percent would be better.

Understandable, but I doubt you would argue if it increased the value of mint price 10 fold. Anyway, just throwin it out there. Ill go back in my box now.

Lol +1

Also, a coin needs value to be of any charitable value anyway. Donate 2% of nothing all day, it won't do any good.

You know why I like Mintcoin? Because it's name actually makes sense. Own some, MINT some more...Einsteinium is an insult to Einstein.

Will the Mintcoin wallet have some sort of indicator regarding minting, similar to Blackcoin? See the little up arrow on the BC wallet here. http://imgur.com/9z7DxYQ

Ill be cashing half of my mint soon for investing into other coins.

I'm holding my Mint long term. If you plan to sell half your Mint, you should probably do it in stages. Even if Mint will to fail long term, I believe it will be pumped again soon.

Someone has been buying a lot of Mint at cheap prices for weeks now, and they will want to dump it soon. In order to do this they will need to pump. Contrary to what many believe, the person conducting the pump does not start the pump. The followers of the pumper start the pump. It goes like this:

-Buy a bunch of cheap coins.
-Tell a huge amount of people that coins about to be pumped.
-Watch those people buy up the coins
-Other people see rise in volume and price and start buying before they "miss the train"
-SELL the coins you bought cheap into existing buy walls and PROFIT. pump over

So we haven't gotten to step 2 yet.

I have sold 5 million in order to ride the wave of BC. I can buy back afterwards with profit.

Anyone knows how long it takes to stake at the moment, after meeting the coin age requirements.

It would be helpful if the stats in debug console showed your stake weight relative to the network like Hononickels and some others do

Sorry to see any users of Mintcoin exit so early, but if I may be a bit of an asshole... Good Riddance! We don't need short term people who jump at the next coin just to make a quick buck. It is this activity that is keeping Mintcoin prices down. For all of us who are in it for the moderate long-term, take heart in short-timers exiting. That said, good luck to you IconicExpert - nothing personal, but I'm happy to see you bow out so others can get your coins on the cheap.

I do not take offense to your comments, everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. I still hold a few million Mint and I was in it for the long term. However, it is hard to support a project when the developers are not publicly active. Mint might get one last pump but it will not go the distance like some here believe. Barley active developers, low confidence in the coin, and low sell walls that average 10 BTC. New coins with the same or better features are being released everyday and unfortunately Mint is being lost in the crowd.

I believe they announced 20% interest the first year so in theory with 1 million coins you should be getting about an average of 548/day. (200k / 365 = 547.9) That's assuming you keep the wallet running 24x7x365 and everything works properly as designed. It should gradually increase as compound interest comes into play, unless they somehow factored in compound interest which would be much more complicated... and I doubt they did.

And compared to normal mining, this is a really low output. I mined that million in a week or so, then moved again to other coins. When I started the wallet again last week, I got like 3k of my stake but then only 760 two day ago then nothing more.
If it is really onls 550/day and one has to wait 20 days before any stake I doubt, that many would invest in that coin to get a stake.

Well, that all depends on where the price goes. if the price were slowly steadily rising, then it would be a different ballgame. You can mint coins for next to nothing, rather than spending hundreds a month on electricity to mine - so it's passive income in a sense. But if the price keeps dicking around at 20 satoshis for months to come then yeah, this will be in trouble.
