So I think if say 10 years from now there is alot of transfering of coins through trading or spent by sending to businesses etc then the amount of coins growing that year may be less than 5% because of the 20 day delay after each transaction. The max growth would be 5% per year but in reality it would be much much lower as this is assumign there are no transactions and everyone is HODLING?

I think I got it right. Anyone?

That sounds perfectly logical to me. I would say you are correct.

well shit.

The question I posted a couple pages back about the block explorer not showing me the right balance in my wallet has me worried I wont get credit for the last 18 days some have been sitting there.
I've held some since the 7th, never transferred them out, block claims I did, but they are still there.

PoS is confusing.

Can we verify coin age via the wallet somehow?

That's actually a great idea! But in order to do that we would need to know the status of each coin I think in terms of age... if this is already stored in the blockchain through POS then it is possible to simply add the GUI hook to show the age... but im guesing its not as thats why its not done, probably not easy to do..blockchain bloat et al. I think long term that would be nice to have so users will know the status of their coins (investments).

This is really looking good for MINT

(1.) Moral happiness depends upon moral order.
(2.) Moral order depends upon the harmonious action of all our powers, as
individuals and as members of society.

Whoever is making MINT in MINT better buy the domain.  First person to cash out with profits of $6500 has to buy the domain name:  http://www.afternic.com/domain/mintcoin.com

It looks like that domain is no longer available for sale   http://www.afternic.com/domain/mintcoin.com

Hmmm.  Posted here a few hours ago and now gone.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a wallet upgrade after the minting starts, with some new features. There's a lot of scope for community developed tools for providing information such as this (coin age etc). The POS stuff sets Mintcoin apart and it's certainly something I'm excited about following.

@The owner of mnt.ALLPOOLZ.COM

Can you change or modify the token whitdrawal system.

I, for the life of me, cannot get the coins whitdrawed because every option is darkened - tried everything it's a dead end road. I cannot "Unlock" nor the Automatic Payment option nor the Manual Payment.

(I am aware of the "Spam folder" emails, but that's not the issue here)

Hashcows has them now, but they aren't currently doing it. Hashcows also has many users who autotrade to BTC, no idea what exchange they are using though.

Edit: Now they are on it again.

Second edit: Hashcows has about 2GH total to them.

1000 MNT Bonus per Block Finder !!!

Hi MaxMiners!  Ok.. bare with me, I'm completely new.  (I decided to try mining after I got owned buying MAX..).  So I got some cards, just a couple weeks late to the party Smiley  and I want to try mining MINT.  I got all setup and have been mining on this pool since last night (bobbyMint).. is it really that hard to pull in coins now?

I can see in the "pool" area, it showed like 90,000 MNT/day.. so this is an estimate I assume?  We don't actually get any coin until at least one of us on the pool finds a block.. correct?  (at that point it goes into the rounds/shares/etc to determine amount).  I guess I spent a few days mining MAX at 1gh and was consistently pulling same avg per hour and per day.. this is bc they are so huge and I'm normally part of new block discovery, where as 21 miners on maxminers - a lot less to split the goods, but much harder to find a block?  So it could be we get lucky and find 4 blocks in one day.. or mine nothing at all for a few days.. ?  Sorry for such newbie questions.. I'm trying to get up to speed as quick as possible.. I am bummed I didn't start at launch on either coin, I wonder if another will come along worthwhile to try..  In the meantime I hope to get some MINT.. so far in about 12 hours I've pulled ~10,000 MINT with 2.6M/h .. seems way short compared to the millions I've seen other state (which I"m sure they got by mining at the beginning and not starting late like me..)

Just want to make sure I understand, would it be good to try other pools, does it matter?  Is it all luck?

I won't ask the same wallet question as everyone else, because I am only running 'mincoind' from command line.  I does give me a wallet address, and does show my new balance after transactions - so I assume this is good (and "in sync").. is there any way for me to see when my 20 days goes by/etc from this, or do I need to fire up mintcoin-qt to get all the info?  While mining MAX I just setup wallet on an exchange, so this is actually my first experience with a wallet too.  Running ubuntu 12.10 btw..

Thanks for being nice.  I hope to be around for awhile more.. I have enjoyed reading all your comments and trying to suck it all in.. what a great time to start cryptos, right?  lol BTC scares.. MTGOX, MAX 51% due to 1gh pool, pump and dumps, etc ..  and btw, I bought 3btc of MAX at .01 .. yep, I'm a noob.  What is the next coin I can try to mine from launch that might be worthwhile?  TIT?  lol

Diff is already quite high, that makes it take a bit longer to get some coins, but once we find a block you'll get a good reward.

You are absolutely correct here, yes, it is an estimate and we were quite unlucky with our last blocks but should get more blocks soon as luck comes back.

Just want to make sure I understand, would it be good to try other pools, does it matter?  Is it all luck?

Yes it is the pools luck. A pool that is unlucky for quite some time should get luckier in the next time so I'd rather stay with a pool which was unlucky in last time than one which was very lucky - it flattens out over time.

You probably need a qt client for this, yes.

We're all waiting for Bitcoin 2.0 to come along, hopefully will be on that train.

We hope Mint IS that train! lol!

It could be Smiley Your guess is as good as mine buddy.

Look how long it took BTC to get all this attention and being accepted by some mainstream merchants.

Mint is way too young to replace BTC, one day maybe? Who knows but it is way in the future before BTC gets replaced by any alternative currency.

PoW will be replaced by PoS before any kind of mass adoption of cryptocurrency becomes viable.

MINT has the features needed to step in and take crypto to the mainstream. It's both investor and environmentally friendly.

Bitcoin is already a dinosaur because of PoW.
