About Testnet. Did you only shorten the periods or did you do more changes? Theres no way to fully simulate PoS+PoW progress with testnet unless you have same parameters and same hash power as in real. Im sure you know that. You can only test if the variables change as they are meant to be.

I said I would get back to you with clearer response from protocol consultant.

Here you go:

PoS+PoW is math. MintCoin ditched the difficulty based PoW reward system from peercoin. We are able to accelerate the timings and still vet out that the formulas are working as intended. The PoW is not dependent on hashpower/difficulty.

There's really no issues here that I see, they kept it pretty uncomplicated and straightforward unlike PeerCoin. I have a hard time seeing how it would NOT work.

Does anyone know if I use TRIXX to change settings e,.g GPU clock while sgminer or cgminer is running would i see the effects? or do I need to restart the miner to see if there is any changes to my hash rates etc

Also if I've got my cards at 673/693/692 kh/s and sgminer says total kh/s is 2.050 mh/s with a WU of 2000 it fluctuates but each time i work it out i'm getting aroudn 90% khs/WU but interestingly after 26096 accepted shares i've still no rejects.. should i mess with it.. i've never seen the miner with no rejected shares before... is that not good?
I don't know the first thing about mining so correct me if I'm wrong but those seem like some pretty sweet settings if there are no rejects.

I see some PoS blocks generated now, the mintcoin launched 20 days ago, some coins started generating PoS blocks...
http://mintcoin-explorer.info/chain/MintCoin

those blocks with diff = 0.0 are PoS blocks.

For example block 56699 is a PoS block, where 171.473424 coins generated as interest:
http://mintcoin-explorer.info/block/d9821f11960f114db9c58ce2272507c312fec441068bf5c28cf75a0e18def090

Can people confirm this in their wallets new MINT?

I can confirm, I got 3137 MintCoins added to my wallet.  Hoping I start getting 3000+ every 2 hrs for the next week lol.

My first two blocks didn't work, but now I've minted some PoS blocks, and it has matured. So far just the first two didn't work. 5 confirmed succesfully after that so far, hoping it was an isolated issue.

You think you're sad... I just got into this whole mining thing, and I'm currently @ ~480KH with my lowly 2 Nvidia 660's - Missed out on the launch cause I jumped on the Max train. (Of course, that's where I made enough to make it interesting for me - scored a block of 96 soloing, and traded @ .0045 - made over .5btc - that got my attention!)

So anyway - yeah - I'm getting sadder and sadder... lol!

Welll this is what i'm wondering.. the cards themselves are

677khs / 802WU
646khs / 624WU
697khs / 571WU

so I would think some improvements to the cards could be made, but over all its 2017khs / 1991WU  65008 accepted shares and still no rejects

any more thoughts?

it is normal you get some orphans in pos, as its diff is near to zero. There will be some competitions to get pos generated, so there will be orphans. With orphans your coin-days are not reset, so you don't lose anything. Your pos will eventually be generated, using the coin-days accumulated.

Does anyone know if I can add an .dat file to an existing wallet? I have some mint on a flash drive that I need to get into my wallet somehow without disturbing the coins already there, but I only have one computer.

Do not replace the existing wallet.dat file if the existing wallet has Mint coins. You will need to use another computer and a fresh wallet for that wallet.dat file.

Since you only have one computer you could send all the mint from the existing wallet to an exchange and then replace the wallet.dat file with the one from the flash drive. Then send the coins from the exchange to the wallet, but I think that will reset the PoS for you?

How many mint are on the flash drive wallet.dat file?

HoboNickels has a way to integrate another wallet within the wallet.

I have a little over 10 million MINT with at least 15 days of age, so I'd rather not reset that if I can.  If it's like others, I think i can just overwrite the wallet qt and not effect wallet.dat in appdata

Anyone able to confirm what I'm thinking is not insane? lol

That sounds right.  Just make sure you back up both wallet.dat files!!
