No doubt there are lots of scams in both crypto and our daily life. I find it difficult to eliminate the scams. I believe the only ways are to be very careful and share about the scams to educate people.

To protect yourself from scam you need to follow certain rules when choosing a project for investment, most of them have already been described in this topic.

actually its very hard to determine if a project is scam or not. these days almost 60%-70% of good projects which has a good platform has no trace of scam but in the end, after they become successful, they will abandon the project because they already got what they want.

its scam when its on ICO's part. So if you want to protect yourself from scam, stay away from ICO. When an ICO get listed on exchanges, it mean the project is real work, real product and real team. You can buy it on small exchanges before it listed on big exchanges and it can not be scam when listed

It is difficult for us to detect fraud, we can only learn to avoid and not believe in something that smells fraudulent. Be careful to always keep personal data do not get tempted something big thing.
Thats true it's difficult for us to detect fraud, before investing in one project, you should first analyze and find information the project you want to invest.  At least it can help to avoid fraud.

You can't correct a scam, once it is a scam it will remain as a scam and whatever that project has done, it will never be removed to the minds of their investors / participants.

Quote
How can we protect ourselves from scam?

- Don't invest to a random ICO.
- Don't be hungry with their airdrops that makes you send ETH to them when they ask.

You can protect your self in scammer when you not give your wallet password or what in other people who want to hack your wallet or your bitcoin password and be careful to other investment site because more investment site now is scam or we don't have a legitimacy.

I think it is very important that we have sufficient knowledge, we are skeptical and we are good investigators. It is vital not to be gullible in this industry. Scammers are very clever when it comes to fooling people. We should always be alert and skeptical about all the information being brought up by a project. ICOs are inherently risky because they are not regulated, making them vulnerable to fraud. Scammers offering an ICO will attempt to drive the price of the cryptocurrency up to a particular point, at which they will sell their entire interest.

My suggestion would be, do a lot of research about the campaign you are about to join. Identify if the admins are real and not just posers. Also the bounty manager has a factor too. If they have a lot of bad background then most probably the campaign of theirs are bad.

There is a lot of scammers are hidding right now. Another bad thing that the ico review site can be paid by these scammers to give a good rate to their project. The ico review site is undirectly supporting these scammers and it can't be tolerated. To analyze which is scam ico really difficult to do.

We can say that a project is scam when a project is unsuccessful or not paying. Its really hard to identify a scam project even it is reviewed by ICO review sites sometimes and most of the time, this projects are scam. Sad

It will be hard to filter a scam and a legit project because scammers are now being smart. They can now offer good potential projects with well written whitepaper which can attract investors to invest on them. To get rid of being scammed the only thing you can do is collect all information about them starting from the team if they are really the people on that said project because scammers will always hide their true identity and will use others to avoid being sued or caught. It will be a long process but it is for the safety of your investment so it will surely be worth it.

Maybe everybody who invests in the crypto money world we are in is asking this question. I think the consistency between the institution to be invested and what is promised is the most important factor.

Yes, it is true that the crypto world is vast and that there are a lot of scammers out there. There are certain red flags that we need to look out for in order to protect ourselves. The first would be to see if it is old or new, old ones are always the better options. And then we need to see the demand it has in the market.

In my opinion and understanding about it, scam will never be gone instead we must know and be careful on the things we are choosing to

investing it, for us to lessen the risk we encounter though in every business there is risk involve then where good that is bad was also there.

There are basic ways to detect or identify which ones are scam and which ones are legit. Learn as many as possible about what the project is trying to achieve and check if the team behind has the ability to achieve it.

Check the legitimate of their websites, roadmaps, whitepaper, and community.
Build up your experience and i think you can easily spot scams out of good projects.

It's very difficult to get out of them. There'll always be scams. But, it's our duty to gather knowledge so that we can recognize them sometimes.

Practically you do not protect yourself from scammers. People are so trusting that they are ready to give the latter for the sake of free earnings or multiplying investments. Therefore, it is so easy for fraudsters to deceive us.
