Scammers can be quite easily identified.
Really?

They usually have cheap sites with poor translation into foreign languages. They also have a small project team. At the same time, none of them holds public meetings with investors.
Most of scammers nowadays are really smart and smarter than you. Even though they have good design site and wannabe cryptocurrency team that looking so promising, the chance of getting scammed is really high these days. You can't believe anything in the internet.

It would probably be very good to defend oneself, but today there are very few normal projects and very little time in order to process all that is on the market today. It seems to me that today we still need to understand that projects definitely cannot be safe.

The best way to protect yourself from scam is to thoroughly check all the ICOs you are going to invest in, or check projects when you are going to participate in in the bounty campaigns..

It's actually very difficult to determine , for this you need to research the company very carefully , but usually if it's a bad team and a project idea , then it's a great indicator.

the problem is to find the new coin that can do a big % of price grow...we must look for coins that are not ico or bounty but people are too stupid for this....I regret I did not get bought coins like litecoin, vertcoin or viacoin when they were very very low in 2015...there is a good dose of luck of course, but you must always do your own researches...for example watch Elicoin in livecoinwatch , is not an ICO or bounty... it's a coin with low mc, low supply, PoW whit cpu, no premine, active dev...only trading it on CREX24 for now...do you own researches in the thread in bitcointalk: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3028302.0... people are too stupid for DYOR and got scammed by ICO or bounty...just my 2 cents...hope it helps...cheers

The best way to protect ourselves from scammers is to keep our self well informed and be vigilant. If we notice scams we must share it with others as well to help them not fall for scammers. Some people easily fall for scammers because they are too greedy. We must always read and acquire new informations to keep ourselves updated with the latest.

There are some preventive measures. You can improve your security level by making analysis and getting in touch with professionals.
Also don't disclose your data to 3rd parties.

in my opinion it's a very easy thing, basically we don't trust anyone here especially if you want to invest in ico because fraudsters now use fake names in telegram by saying if they are a team or use names that are almost the same as teams

Scammers will always be present in everything that is somehow related to money, and methods of fraud will always evolve, so it seems to me that this will not go away!

Yeah many scams ICO are now affecting real and legit ICO because nowadays many investors are now afraid to invest because they are victims of scam icos and its have a huge negative effect to the real ICO's because the trust of investors is not that strong, hope that scammers dissapear so the ICO will get better again.

The platform are not safe enough, even on the safest system also have some potential to get scammed. but overall how we avoid scam, that we need to make sure about three things minimum that is; 1. team behind it 2. the project 3. people (Expert) who endorse it. i think that minimum 3 things would made we are safe from scamming.

Be careful and do not believe when they promise to pay a lot of money. Although sometimes companies are really generous and want to sell a product as soon as possible, but this is very rare.

I read a lot about companies that are now announcing ICO and I can say that it is difficult to understand which company is a scammer. But I pay attention to the roadmap and the past of the company.

The crypto world is so vast and they are interest from all continents of the world. Some investors / projects came with good intentions to make the world a better place while some to defraud investors and projects founder. Can we have a better way correct scam and lapses?
I don't believe there's a better way to eradicate scam totally on the decentralized world even centralized system still get defraud some times. So my opinion is to be very careful as we should learn to avoid be lazy and careless most especially when it comes to reading. Always read and understand before clinking ok, keep your private keys safe do not use as wallet address.

Fraud is not to get rid of, always has been and will be. I believe that to reduce the number of fraudulent ICO, it is possible only if ICO projects will receive permission to conduct ICO. You need a special organization that will check everything, the team, the project itself, the distribution of funds, etc.
