If the token you bought goes down then do a research some of the culprits why is the price goes down it is because from bounty hunters and some early smart investors who bought the cheaper price than the actual ICO price and then research also the project if it has a good product read the white papers and roadmaps to see the potential of the tokens.

The ICO trend has changed over time. The way ICOs were handled in 2017 isn't the way its being handled in 2018. For instance, Now most people are in it for the flip. Not like flipping wasn't a thing in 2017 but It's too much. VCs have made ICOs unprofitable for the average investors. They're ready to dump their $1M worth of investment at 30% increase. Research well if selling at the time you were writing this is still a viable option. Usually people question their hodl actions after coins bottomed out completely already. I would go and ask yourself what would make the project value rise again short term. Is it purely the fact that the whole market is down? Then it will get back up again. Is it related to the project itself? Then I would consider selling only if a much lower bottom is on the horizon. But tbh, I bought in December/January (got a lot actually), my pf is still -80% or something. I didn't sell (only a few that came up in the mean while) and I will patiently wait until the next bullish phase

If its ERC20 or pre-mined, I sell right away. There might be some exceptions but from my experience, most of the said coins who dump don't recover well and die.
