So till the time when altcoin aren't measured in terms of bitcoin, the relationship will continue without any exception, but USDT looks promising if you want to preserve your coins in dollar value then you simply cash out them in terms of tether and when the market falls to bottom you buy coins and when comes back up you sell those coins.
