There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Are there scrypt ASICs out that aren't vaporware?  From what I've seen, they don't provide a significant hash advantage over GPUs, just power savings.

https://www.kncminer.com/products/titan Minimum 100MH/s Its around 100 X R9 290X
https://alpha-t.net/product/viper-scrypt-miner-25mhs/ updated version 90MH/S

And yes i will keep my 110k dope in my wallet but mining rig is moving to X11 or n-factor coins.

These are "preorder"

I repeat, are there scrypt asics that aren't vaporware?  I haven't seen a GPU killer yet.

Well... I would'nt call it "just" power savings, since power is the biggest expense for any miner. Its like calling a car that runs on sea water to be just fuel saving. Gridseed is already out for over a month and approximately matches the price/MH ratio of GPUs with about a tenth of the power consumed.

The concern was people's GPU rigs being completely outclassed in terms of hashing speed.  That simply isn't the case.

Pull your coins off cryptorush guys asap if you have any they got hacked.

Thankfully DopeCoin was not traded there and most users should not be affected.

Consider this a near miss and NEVER keep a big balance on exchanges or any other kind of online wallet or platform.

Be smart guys, don't be a victim.

Why isn't that the case? You cant take the hashing speed in isolation without adding the maintenance costs of electricity. If you do that then anyone can simply have theoretically a library full of thousands of 280x and say gridseeds cannot match up to my hashing power, etc The current gridseeds are like the bitcoin antminers.... its crap, but definitely a GPU killer when it comes to scrypt algo.
