Bitcoin has been so great and wonderful with price but however, it can't surpass gold because gold is a raw processing material which is precious in the sight of human. Also, we should not forget that bitcoin is just crypto assset which most people in the can not accept but gold is universal accept any class of people.

Agree with you bitcoin has much higher price than gold, I know gold is not having the value as bitcoin it is only because gold I personally don’t consider as good investment for myself, I know I cannot carry gold with me because of uncertain price to rise, also because of safety issue, we have online wallets for bitcoin but gold will have to keep at home, also it has higher price more than gold it is the only price which makes something valuable. |

Agree with you bitcoin has much higher price than gold, I know gold is not having the value as bitcoin it is only because gold I personally don’t consider as good investment for myself, I know I cannot carry gold with me because of uncertain price to rise, also because of safety issue, we have online wallets for bitcoin but gold will have to keep at home, also it has higher price more than gold it is the only price which makes something valuable. Right bitcoin is better than gold and gold has no such value as an investment for me and for everyone, bitcoin has good market value, it has safe features which can keep us away from scammers and gives us safety of an investment, I prefer investing in bitcoin because I am sure about its future and I know one day it will give me rewards for holding it. |

You know what's more expensive than gold ounce for ounce? Platinum. Rhodium. Should we then say these are much better than gold, or even Bitcoin? Do you know anyone who would buy platinum or Rhodium off of you right now? Or gold? I know over 200 people right now who'd buy my Bitcoin in the next 5 seconds on p2p. And that's not even with me looking for them hard. Don't believe me, try search for Sellers on localbitcoins.com. That's what makes Bitcoin better (among many other things!) compared to gold. Not its price. |

One replacing another will be injustice. One is physical while the other is virtual. Comparing them might somehow worth it as both are store of value. Both will remain forever as none of them can totally replace one another.

I doubt that bitcoin will be used for as many years as gold was used as currency/value(many thousand of years). For sure much sophisticated versions of cryptos will substitute bitcoin as important value. Maybe even faster than some folks here think. In less than 20 years bitcoin might still exist, but have zero importance compared to other cryptos. BTC exists, as long as there are nodes and miners running. But this does not define any value. Bitcoin is not the first eMoney and wont remain forever. Who talks any more about DigiCash? Gold will be of value probably as long as humans will exist. As history shows, the value of Gold had always been quite constant. |

Well we will need to consider the stability and the longevity as in short time it could surpass but will it continue to do so for the next say 10, 20, 50 years. For short term answer is yes it is the best option available as compared to anything else. |

More than the price itself, no doubt that I would rather invest or put my money in bitcoin. Yes, gold has been with us for many many years, even has a lot of use cases in the past as the best hedge for economic downturn or wars throughout history. But they, you can't carry them if you wanted to go to other countries. So I think in the next 10 years or so, bitcoin will really prove its point as one of the best assets or SoV, similar to gold or even better. |

As bitcoin is a volatile asset it reaches high, falls back and further grows. In such a way the cyclic process keeps going, same is with gold but the time taken by gold is far higher than that of bitcoin. This keeps gold to be an asset that gives an access for safer investment with low profiting. This way soon we can see bitcoin value to be double the value of gold.

No I am sure it will surpass gold someday, as we can see day by day bitcoin is getting more valuable in our system, it is getting rise in price and it gives us promising future, it has more safety and more value than gold,,. Having gold is not safe but having bitcoin in your digital wallet is safe for you and your family for better future, so gold is now losing value as an investment now. |

gold is now losing value as an investment now. No. very simple. The price of Gold in USD and Euro recently rose quite a lot, its not loosing. Actually gold keeps, Fiat looses. Over the centuries it did not rise in Value, after thousands of years you still get the same amount of Bread that you got before. So it is not and was never an investment for to make money. Its a method of preserving value for all time coming. BTC is a speculation and it has not found its accepted value, thats why its very volatile. Maybe one day it will find a more stable value. But for guarantee, it will not survive 1000s of years, just imagine if a situation and time like middleage returns. Wars, decline of culture,Loss of technology and knowledge. No more internet...if no huge decline happenes, still developpment will happen. Bitcoin is far too primitive to be of value in the next century. Gold will, no doubt. I am happy if BTC keeps and rises value just the next 3years. 3 Years are centuries compared to the real world. |

There are many differences between gold and Bitcoin, so I am not sure if we can compare them. Gold is basically a physical asset, while BTC is a cryptocurrency (and a digital asset). But people trust gold a lot more than BTC nowadays, so I think it is hard that it surpass gold in the future.
Agree, there is a huge difference between gold and Bitcoin, we cannot justify it because each one has its own requirement. Of course, some technical things will combine them but this doesn't indicate them as same and it is not possible for them which one has high probability. Everything based on the situation and their credibility. |
