You cannot use a freq of 1000 with cgminer currently! If you do you will see exactly what you explained...no submitted shares at the pool. Max is 950.
Be happy that you are getting more than the officially stated 300 Kh/s! Who promised you 400?
Not that I don't believe you: New version of dtbartle cgminer...I can tell because of the alternate voltage text ( source). It now "Support arbitrary frequency multiples of 25 MHz" ( source). Gotta love change....and the reason I like to compile from the source...who knows how long it will be until someone releases a windows executable of this version Consider donating to dtbartle!

HASHRA TO THE RESCUE! I have been authorized by HASHRA to announce.... New firmware for our controllers. Could these be the ultimate cure for our hash configuration woes? No more pissin around with tweak this, config that, change this, debug that....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Ladies and Gentlemen! I present 'our saviors'! Get your FREE firmware upgrades here! http://hashra.com/support/A little background via direct quote: "Our firmware "HASHRA CONTROLA" can be found here… hashra.com/support. It is based on CGMiner and we have also made all the source code public on our GitHub page, please feel free to spread the word about it. We were really aiming to create something that was stable, not just blast a whole load of hashing power if it keeps restarting etc. We are happy with what we have so far though it is still in continuous development. We plan to use this as the basis for our future products coming up and is designed for the Raspberry Pi. At present you can use it to mine SHA or SCRYPT though we are still working on the dual aspect… it is proving tricky but we are getting close to having it now stable… to get it you will just need to hit update firmware and it will update straight away. Using our firmware we recommend core speed at 850… should sit at just over 3.6MH for 10 units with no issues." Let me/us all know how it works out. I don't own a controller yet but,,,soon! I want to let all the bugs get worked out, then decide on which is the least hackable, least attackable and most stable controller out there. Peace on Earth folks! Wolfey2014 I've downloaded the hashra controla firmware and followed the guide for installing it on the sdcard. But Win32DiskImager can't install the img because it's too big for the sdcard (I've the oroginal 16gb sdcard formatted with SDfomatter...in theory it should fit) Instead flashnul.exe apparently write all the image on the sdcard but after that the sdcard is not readable. Have you tested the .img with 16gb sdcard or used only a bigger one?

Thanks anyway, I've redownloaded the image and try to write with a different software, I'll post here any result Managed to install the image with USBwriter http://sourceforge.net/projects/usbwriter/ (I'm on windows), at the end give me again an out of space error but the firmware seems to work good CAUTION: As the hasha guide mention on last page the web interface start with SHA256 mining selected so if you start mining a SHA256 currency be sure to have the proper power supply and not have disabled the fan in some way. (I know that who is interested in only scrypt mining dismount the fan, stack the miners together and use a smaller psu in order to save space)

should I even concern myself with this? I'm running 20 G's off a Pi and followed the directions written up my miaviator and I'm using cpuminer and my gs's have not hiccupped once in 48 hours. of course I do want to start dual mining very soon - like tonight - should I concern myself with this firmware, If so - I'll just run out and buy another 8 gb card bause the one I have right now is working great... wacha think? Not 100% sure, but I don't think they support dual mode just yet. The docs say future release but don't indicate which future release it will be, so I don't know if that's the current version or still in the future.

Gotta love change....and the reason I like to compile from the source...who knows how long it will be until someone releases a windows executable of this version Consider donating to dtbartle! nice waiting for a windows 7 version of this. although running at 850 i have 99.9 percent error free and get 345 or so. a gridseed not too shabby. but I see you are pushing 390-400

(I know that who is interested in only scrypt mining dismount the fan, stack the miners together and use a smaller psu in order to save space) Not sure exactly how much space is on a 16GB SD card, are they using the same math as storage vendors (1000 instead of 1024) it could make a difference. The size of the IMG file is 16009658368, and that is over the 16Gb limit if you are using 1000 as the divisor rather than 1024. It's 16.00965... GB with 1000 math compared to 14.9101... GB if you use 1024 math. Some people use the GiB to specify 1024 math and GB to specify 1000 math.

I have attached my Gridseed back to the computer where I had the COM: open failed problem. I still can't figure out exactly what does the magic, but here's exactly what I did: - My Virtual COM: port was COM11: so I tried again with COM11: => same problem as before
- Re-mapped COM11: to COM2: using the Device Manager (go to Advanced...)
- Tried again with COM2: => same problem as before
- Disconnected the miner, reconnected the miner, waited for about 2 minutes
- Tried again with COM2: => this time, it worked
So it might be worth trying this, although I'm still not getting it 100% This worked for me. Had the OpenCom error, unplugged, replugged, everything works. Thanks guys!

Ive also had to disconnect/reconnect the USB cable to get GSDs working... I kinda wish I had a "switched" USB Hub, kinda like a switched PDU, so I could disconnect/reconnect remotely while im at work...

Have you tried plugging your power supply for the powered hub into a switched PDU and tripping the outlet on and off to reset the hub? I have had 23 Gridseeds running off a PC for over 3 days straight no crashing. Ill posted a picture with this thread as proof. Cgminer is a little messed up and doesnt show more than 13 of them but i can confirm my pool hashrate matches what my cgminer shows

An update on the unmodified gridseed under linux.
I'm running cgminer on Linux Mint 13 32-bit on a eeePC 1000AH netbook connected to an unmodified gridseed. After ~20 hours of operation:
Normal settings, 900 MHz
A: 400384 R: 4096 HW: 6
CG hashrate: 381.6 Kh/s Effective hashrate: ~375.4 Kh/s

I have the latest firmware for the raspberry pi. It boots up to a command prompt that prompts for hashracontroller login: then password. I cannot find the default settings anywhere in the manuals or online. Can someone please help me out here? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance! Fyi, using the controller I'm running at 3.0 3.6 would be nice
