Hey fellas please help me understand how is it possible ?
"On average, each algorithm has the same chance of finding the next block."
Isn't the chance of finding next block mainly belongs to algorithm which has the lowest difficulty ?

Vnezapno: My understanding is that each algo has a target of 2.5 minutes, and they're all out of sync by about 30 seconds. So their difficulties are irrelevant. If one algo gets a spike in hash rate the block will be found faster than 2.5 minutes and I guess it's theoretically possible it will be ahead of the algo scheduled to find the next block? But no, the coin with the lowest difficulty has no chance to find all of the blocks. It will always average out to close to 20% of the blocks per algorithm.

Nope, algorithms have no idea that there are other algorithms on the chain, they each target a 150 seconds block so divide that by 5 and you get 30 seconds average per block on the whole chain. it's nice Cheesy

Hey guys,

Just to let you all know, we have our skein pool up and running (exploit free). Come and join svennand - he's kinda lonely! Cheesy

0% till next weekend!

If there's sufficient uptake, i will get our US stratum configured for skein too.

https://myrsk.nut2pools.com

Enjoy.

Nut

So have you ever done a facepalm that was soooooo big that you pinch yourself to see if you are awake? Like those dreams where your at the office nekkid and you think "I MUST be dreaming"? Well, i just pinched myself and i'm definitely awake...  Whilst i'm not naked at the office (i have my boxers on) i DID forget to open the firewall to the public!  Shocked

I saw a load of users had registered and thought "why the hell would you register and not mine??" DOH!!!! Then i remembered i opened it up just for Svennands IP for testing purposes.

So, i'll try again - SKEIN POOL OPEN (now with firewalls opened and everything!!)  Grin Grin Grin

Ill switch over to you guys for a while at least to spread the hash around Smiley I got like 6,000-7000Mhash with Skein so yayyy.

Myriadcoin - the first multi-PoW blockchain! (Mine with SHA256 [ASICs], Scrypt [GPU/ASICs], Skein [GPUs], Groestl [GPUs], OR Qubit [CPUs/GPUs]).

Devs, could you update to OP page and add myrsk.nut2pools.com (skein algo, 0% fee atm, 1% later on.)

anyone willing to help me beta-test my python switcher?

please shoot me a pm

Hey, some decent points being discussed here about your algo switcher: http://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/255xxt/myriadcoin_sneak_peak_of_autoalgo_switching_gui/cheliwj?context=3

Right now it switches algos by starting/stopping the different miners. If/when there's a multiport pool for every algo, I can tweak the switcher to switch pools in the miner
But yeah, the miner needs to know which algo to run for each pool/port.
I don't even know if the miner can swap algos seamlessly, if that's even possible

So I basically need to change "kernel": "groestlcoin", to "kernel": "myriadcoin-groestl", correct? I assume the -k is kernel setting.
