py wallet (search for it) is a python based program which starts a local server where you can examine wallet contents and dump private keys etc etc

$MAID & $BTC other than that some short hodls and some long held garbage.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in
Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it
will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Thanks, it sounds better than notepad, but it also sounds a bit more complicated than an editor.

Don't forget that your coins are stored in the blockchain and not in your wallet. The wallet is only a software allowing users to access or to move their coins.
Not true. The blockchain doesn't store your private keys, your wallet.dat does. You need the privkeys to retrieve funds. I wrote that coins are stored in the blockchain, not the private key. Well there are no coins at all. Only unspent outputs of variable size encumbered by a set of conditions specified in a script. Still your abstraction is closer to reality. Yes obviously ! I hesitated to correct my post and to write something like "your coins balance is stored in the blockchain" and I would agree to say "your coins balance, inputs and outputs are stored in the blockchain"

I have been promoting for weeks now! SOny! you never stop promoting. when you stop then its done! I won't stop till I'm satisfied! Hop on the train, or get off! Its up to you! I'm promoting this full speed! Dude.... I understand your enthusiasm, but advertisements work by creating interest or awareness and possibly leading to the sale of the intended product/services. Right now the coin cannot be bought on any exchanges and you are losing the precious eyeballs that will not come back. Its like GM advertising a car that is currently being recalled. The only awareness they would be getting is more people being aware of the flaw in the car and potential buyers striking that car off their "to buy" shortlist. Advertise when the coin is fixed and available. Advertising this right now is counter productive because you are advertising a broken product. nope you are wrong. the game is still in the works. and the coin is being fixed. there is nothing wrong with hyping. learn some promotion knowledge. We need to get the word out there. the coin will be back shortly. companies promote movies, games and everything months before release. just because you cant buy the coin or play the game. Hey, Guardians of The Galaxy is coming out in august. lets not promote that disney because its over 2 months away. LOL... ok Finally the point has been driven in! Its really awesome when that hits you doesn't it, Sony? lol ha ha ha.... either that or I simply decided I couldn't be bothered to discuss further and waste my time. Hey.... free world n all. Advertise away

While having another switchover I think it would be a great idea to implement some sort of anonymity (CryptoNote i.e.) as we see improvement of these features in Monero. Darkcoin seems to have some kind of anonymity implemented also, which seems to make these coins rapidly grow lately. I personally think anonymity is most important for users/supporters/buyers of cryptocurrencies nowadays since cryptocurrencies become more or less a political issue when it comes to regulation. This puts supporters in an awkward situation here. Maybe you want to recommend this before switching NC2 to whatever

UPDATE 5/19/14: I AM GOING TO FINISH UP THE NEW CODE AND WE WILL THEN START EXCHANGING OLD COINS.
2. Include a copy/paste of your old wallet address and copy/paste of new wallet address. ( Obviously as soon as you have the new wallet.)
Ok...start exchanging old coin...but...if the new wallet is not ready that we must new address to send?
