I don't see why the entire 7M surplus wouldn't be destroyed.

Once the game is out people will be using c2s to buy items from the game and it has been said once by KingArbin that this is their plan.

They plan to destroy more and more c2s which they receive by the players in order to help increase the value in long term.

Also, i think C2 should have its own multipool right now because using a 3rd party to handle payout isn't as efficient as setting up buy walls and strategic buys.

The way these multipools works is they go and buy directly from the sell orders which have a big gap between the buy and sell orders.
Have som1 make a c2 multipool which will be handled by a board member.

My strategy would be to use something like 10-15% to set up buy walls and the rest to buy up directly from the sells in order to give a proper payout to the miners. This will eventually keep on creating bigger payouts for the miners even if the buy walls doesnt get sold into , it would mean the price is increasing from the point the multipool has made their purchase.

I explained this really quickly but i think you guys got my point.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I agree with you and indeed we should have own multipool

How many people here are actually mining C2 on a multipool right now? Post here if you do. With hashrates if you're willing. It would be good to get an idea of numbers.

It's difficult to know at this point whether diverting resources to producing a multipool would be worth it for the team and the coin.

I'm in with 265 KH

Not much but every little helps. Will mine until game released but not sure about after that as servers needed for other things.

Hi, one question...but the surplus coins ( CVeCYv39eqLGAUWe3xxMhP6gF39jgbgZ7i - 6 846 881.540817) what are?  Huh Huh

Funny you should mention this. I brought up the idea of burning some or all of the excess coins with some members of the board just this morning. They seem open to the idea. It needs some more thought obviously as there are other factors to consider i.e they may need some for a few bits of extra development and what not.

I'd be interested to hear what you all think of this idea. The board members will listen to you if you express your opinions.

Just a thought: Why not let the surplus coins stake till eternity and pay every "Chain of Conflict"-player a bounty for playing? This bounty could be based on the stake the surplus-coins generate.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the main goal to get people interested into a game that kind of "pays" you for playing? Of course people are spending coins to buy skins & weapons and will lose/win some coins by betting or even might stake more coins while playing than "just" keeping it in the wallet. But don't we need some kind of starters-kit for new users? Not everyone is willing to "buy" coins just to start playing. But if we give them some starter-coins, they might get used to the whole coin-process and might even buy some on our exchange.

My question is: Where will all these giveaway-coins come from, if not from the surplus-stake?

And of course we need lots of work to be done and for this, some bounties are needed. This is all imho and without further knowledge of the structural plans for "funding" the game.

I agree, not sure how destroying currency like a fiat government is going to help. these coins should be used as the above. good ideas JT Smiley

Glen im all over that idea. It wont be so easy to get casual gamers into the crypto thing going on. A bounty of coins to be used to get people involved is a great idea. Ive talk to some gamers about this and almost every reaction so far was " whats crypto currency? "

We do take for granted the idea that everyone knows what it is but the reality is quite the opposite.  And its very tough for people to spend money on buying C2 to play when they dont have the first clue on what crypto currency is.

This is an excellent idea.

Also what is needed is a dedicated team for admin support for such things as explaining what crypto currency is, help newbs to set up their wallets, etc. That is going to be the hardest hurdle.

Also i know I (we) all can be very sarcastic at stupid questions but if we want people outside our crypto community to join we cant deter them with our little comments.  (Even though its fun).

Either way im in favor of keeping those coins alive for newbs.

Maybe something like poker sites that give you a little free to start up. Then people will get hooked.

depending on the costs of playing and how it will be charged exactly, having an in-game faucet would solve most of the problems, like in the lobby or something, pays out small amounts enough for the ability to win more if you are skilled, and not too much that it can be manipulated to a great degree, if you have a certain amount of C2 already in account it wont pay out any. but also allows people to get free coins and get practice and refill a few more times to get the hang of it.

+100 on this!  Many people want to join and there's nobody to really help them.  I haven't completely dug around the coin2project site, but is there a "instruction manual" somewhere to guide total noobs?

I am all for the idea of small giveaways to get people started. Thats why I wrote that the devs should keep some of the surplus coins. Right now we are talking about 7M coins. If we assume that the price will be higher once the game is out and succesfull, we are talking about 35BTC @ 500 sat and 70BTC at 1000 sat. At current prices, we would speak about 45000 USD for giveaways. Seems too much for me, though I really have a hard time figuering out how much would be realistically needed.

If the surplus coins are also needed for game development the amount not to be burned might be higher. If all the 7M coins will be needed - fine, but then I would like to know what for. I would like to see a rough plan how much will be spend on what. I dont like the idea of just keeping them, because we have them and might need them for some unknown task in the future. I know that its common to have a premine to a coin and justify it with "future developments", and 1% would be fine for that. But right now the surplus coins are 7% of the supply.

After all, the surplus coins are part of the inflated supply, so they are (partly) indirectly financed by the investors who bought a coin with 60M total supply. Please lets not forget this.

It helps by creating confidence that the person with control over the coins won't just transfer them to an exchange, dump them, and run of with the btc.
Happens all the time.... And that can't be done if the coin is destroyed.

Also, by reducing the total supply of coin, the worth of all holders increases.

If coin is kept for bounties, it should be stored in escrow or multi-sig so one person cannot make off with it.
It's about increasing investor confidence.

Really like that idea JT. Keep 'em coming.

Thx, here are some old ideas for game-modes. I'm sure they are already planned but maybe 1 or 2 aren't in the loop. I don't know how much work is needed to get this ideas in the game, therefore this is all just brainfarting.

1. COINS FOR KILL (DEATHMATCH / TEAM DEATHMATCH):
Everyone on its own or as a team. Everyone is in with its own money, if you get killed your killer gets your money. As a team you throw your money into a team-fund, that pays for the deaths of all teammembers.

2. CAPTURE THE FUNDS (CTF):
Every team has a terminal. Each team tries to reach the enemies terminal and download the blockchain (or team-wallet maybe) on an usb. Then this usb-stick has to be returned to the own terminal (or team-wallet), where you have to upload it. Simple capture the flag but works well in a crypto-theme. Just imagine how pissed you are if you see someone run away with your whole teams funds.

3. 51%-ATTACK (CONQUEST):
Everywhere in the level are terminals (or laptops etc) with wallets that have to be connected to the net / synchronized. The team that gets 51% of the blockchain once all nodes / wallets / whatever are online slowly transfers coins from the other teams wallet to their own teams wallet.

4. BLOCKCHAIN (RUSH):
One Team is the Defender of all Terminals, the other team has to get to the terminals in a particular order, they have to start with terminal 1, download the genesis-block, go to terminal 2, mine the coins, go to terminal 3, secure the blockchain and finally on terminal 4, go live (whatever that means). Its a "kind of" story-driven game-mode.

5. CRYPTO WARS (SQUAD DEATHMATCH):
Up to 4 teams / squads fight with their teams funds against each other. They have to work together because every kill costs them coins from their squad-funds.

Jan you are a f***ing genius!

(also expect a pm from me in a bit)

I see all those xx** coins which are traded at massive gains, but C2.1 still dumped time after time... Where is the catch? Pump and dump or those coins realy have the value in roots. Ok, new technologies, privacy, anonimity etc. C2.1 still have one of the largest dev teams, if not the largest. For example VOOT coin got a gain from app. 50 sats to 1500+ sats. I bought and sold at bottom and now regret not waiting and buying in C2.1 to get to top 20 list.
The game will boost value of coin massively. Ok, talking about half a dollar per unit now seems science fiction. Of course, latest mainstream functions implemented into coin can warp the coin to skies. This is not the main course now for C2.1, but I still believe that crypto world is only about pump and dump, what from I am afraid about this coin.
After CoC beta release, coin needs some of the latest tech implemented. I think this is mandatory to keep the value at healthy level till full game release.

The idea about surplus coin distribution to newcomers-gamers is awesome. It's like welcome drink at party, and who don't like drinks for free! :d Even more drinks that gives you a chance to get another one. Great!

I think blackCoin has one of the biggest Dev teams. they were even at Bitcoin in the Betlway. saw some interesting interviews with them.

also Reddcoin too. I think ours is right up there with them as well.

Also Coin2 is one of the few to actually pull the curtain back and show the wizards behind the scenes. you don't always see that lately. Smiley   I admire Coin2 and Blackcoin for showing the faces and names.
Shows their dedicaton, and should show the naysayers who say they are a scam.

The topic 'destroy surplus' was in my mind before holidays.

But, my mind was clearer in quiet environment, especially when my feet were in cold water by the river.
...Look at all perspectives and angles, destroying surplus will actually do nothing to help coin value...
True, price of coin will increase in short term, but it unsustainable and will back to square one. Didn't we already in the same price range or even lower in Coin2 (ver 1) then Coin2.0 (ver 2)? 50 mil @ 200 Satoshi range an 60 mil @ 300 Satoshi range?  What make us think 100 minus 7 will change the net-value of Coin2.1? Again, temporary may see 50+% increase from current range,  but I could guarantee the bubble will burst. Aren't we all invest in this Crypto with passion hope it'll become a coin with sustainable value of minimal 0.10 US cents (dime) to as high as above US$100 instead of pump and run with less than a misery quarter of penny? Just don't make sense.

I think that I've a better solution, just need to redefine by inputs.

Reasonable inventory of coins is not main issue if a coin has a down to earth discipline management team and hardworking creative development team work in sync, with marketable unique product or services.  Let me remind you  if not mistaken), NXT and Quark has more coins amt than Coin2.1, with values @ 10+ fold. My old brain is deteriorating, could produce exact # and always mixed thing up...lol

I'll discuss details with Glen and Jan. If both of them like the idea, Glen will present it to the board members obtain an approval.
By the way: I prefer certain degree of  transparency on issues and ideas discussion as a whole within community instead of FB, except final decisions making and internal top secret agendas.

Oh! I'll also interested to persuade current Coin2 members to divide the board into 2 teams. For clearer and purpose

*Development and Research: Kalisto, N3lzon, KingsArbin, UdjinM6, Roslin
*Public Relation and Communication : Glen, Jan, Blitzy, Nrigo, Vernom..

Everyone remain same doing what they are doing work along side the team without overlapping, simplify, reduce workload and foucs one priority area 1 at a time.
