Can I asked why all the hate...i thought hackers never show face? Something doesnt seem right with this...and tx just wondering, how would you have kept the coin circulation at 60 mil after the coin got attacked? Honest question. How would we have repaid everyone on minty? I wasnt one of them but I sure wouldnt have wanted the devs to leave me in the dust. Maybe its my rudamentry understanding of this.

Actually that is a very valid question and i was in panic mode until bittzy brought up that kalisto had applied rat4's fix to the new source, and yes I would like to know also how we would have dealt with mintpal, since the attack would have left us with a negative amount of coins... TX42 explain this and I might not call you a dumbass..

They can also be used for some big time bounties once the price recovers a bit.

Nothing has happenedThis was a misunderstanding You can see what happened in the exchanges, Of course no one will believe this coin again, Untill there will be some development and new programs to bring it in the market, 2 Attacks and still more chances are the main point no one believe this coin so what are the further planning to make this coin stronger and safer, By the way 50 Mil coins to 100Mil is also a bad part to fall the price

@alivecrypto.....yes 50 mil to 100 mil was not the intention. It was a mitigation to the fact the coin got attacked....and as with everything the believers at the ground floor of any enterprise gets the most reward in the back end. Of course they r the ones to pose the most risk.....its called risk/reward...people are selling because they cant handle the inherent risk. To see what these gentlemen ( and ladies venmo;) just kiddin ) have taken on is more than enough to show me they r in it....the ship was sinking and they baled out the water until the ship righted itself...all of them could have walked away leaving myself and a bunch of others (including a REALLY pissed of eastward) high and dry...you may run... I wish to stand right behind them until this succeeds or we sink down to the ocean floor...
Time for bed

I'd be interested to know if you have been contacted by the devs about this problem--you know, the ones who think it's cool to bump the money supply by 67%. Please let us know.

First of all, mintpal is responsible for their own security. Second, block chain analysis shows exactly when the attack was done. Mintpal didn't discover the problem until about 2 days later, which shows lax security. Mintpal is responsible for the lost coins, not the devs, even if they were unwilling or unable to properly secure their coin. Since the attacker is watching the thread, he can confirm that the reported date of the attack (May 16) is 2 days after the attack was successful, which concluded on May 14 in the afternoon (USA Central time). I was watching with interest at that time because C2 froze on Polo and then I was interested in what the attacker did. I figured it out by blockchain analysis. It probably would have been quicker to find his post on the thread where he said exactly what he was going to do. LOL Second, if it came to the choice of launching a new coin with 67% more coins or rolling the chain back before the first successful attack on mintpal, I would have rolled back the block chain. I mentioned this to Joel and he said it was too much trouble. If I had enough stake in this coin, I would have done it. It wasn't worth my time because I didn't have enough stake in the coin, even though I was on the rich list, barely. Other attacks came on May 9, early morning and mid day (USA Central). The attacker can confirm all of this. If worse came to worst, I would have no problem sending bag holders to work their problems out with mintpal. Mintpal should be able to secure their interests without passing their failings off on the users. If it came to the point where mintpal would drop C2, that would be preferable to inflating the money supply 67%. Anyway, the attacker pointed out the holes and said he wasn't going to grief this coin anymore. You guys can keep believing that a 40% devaluation of your currency is OK. The hole is still there, so you have only yourselves to blame if you get punked again by another attacker. I'll have fun watching when he does it. I promise, it won't be me.

so it is you...we know who you are.... we saw your chat conversation with joel regarding on rolling back the block chain...
if you have the solution why not move forward and talk to us instead of telling us this after all the hardwork we have done?
so you prefer people with C2 on mintpal not to have their Coin2 back? thats a bit selfish dont you think?...we exist because of the community...

No mintpal would rather the users not get their value back. That's mintpal's responsibility. It's not the responsibility of the other users to reimburse those who have lost money at an exchange. And was that really 67% of the coins? Really? I call BS. Someone got a lot of C2 for nothing and it needs to be burned. This reeks like big banks and government bailouts on the backs of taxpayers, and bonuses for the robber barons who pulled the strings to make it happen. I'll help if there is some plan in place to reduce the money supply closer to what it was. If that plan continues to meet resistance, I'm not going to help.
