I just voted for Zeitcoin at BTER. We are now in 8th position out of 256 coins with an amazing 16,423 votes.

BTER seems to have some major issues right now:-

Quote
We have to suspend all our services waiting for the security check. More information will be released as soon as possible. Sorry for the interruption.

There's nothing on their twatter feed about it.

Update:-

OUCH! (?)

I just saw that too. Hope they get their issues worked out soon and this doesn't end up being another Mt. Gox/Mintpal/whatever the name of that exchange was that tried screwing us and Blackcoin over (I forget what it was called).

I think you mean http://cryptorush.in , which is actually back online under new ownership, and attempting to pay back the losses incurred under previous owners. Maybe you guys should ask poloniex.com if you can get on as a trading pair with XMR. They use XMR as alt trading pair for lower value coins (and some others) rather than LTC, might get ZEIT some exposure to people who otherwise wouldn't see it.

Yep, that's the place. Thanks! Where are you getting the information from that they are trying to recoup the losses from the previous owners? I personally didn't lose anything with them, but I know there are several people who lost some Zeit who I am sure would be happy to get them back.

The guys who run/own it now are always in #cryptorush on freenode: KingDragon, X3n0X, and JCJr222. They have also put some info up on the website about how they intend to pay people back (Cryptorush bonds). I think Zeit wallet was drained, so if they had a ZEIT balance, they will probably just get the Cryptorush bonds if they sign up on new website.

Apparently they haven't been bugged about ZEIT enough to try and load up their wallet and check though, if you look at the status here: https://cryptorush.in/status_old

It says the database balance for ZEIT was nearly 2B coins tho Shocked

Just saw the news about BTER. Seems I took a hit. I hope not too many others were affected. We were warned. Here's the latest on what BTER have to say on their website :-

7170 BTC got stolen from our cold wallet in this transaction:

https://blockchain.info/tx/f5b0363f03e1ed8bb812c135361ea93590c831ce9f13a3750be1b93575baccc6

720 BTC bounty for chasing it back.

All wallets have been shut down and withdrawals of the unaffected coins will be arranged later.

Question 1: If it's a cold wallet, how can the coins be stolen?

Question 2: Are we fated in that just as we get to the top of a coin vote poll, the exchange closes down!? We were at least 8th out of 256 and rising faster than all the other coins on BTER.

Yeah I think our trust of CR was obliterated and it is going to take a lot to earn it back.

That was a lot of Zeit! Wow!

We can hope! I'm saving up as many Doge as I can to trade in for Zeit on our 1 year anniversary!

Server Address - 87.112.161.175

NOTE - This is an hour earlier than I posted yesterday.

The server is actually online now, but I won't be active until the stated time. I think it's my ISP that's preventing a static IP being held but no biggie, really.

I suggest we stick to the same format as last week i.e. a general chit-chat & 'get to know each other' session & only start the 'serious' Knight-work after the application window closes, or the maximum of 15 Knights are confirmed - just to be fair to any late-comers Wink

I hope that at least some of those who missed the first session will be able to join in with this one.

@Lion,
Might want to post where to download the team software, and a few simple instructions how to connect.

Thanks.

 Cool

http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads

Install, run, Menu > 'Connections' > 'Connect' > enter IP & PW, done Smiley

Though running the setup wizard - Menu > Settings > Setup wizard - is probably a good idea.

I've just seen this Cointelegraph report on the BTER hack:- http://cointelegraph.com/news/113494/bter-gets-hacked-for-175-million-in-bitcoin Some speculation that it was an inside job. Second time it has happened. The cold wallet thing was picked up upon.

You mean like coinex.pw - known too well to all these who are with ZEIT from the beginning?
Personally, it wouldn't surprise me at all. Also timing of such a news is more than appropriate, as BTC was slowly setting the ground for a rebound.

Don't rub it in! Does anyone have a screenshot of the BTER vote - old, or new? I have an idea.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/daxw12ifcf21wey/Coin%20Voting%20-%20Bter.com%20.zip?dl=0

Unzip it and then double click on
Coin Voting - Bter.com - Bitcoin and Crypto-currency Exchange Platform.htm
It will pull the graphics up from the other folder and should look normal.

Best Reason in the world to be on Multiple Exchanges, as you never know when one will implode.
Also a reason to limit the amount of coins on an exchange to only a small amount at any given time.
Strange how the exchanges with alot of chinese exposure are getting zapped at the moment ,
crypto-trade and now bter both offline.

No Matter, ZEIT marches on ,
For all that have a Bleutrade account , please submit a support ticket asking them to add zeitcoin.
For all going into Zeit voting withdrawal ,
No Worries,   https://hitbtc.com/vote
Free Voting, don't even need to sign in, they just limit 1 vote per ip address.

That was fast!!! I extracted all the information that I needed and it was all smack bang up to date. Thanks. I'm amazed at the ability that our community possesses. I bet that there are lots out there who don't know what's going on with BTER. The more that know what has happened the better - so that we can somehow act together to stop this sort of thing happening in the future. An altcoin council perhaps?
