I think there was a giveaway long time ago before the launch of this coin. Can someone remember the link and the way to redeem the claimed free coin?

Now it is a asics coin. 3 asics are mining it now.  GPU is nothing at this hashrate. No algo changes possible, no devs... no site, only dreams ...

Any suggestion about another good algo?

Should at least start a new thread and take "ASIC-proof" out of the title, since knc Titans have been hashing scrypt-n for quite some time now then. (I say start a new thread because I'm pretty sure original dev has long since abandoned ship and no one can change this one anymore.)

Neoscrypt is OK, but multi algo seems to be all the rage lately. The originator, myriadcoin, is still chugging along, and recent converts include verge, Aurora, and anoncoin. Even theymos mentioned multi algo as a possible solution to Bitcoin's ASIC issue recently.

How is this coin still alive? Did someone take over development?

The community has not given up that's why. There's no take over yet we're still using the same old Execoin wallet.

I see. Here's hoping for a take over. It's a solid coin, would be nice to see some developmental incentives to push things forward.

are you one of current ASIC miner ?
yes scrypt-n works, but as soon as ASIC miner will leave, difficulty will be too high for GPU/CPU.

and dropping scrypt-n is necessary if we want follow original purpose of this coin.

Yes, I am one of the current miner, but not the main one) My hashrate is small compare to others.

About the difficulty it will drop down as soon as ASIC miners leave, so it won't be too high for  GPU/CPU

Difficulty Re-Target Time: Every block

no it's not it's mineable by asic apparently, better to change it like vertcoin, so the price and attention can drive this coin up again
