If the plan is to hold for Mintpal, voting by the hour won't compete with coins adding BTC, unless you get a lot more people involved and part of the community, so you may want to kick off that campaign soon. Otherwise the devs should consider adding BTC to get it closer to the top, coins near the top generate a lot more interest than those in the middle.

Rather than try for Mintpal, why not try a collection of small exchanges? Allcrypt, atomic exchange, poloniex,  coined up, and places like that?

Based on what has occurred on Bittrex, the coin really needs more than one exchange. And it probably needs an ltc market too. It's stuck in no volume-land.

Shitty zero-volume exchanges are harmful, expect 1 satoshi buywall there and nothing more.

The danger in too many small exchanges is either a bunch of 1sat buy walls go up as someone already mentioned, or the coin can get arbitraged to death as people take advantage of the low volume and potential price differences between these low-volume exchanges.

1 decent lowish volume exchange is fine but being on ALL of them without being on any large exchanges could be very dangerous...

So everyone on here having a negative feel on the coin at an exchange... question is... What are you doing to help this coin? Are you sitting back expecting someone else to do all the work so you can make some money? I say instead of watching the exchange, go out and be proactive about it. You get out of it what you put into it.
All these other coins that make a killing up front die.. all that does is leave you looking for your next meal. How about we all sacrifice now... for the payout later. Go to the forum page and register and get involved. Just a thought.

I'm not a developer last time I checked. It really isn't my responsibility to make a coin succeed or fail. I mine or buy certain coins in the hope of making a long-term profit. I also write about certain promising new coins and trends and other things in the cryptocurrency scene. I ask questions in a lot of threads and try to contribute my own opinions and knowledge. But to suggest that everyone who mines or buys spartancoin has some kind of obligation to market the coin and/or help develop services for it, is inaccurate and would set a bad precedent. The average coin holder, miner, investor - does not have the time or interest in doing this. Only a small core group of enthusiasts do, and they are typically rewarded for their efforts via bounties.

I looked into writing an article about spartancoin but I couldn't get any really solid answers so there wasn't content for a decent article. I keep asking about what is so special about this coin and how it will be marketed but the answers I get are vague at best. So for now I am just holding the coins I mined and waiting to see where this goes.

Possible misunderstanding... doesn't take a developer to post on facebook. or tweet. and no its not up to miners or coin holders to grow the coin value, never was. I guess it stems from people expecting "poof" magical things over night and griping when things are not providing amazing get rich results. They say a strong community helps... well to me that means non-developers are included. The time is takes to say something here they could have done something positive elsewhere.

I agree with being positive and I am still sharing this coin out with those around me and voting every chance I get.

The challenge with waiting too long to get on an exchange is that a small amount of miners are accruing significant amounts of coin, and all it takes is one miner with a couple hundred million to panic and sell at 1 satoshi each and take away any chance of it going above that. The longer the coin stays as is with a low hash rate, no clear plan communicated and no exchange the more likely we will have a panicked seller when it does hit Mintpal or any other exchange with enough volume to absorb that kind of a trade. I am still positive about this coin and think it can do very well, and am in for the long haul, but we need to admit as a community that some individuals mine for the short term, and the longer they are forced to hold on the less they will take when they can sell it.

A strong coin has a great community with a balance of miners and traders, the traders though set the value through their demand and the miners follow the value, without the trader interest we will have a hard time creating value in the coin IMHO.

I see a few posts on here going this way and that way. Just so everyone knows what we are working on here is the short list:

- SpartanGlory.com website which is our flagship site for this project.
- Facebook to follow the site completion for seamless integration for sponsoring individuals/teams.
- Android. iOS and windows phone wallets are in production. working with the dogecoin wallet code, but have a lot to do as we don't want a copy since we have more features to implement. Looking to have a progress update by end of the week.
- we are also researching prospects for a sponsorship opportunity (sign up at the forum and post ideas if you find a good first candidate(s) )

This is our main focus and we are doing with the resources we have. People have stepped up to help in many areas and we always welcome new spartans to join us.

Anyone with writing skills and would like to write up a proposal letter for a marketing project we are looking at... send me a message. I would like to get that underway.

Does anyone have a solid estimate on the total SPN in Circulation?  It could be an opportunity for a strategic buyback.

Also - Exchanges DO NOT hurt coins!  They also don't save coins.  A lack of demand hurts coins.
If the merchants/businesses come into place - This coin will see it's day in the sun!
Economics of having hungrier sellers than buyers is why coins drop like this...

I'm too swamped to create a list/document but what are 10 reasons people should be buying this coin?  I know they exist and wouldn't be difficult to put together - can someone vested in the coin write it out and post it...

Love your energy QiWoman!!!  You're the best!  And I've seen you move markets!
