I have been using vircurex for a while. Because the price of cryptocoins are so high at the moment I would like to trade some of my coins there to fiat to hedge against crypto/fiat price fluctuation. But the BTC/USD price is so low (sub-950) on vircurex that it just looks a bad deal when everyone else has gone up to 1100+. I think the reason is that there is no way to transfer USD to vircurex so USD is a rare commodity on vircurex. (I don't think aurumxchange is working). I am thinking moving all my trade to other exchange now.
I suggest vircurex open USD transfer to vircurex in order to open a channel for the market to level the btc/usd price. My guess is that even using a very slow, email+wiring+manual method, processing a few transfers a day will do the job.

The interest paid is 15% of our collected trading fees for the coins. The payout is every 6 hours. See the help section for details. This does seem good at first glance. Further reading of the help section makes me less excited, however: Earn interests on Deposits You can now earn interest on your deposits. Every 6 hours we will pay out 15% of the earned trade fees to account holders who hold at least 5 BTC, 500 LTC or 2000 PPC respectively. The amounts will be paid out proportionally to the total account balance. We take a snapshot every 6 hours and pay out based on the account balance at that point in time. We reserver the right change the schedule without prior announcement. This feature is currently limited to BTC, LTC and PPC; for the next 3 months. Should sufficient interest be shown, we may extend it to other coins as well as extend the time frame. These are quite large deposits (about $6000, $17500 and $14000). Incentivising users all of a sudden to deposit such large amounts of capital makes me a touch suspicious.

5 BTC, 500 LTC or 2000 PPC
Rich get richer... Good idea to attract users, but bad implementation, Kumala, you should start small and do it like mcx, where all users with positive balance received interest.

We have reduced the minimum required balance to 1BTC, 100LTC or 400 PPC for interest payment eligibility.
Much happier about these numbers.

Considering past hacks on vircurex, have new security measures been put into place to ensure loss of these large deposits does not occur?

Agreed; what protections do we have against another Bitcoin Savings & Trust? does this place get regularly audited financial statements?

so what about shareholders are they getting anything yet? I mean they were supposed to get a % of profits, then the hack, then nothing now the % is being given away to deposit holders.
also please fix your graphs, eg crypsy or even your own crypto exchange

Do LTC withdrawals and deposits work now?

Should be visible now, the interest calculation job is now auto scheduled every 6 hours, previously we triggered it manually and then verified the account postings.

I have some NMC stored on Vircurex and some on another exchange. Am I able to move my NMC from Vircurex to the other exchange directly through the website? Or do I have to transfer to a local client first?
Am I better off trading into BTC then moving that locally... then onto the other exchange?
What are my options for removing my DVC?
Thanks.

Perhaps a quick lesson in how transactions work is in store. When you send cryptocurrencies from one address to another, that's all your doing. There's nothing magic about where the address's private key is stored. So can you withdraw nmc from Vircurex? - Yes can you deposit to other exchanges such as Cryptsy? - Yes Therefore you can transfer directly from one website to the other becauase both sites allow you to send coins from one address to another, and that's no different from home wallet functionality. Hope this helps.

Should be visible now, the interest calculation job is now auto scheduled every 6 hours, previously we triggered it manually and then verified the account postings. Not complaining, but in case this is helpful: I don't see any interest payments in my history... not that I need to. I'm ok with my balances randomly going up, heh. But I haven't been monitoring to see if that's happening.
