I went back through the instructions and ran into a problem. First, I successfully have CGminer hashing in SHA-256 mode. When I then go to run CPUminer in scrypt mode with the dual flag, I get this error: ./minerd: error while loading shared libraries: libjansson.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I went through the CPUminer installation instructions again to be sure I hadn't missed something. All of the commands completed successfully, but I do still get the error above. I also tried launching minderd without CGminer running. Note that I know just enough about Linux to be highly dangerous, and I appreciate any help from the folks who know more. Ohhhhh Try this sudo -s ln -s /usr/local/lib/libjansson.* /usr/lib/ And let me know. I omitted it from the guide because it didn't appear to be needed on my system.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's
computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be
reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Pulling my hair out. lol.
I had to go with the controller option instead of PC because of electrical wiring in my house.
So I setup a second router as an AP and used my main router to bridge it.
I can see both of the controller ip/mac addresses. When I type them in.....nothing. Cannot connect.
Any ideas guys?
AP client isolation may be turned on. What are the models of the two routers (the bridge and the router)

Router is a tp-link.
I'm using a linksys WRT-54GL as a bridge.
First router has AP isolation disabled, it is bridged to second router. wireless security disabled on both (for now).
What is weird is being able to see the ip address of the controllers but not access them. lol. suck.

Don't suppose you hardwired just to make sure that everything works?

Ewww. All the messages from jack and from around the community in different languages say that the controller is locked down. But I wonder when jack finishes this new firmware if you will be able to load it on them?

Just to keep the public thread on this clear, this link command did allow me to launch CPUminer, though I can't get it to return any yays. Still working on that, but I wanted to thank miaviator for getting me this far!

FYI the TL-WR703N is a wireless router, so if you can get root access you can connect it directly to an AP I'll try to remake the lightningasic firmware, unfortunately I don't have too much time to deal with it right now. If anybody wants the original and the lightningasic versions of rootfs to play with let me know. A few things probably have to be removed from the default install to get some extra space. LA also removed all of the wireless drivers.

only 2 amp ! I correct me Somewhere I read the gridseed board spec said 100ma usb. The lighteningasic hub has 1 AMP per port. I would go with something at 500ma to 1amp per port to be safe.

So 100% confirmed the fans are not required for Scrypt only mode?
What's the best way to remove the fans? Just unscrew and cut the cables?

I de-soldered the fan connections on the pcb's of my miners but most of you folks don't have or know how to use a solder iron. It takes one very well versed in such to pull it off without damaging or esd'ing them. Be very wary of electrostatic discharge! If you spike anything on that card (electric arc), it's little brains are toast and your pod just became a very expensive window ornament! I'd suggest you simply cut the wire about half way between the fan and the card, without removing the heat sink and if you can, add a male/female plug to each end so you can later plug it back in should you decide you want to mine SHA-256 again for some reason. I would not completely abandon mining in that mode if I were you. There are some new SHA coins coming out, at least one right now that's so new it hasn't even really hit the market yet. In fact, there should be a soft disable feature for the fans but I suppose they left out PWM fan control to save money and space. Anyway, if you can't add a connector to the cut wires, simply tape them off to prevent any possibility of shorting out the 14.2V coming in. That would make sparks and magic black smoke and probably kill the chips! DOH! As always, try this shyt at your own RISK! If you kill it, YOU SUCK! Wolfey2014

that's a very good solution, so simple but hasn't come to my mind ... thx a lot
