I'm in UK, want to get a little BTC, only about a fivers worth to start with, can I send a Postal Order.

your best bet would be to give your fiver to a friend and get him or her to buy it. a postal order woild take a while and tbh in that time frame you'd loose out on potential profits. Why not buy a whole coin?

1. Litecoin 2. Bitcoin 3. Any of the Anon coins

Hey,

From time to time the bank gets locked every few months. Last time was for a 25 GBP transaction despite such high deposits and volume. We're adding another staff to work on the exchange and hopefully these problems will be spotted instantly in the future.

During the last 24 hours, people have been having trouble depositing because payments were rejected. Now that is sorted with the banks and everything seems fine. It is OK to deposit now into the account.

Yeah, a friend of mine attempted a transaction through HSBC but was blocked temporarily by their fraud detection service throwing up a warning (unusual traffic). After he verified that he really did want to deposit then they processed the details as normal. Interesting to see that the banks are monitoring this movement of GBPs.

Glad to see that the Britcoin exchange is growing. It's vital that Bitcoins are circulated so that more value is injected into the economy.

I agree. It's so important to get Bitcoins out of US into the rest of the world. It's tooth and nail to keep this thing running and be writing emails all day and ringing government offices.

Hey,

If deposits bounce back then try again. Anything sent this morning will probably bounce, but everything is resolved now and they should go through again. Email me webmaster@britcoin.co.uk if you're still experiencing problems with bounced payments tomorrow and I'll personally call the bank again.

I put in a deposit in the very early hours of this morning and just wondered how long does it take for it to show up on Britcoin (from a HSBC bank).

Was working, albeit with issues if you were logged in by OpenID about 8.15pm this evening when I transferred over some BTC.

Now a little worried that the temporary bitcoin addresses that they use for transferring in payments might have gone "puff" along with the site.  Sad

Sent the site webmaster a message, but no reply yet.

On top of that the homepage is now displaying some php errors...
I guess there are some problems. Is my BTC lost?

Just thought it's worth saying I deposited £25 earlier and it worked fine, took around 5 or 6 hours to hit my britcoin account. Now just waiting for it to turn into coins Smiley

Edit: and now the website appears to be broken..

Edit: it's back, and I have coins.
