The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

same with my second account :/

If you did not value your BTC talk forum accounts enough in order maintain them, then the existence of such account(s) (if so) would not necessarily contribute to your current supposed increased status that you are attempting to assert with your current account.

Accordingly, if you have meaningful forum experiences, then perhaps you will be able to share those forum experiences and continue to make contributions to the forum, and sooner or later your experiences could be able to shine through your contributions, perhaps?  that is if you don't get too caught up in trying to assert largely irrelevant status claims that no one can really verify (and it does not matter too much) anyhow.

By the way, if you are merely attempting to assert status without having access to the prior accounts, then that seems merely a sign that you are relying on the wrong types of factors in order to get other posters to appreciate your past contributions, assuming they exist.

i am not entirely sure that it was lack of upkeep... i recall owning multiple domains.. one of which eventually became a btc gambling site and my email which was used to register somethingorother@lecoquin.net fell by the way side when i gave up the domain...

and yeah, it's just another internet forum so i'm not that precious about it all to be honest.

so whatever...

and it does not matter too much

is the moral of the story.

the point was that Jr Members could remain as Jr Members for many many years...
not that it is important to me personally, it was just an observation - however, with weight it is deemed by others that i was referring to my own experience, and not a general observation.

thus: interent formus is a disease which exists still to this day.

and some of us will be here for years as Jr Members because we don't reach 10 merit.

system is officially 'a bit shit' really.
I had a look at your posts, but I wasn't able to view them all since I apparently have some of the sections you posted in on ignore--but I gave you merit for one of them that was pretty decent.  You might be posting in some mega spam threads and people may not even be reading what you're writing--I'm not sure.

I disagree with your statement about the system being a bit shit, because it's working to keep the shitposters from ranking up.  You might be one example of some collateral damage, and I'll keep an eye on your posts.  Based on your posts in this thread it sounds like you probably don't care, but I'm on the look out for members whose posts tend to get overlooked.

So you lied about 2009 then?
Don't know what that drama is about, but this guy at least has some skill at writing.  That's more than can be said for 90% of the members here.

thank you, however it wasn't my intent to beg for merit. i will of course, pass it on with due consideration.
i am pretty sure it was 2009... i cpu mined from my home (in france at the time) just as gpu's hit the network...
it was a long time ago and i've done rather a lot with my life since then... anyhoo...

i do think the system could be improved slightly.. and if i come up with a 'how' rather than just a rant and a 'multipost' i'll put it forth.

meanwhile... be kind to one another, i am still in crypto for the same reasons i was at the very beginning.

No big deal, I'm just allergic to lies.

Random user: "I had a forum account in 2009."
Cranky suchmoon: "Which of these 2009 accounts is yours?"
Random user: "None."
Cranky suchmoon: " Roll Eyes "

i am pretty sure it was 2009...

So what's your original username?

Next time instead of "I've been here since before you were in diapers so I know stuff" try actually posting stuff.

You were lucky! I used to dream of using an abacus! Would've been a luxury to me. I mined bitcoins for three months while living in a lake. I used to have to get up at three in the morning, clean the lake, eat a handful of hot gravel for breakfast, go to work at the bitcoin farm for 3 satoshi a month, and mine bitcoin by carving the operations in to my own arm with broken bottle!

S/he has already been shown to be an exaggerator by proclaiming to have had a registered account on the forum in 2009.  S/he has also engaged in nonsense repetitive posts that seem intended to increase post count without really adding much substance.  S/he has also engaged in a kind of passive aggressive attempt at asserting status in a kind of reverse psychology (or perhaps subtle) way to beg for merits, and surely you have the prerogative to send an smerit (or more) to whomever you want..

1) Self-Custody is a right.  There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

Reading up on changes to position and gaining rank. Although this affects me negatively l see the merit it what is being introduced and hope spam issues are dealt with. In saying that does seem that with so many altcoin threads, obtaining merit can be like finding a needle in a haystack.
Will work on quality and see what happens.

In your total forum history, you have a lot of one liner posts in seeming bounty hunting threads, so it would be difficult to characterize your posts contributions as quality or attempting to help other members in various ways.  You can browse through the posts histories of some members who earn merit and see what they are doing to earn merit - which likely just involves engaging in various threads that are of interest to them (not just bounty hunting)..

Hello Theymos,

I had created this account and upgraded to copper member by making payment, I was using this properly even last day but when I viewed my profile today it shows you are a newbie member instead of showing copper member. Please check what's the problem going on and upgrade it to copper member again.
Waiting for your good response...

I think you should reply on this thread Newbies can now pay a small fee to enable images
There you would probably get more apt responses as it is directly connected to Copper membership details.

It's probably a bug cause I can see your signature on your profile. And newbies are not allowed to wear signatures.
Do you encounter any of the typical newbie restrictions?
