The media plays a huge part in this too.

Scaring people with scary headlines, focusing on the worst of the bunch, making ICO's seem downright dangerous.

Add in the ministries of fiat cracking down on crypto ICOs via their government mouthpieces and the journalists that are in their pockets.

And considering the crypto markets are a small sliver of the overall market in comparison to their fiat instruments, the tail is now firmly wagging the dog.

Buckle up.  The fiat masters are about control.  Individual freedom goes against everything they stand for.  Crypto remains the most viable threat to their power in centuries.

ICOs are not dying off, what I see and understand is that the good ICOs are been filtered while the craps are thrown out of the system, When ever reputable project emerges, it get funded.

Yeah I think you are right that the ICOs are not dying, but there are just so many scam ICOs emerging that made legit ICOs look bad that is why most of the investors think that ICOs are really dying.

We see that ICO is fading now, 99% of ICOs have lost their appeal, and it is hard to see those 100+ projects, although I don't think ICO will die very soon, ICO (current ICO of this model) will gradually disappear.

Its certainly not. There is just investors hesitant to invest right now due to the bear market we experience. But once the market rises up again, they'd be confident to send ETH and BTC as they can have more tokens to be received. If tokens in ICO has BTC price then its not going to hit big but if tokens will have certain quantity like 1BTC = 25000tokens, investor might have the confidence granting the ICO team isn't a scam.

I don't think that ICO's are dying off, some ICO's are succeed because of their project that investors interested, maybe we can say that ICO's are dying if all ICO's are not successful.

If you visit icodrop, icorating and icocamp you will find out that many projects are coming out every day and month.  I don't think icos market is dying off and I think we still have many projects that has not been listed yet.  I think this is the beginning of cryptocurrencies development and many others coins will be coming out in future.

I would not say that ICOs are dying, I think they are getting smaller because the market is not in the best shape right now!

No it's not, we just got much less scam ICO and less newbies who put money in every project. As I see now good projects are still raising money and do x2 or more. Invstors become more careful.

I think yes, there are many investors who are disappointed with ico, the cause of the scam and also the hated bounties who carry out uncontrolled dumps that cause investors to lose, we cannot ignite them, the hanter bounties also play an important role in ico.

Unfortunately there have been some ICOs which couldn't success and this influenced the ICO market but I am sure it will not dye forever. When the market will go up the ICOs will go up too.

Initial coin offerings have raised $20 billion since the beginning of 2017, which represents $ 18 billion more than the previous year.

$12 billion was raised through ICOs in the course of 2018, while last year they raised $ 7 billion. The ICO blockchain EOS protocols and the Telegram messaging application account for almost half of all ICO funds in 2018.

Although more than 300 cryptocurrencies have been launched to invest in crypto-assets, the vast majority of funds are concentrated within a small minority of organizations.

ICOs are often exposed to scams, while phishing and hacking are responsible for stealing 15% of all crypto-assets at market value. More than 50% of the ICOs were unable to raise funds and subsequently closed.

Many ICOs were allegedly launched to take advantage of the "gold rush", resulting in regulatory and quality concerns related to tokens.

But the general community will decide the future of the crypto-ICOs.

No, I would not say that it is. It seems to me that when the market stabilizes and the snvoa starts to grow, then we can make good money on it

I am sure that investments at the stage of public sales are really dying. This process moves to the next level in the hands of qualified investors. Private investment increasingly goes to existing projects that are in the top.

Nice presentation of tabulated data and very useful as visual aid , well base on data with no doubt its dying , I think maybe because of lack of investors were going to have interest in investing ICO project , since they are losing their money because of scam .

I am considering such an option that investors are disappointed in ICO projects, since most of them do not bring them income. Investing is difficult to find a good project. But do not make a premature conclusion, you need to wait for the new results of statistics at the end of the year, and only then analyze the results.

They're not dying off but they I appreciate the sentiment. I think investors are just more cautious - which is a good thing if I might add.

At this time that many crypto users opt to hold,ICO were affected too especially if their a big project that nees much investors. But if the project is too good investors might think about it still.

I don't think so. The challenges ICOs are facing through out the year 2018 are lessons that this industry has to learn. They should start to do something to bring back the trust to ICOs just like setting up regulations to crack down those failed ICOs or to reject those weak ICOs. There should be something to filter them behore making into the market.
