I have never been a big fan of ads, but given the proceeds are going straight to the users, I can definitely put up with them.  This is a great idea !!

Things are certainly looking up for Hempcoin.  

on another note, thanks to all who have been mining at thc.hempfied.club.  We have a good solid hashrate on the network and are up to 46 registered users and averaging about 14+ concurrent miners at anytime.  Thanks everyone !!

I will be doing a random Hempcoin give away shortly after we hit 50 registered users... not 100% on the details yet; maybe highest/largest donator, maybe the most consistent miner under 5 MH, maybe the highest personal hashrate, maybe the 50th person registered, maybe the 55th or maybe ill just pick names out of a hat..... It will be a surprise !  But, either way, some lucky miner(s) will be happy to see some extra coins sent their way.

Thanks for the comments buddy!     I'm not a fan of ads either.. I'm kind of stuck because I don't have a big cache of coins to give away..  I HAD 2 million hempcoins and between my charitable ways and selling here and there when I NEEDED to pay for the vps and didn't have any cash, I now have 0.. lol..  I'm not looking for donations, just explaining why I need to use ads at this point.  Maybe eventually we can come up with some fancy new way to display ads that is fairly integrated & low-key. I'm going to do my best to keep them to a minimum but still allow for some revenue to come in for rewards.

I have a couple thoughts about the ads that maybe make them a little easier to handle than something like FB ads.
 
1) The ads will be coming from crypto specific vendors, retailers etc.  So maybe users might actually find them 'somewhat' useful at times. - just a thought, I don't know.. lol
 
2) How many sites take their ad revenue and give it to their users which are the only reason the ad money is coming in to begin with?  Not too many I'd think.  I think it's a nice way to say "hey, thanks for using the site".   I'm sure nobody will get rich doing it but heck, I never get paid to use FB but Mark sure gets paid when I use it, I'm 100% for giving back to the community.

we have all seen the hefty 835,000 THC buy support at 135 sat for a while now, it hasn't budged.... maybe pecked at, but nothing more.

I now see a massive sell order of 813,000 THC at 155, maybe someone is trying to keep the price down or needs cash to pay some bills.... I am not sure, but what I do know is this...

last time a large sell order was put up, somebody ate it up pretty darn quickly.... which was then followed by our latest little pump into the mid 600's......  hmmm, is history going to repeat itself ??

I realize there were other factors involved the last time.... but one tends to wonder...

I haven't been buying much lately, but sure glad I have been accumulating through mining at thc.hempfield.club.... (end marketing pitch)

Going to remove my lower sell orders to allow the 'possible' pump to rise a little easier... :-)

I am not a fan of pumps at all, im in with hempcoin for the long run, but the market activity does bring some healthy attention to the coin.

These aren't real paper wallets. It's all in hemp.cash for now. I will be trying to figure out a way people can import/export real hemp coin paper wallets online with hemp.cash.


This tool can be used to get new people into the coin. The technical skills required to get the coins from the printed out gifts is pretty simple. Hopefully it can get hemp farmers/hemp suppliers/hemp product retailers interested in the coin.

This is amazing. I can see this being used:

- high school students putting them in each other's lockers (any lockers would be good, at the gym or work lockers).

- going in 10 minutes before a university class starts and placing them on all desks (Agriculture, English and Graphic design classes would be good skills to get into hemp coin. Any skills are good to bring into the community).

- placing them on tables at coffee shops/cafes/fast food (any where with free wifi and has people sitting down with nothing to do for 20 minutes).

- Halloween treats LOL (That one is funny, I don't want to be the neighborhood weirdo). Maybe I will do it. I guess it's not weird...

- Give them to stores to give away as a bonus for each purchase at their store.

- Tape them on walls beside the seats of the bus/train (Don't put them on the seats, no one wants to touch bus/train paper).

- Give them away outside of medical marijuana dispensaries.

- Give them away at Hemp Farmers conferences/meetup groups.

- Give them away at Farmers Markets.


OMG so many possibilities. All it takes is a phone with a QR code scanner and some wifi. This is so easy. I love it.

I have some more gift ideas. I will be making a continuously scannable QR code. So something like this will be possible.

1 QR code, 1000 scans, 1 scan per user, 5 coins per scan.

I will make it so you can refill/edit the QR code as well. This way if anyone wants to put it on a shirt, in a magazine ad or on a billboard at an event you can keep it running and monitor its use.

This tool might be really useful for advertising. If a company like facebook or Google does pay-per-click advertising and people scan the code inside of clicking the ad = free advertising.


I will soon be opening up the "get"/"deposit" address feature for the next 10 people who want to use the gift or fund feature of https://hemp.cash. I will be making it easier to get an address if people want to use the gifting feature of the wallet.

I will not be opening up the "get" address feature yet to people who just want to use the site to make their coins anonymous. I hope to have the receive coin feature open ASAP but it is the most expensive feature to operate.

I did some of this stuff called "toast". It's like honey oil but it's solid and when you break it apart it looks like a broken piece of golden toast. It's amazing stuff to vaporize. You can put one tiny little lump into vapo-pen and puff it all day.

I hope all is well with everyone and hope you all enjoyed Halloween this weekend. 

There has been some great Hempcoin progress lately and I think it's time 'we' as a community need to help give a further push where a push is needed.

I have an idea I would like to throw out there and see what everyone thinks.

We all know there have been issues with the upcoming wallet release.  It seems getting POS working on the new code base is more challenging than anticipated.  We have the option of reverting back to the previous code base (slower, older, not as good), but Hempcoin does not want to settle for an inferior product.  Hempcoin wants to stand out amongst the hundreds of altcoin options out there, Hempcoin is ahead of the game.

We have reached out for assistance and had a few generous members give their time to assist with the wallet.  We are very thankful for their efforts, however thankful is not fixing our POS :-D.  Any help received was out of the goodness of their heart and no incentives were given.  I believe we, as a community need to sweeten the deal and help out our hard working and dedicated development team.

I propose that we start a community donation fund to help get us past this development hiccup.  Keep in mind Hempcoin did not have any premine and I am very proud of all that has been accomplished so far without the need of any premine or donation fund.  This shows a great deal about the nice little community we have growing here.

For added security, we can setup the donation fund with a multisig address ( two-of-four type address).  A unique key would be given to four well known members of the community ( all 4 keys are different).  In order to withdraw funds from this account, 2 of the 4 keys are needed to unlock it.

What do Hempcoinians think ?  good idea or not ?

I for one would love to see the number of POW blocks drastically decrease to put an end to the miners dumping their coins at bittrex.  I think the quicker we can get POS working again, the quicker things will start to happen for Hempcoin.

I would start it off by donating 25,000 THC plus a weeks worth of donations on the hempfield.club pool.  not much, but its just a start.  If there is good community involvement, I would double/triple my donation.

I am confident we can muster together an alluring enough bounty to fix Hempcoin's POS.

If we are going to invest in new development i would prefer Hempcoin going in the Orbitcoin direction.
Orbitcoin is currently 63% pos and is like many others switching from scrypt to neoscrypt to get the asics out and allow the small miners back in.
To be very honest the Hempcoin wallet is still the slowest loading wallet i have (except for bitcoin), and we do not have pos, so maybe that new code is not that great.
Everybody here has already seen how easy hempcoins are sucked up and dumped by someone with moderate scrypt hashing power and bigger machines are on their way to people desperate to make ROI in this bear market.
I've done a few neoscrypt switches and they are smooth, i checked the current code and think a switch to neoscrypt pos/pow would not be that difficult.
And as a plus most coins that made the switch gained value and interest.

That is an interesting idea as well, will have look more into orbitcoin and neoscrypt.  I am not one to believe that ASICS are the reason for miners dumping, I think it helps stabilize the network if anything.  Whether you throw 100 Mh at a network with 1GH or if you throw 1Mh at a network with 10Mh, its all relative.  However assuming that ASICS will remain comparatively expensive, scrypt may take away the possibility of the average miner not getting a chance to get a piece of the Hempcoin pie (outside of the exchanges).  I am not technical enough to weigh all the advantages/disadvantanges, but think its worth talking about as a community.

I am surprised you find the Hempcoin wallet slower than others, do you have thousands of transactions ?  Even at that, I have thousands and thousands of transactions on my wallet and it still loads faster than most others.  With most other coins, once I get up over a couple thousand transactions, I need to transfer my coins to a new wallet.dat so it loads faster.  On one coin I was forced to load my wallet.dat into a Linux daemon in order to send the coins as my Windows QT wallet would just freeze up and never fully load.
