I do have a lot of transactions in my wallet , been mining this from block one. All my wallets are on an ssd and it is very workable, but still noticeably slower. But a lot better than with the old code. I have no problem with that, but i'm starting to feel i'm missing out with no pos. Guncoin (GUN) and Imperialcoin (IPC) are two coins i assisted with in their transition to neoscrypt, if interested you could read the guncoin threat. We had the ASIC discussion there. In the end it boils down to community and the ability to allow small miners to get a piece of the pie. Never underestimate the stubbornness of a CPU miner to get a block. Got quite some asic power myself but i use it rarely on Hempcoin. I mined most of my coins with a GPU.

I don't know about transition to ASIC-resistant algo. People who bought ASICs just to buy THC wouldn't be happy. Just to make it clear, I don't own any ASICs nor GPU rigs.
I was thinking about transitioning HEMP (you maybe noticed I use HEMP and THC interchangably, they are synonymous IMO) to multi-ago (2, to be exact). It would be possible to mine THC both via Scrypt and ASIC-resistant algo. Implementing it however wouldn't be easy (not impossible, it has already been done, but always on new coin, not on coin aready running)
I decision of exact algorith should be based on comunity consensus. I personally prefer Keccak, because it can be mined by both NVIDIA and AMD GPUs effectively, while it also can be mined on CPU.
Sorry if I made some typos, my laptop failed and I'm on my old PC, where I don't have spellchecker installed yet.

In most cases, THC wallet should be one of the fastest wallets available. However in some cases, it could be faster. I had upgrade ready, that could increase wallet speed (up to 20 times faster in some cases). I decided to add it after POS is fixed.

interesting... just when I think I am starting to get a grasp on things, something new becomes possible. The multi algo's approach sounds really interesting. Would it be possible to have the block generation divided equally between scrypt, ASIC-resistant algo and POS ? I think we would just have to make each algo have a 3 minute block time....however, I am getting well beyond my technical knowledge of how this all works, but I think that would be quite interesting if possible, best of 3 worlds. PS: thc.hempfield.club had its 50th registrant yesterday... Thanks everyone !! once I get a chance I will send out the rewards to a few lucky miners. NOOB question: is it bad if i post txid's here for the rewards I send ? I would also like to post the miners name as well. If anyone does not want this, let me know. Thanks.

I think the best plan is to follow behind a really good coin. Find a coin that already has things like a decentralized lite wallet with POS ability. A coin where the devs aren't going to disappear anytime soon. Then the devs here can work together with the devs on future development on the coins source code, which is the exact same.
I have a question about a coin swap and complete new source code: If hemp coin remains with the same H starting letter for receiving addresses, would it be possible to premine the current ~130,000,000 coins and then send them all out anonymously to the same addresses that hold them now? That sounds pretty easy to me and like a good idea if it's possible. I would like for the old block chain to remain under old.blockchain.info forever if a coin swap happens.
I don't want a coin swap but it's looking like a good idea.If there is a swap, the coins must be swapped anonymously. Anyone with a wallet.dat file or a paper wallet must get the coins in that same wallet without any knowledge of the coin swap.
I have another idea which could be good. I never like to go 1 way. I like many ways to do things. This leads me to think... what if THC remains how it is now and we create a brand new coin called HEMP. HEMP will be premined and use the same H in the receiving addresses. Anyone with THC as of say... Dec. 25th or Jan 1st will also have that much HEMP.
This whole idea relies on the ability to use the same wallet.dat/paperwallets with the two different coins and blockchains.

Yes, that's possible and that's actually what I would like to happen. We would be first coin that transitioned from single-algo to multi-algo. Congrats on the Hempfield! It's really great pool.

That's what we are doing currently. We are following NVC. No POS coin has lite wallet, as far as I know. Hmmm....that may be possible! All that would be needed is make little app, that would send coins to new chain. It would go like this: 1. Snapshot of all addresses balance would be created. 2. First block with exactly that amount as reward would be mined. 3. App on server would send all coins to respective addresses. 4. User would either use old wallet in new client or they would dump old wallet private keys and import them to new wallet. Old paper wallets would be compatible with new wallet. 5. Done! That's brilliant idea! I'm so glad we have people like this in THC community!

His block explorer is the best explorer that I have ever seen. I think it's necessary to keep the old blockchain available to the public. A public ledger is important. Foul play could be involved if a complete blockchain from the beginning isn't always available. Edit: If killsig could somehow merge both blockchains together in his block explorer, it would be the most amazing thing ever. LOL, I talk like this plan is going down for sure.

As part of our research on the idea of a possible source code switch and coin swap we should all list the coins that we think are the best to switch over to.
I actually don't know any good POS coins so all I can mention is: reddcoin.com

Important thing is implementing multi-algo, base can be anything. NVC is very advanced code in my opinion (that's our current code), Redd is good too.

Do you know any? Multi-algo would be a great feature to add. All miners would be able to support the network. I would want to support sha256, scrypt, x11 and keccak. I don't see a point in trying to support a cpu only algo since it'll be GPU soon after. Do you know if its possible to remove and add algorithms after a multi-algo coin is launched? I would want it even. 2 ASICs algos and two non-ASICs algos. Once x11 goes ASIC then that would be 3 to 1 with ASICs winning.

Two POS wallets that I have are NAV & Greenbacks - both of them seem to work pretty well as far as I can see.

Every algo has advantages, 2 which standout most IMO opinion are Keccak and Groestl.

I think keeping things simple is a good idea, as my prof used to say KISS; keep it simple stupid :-) I can`t comment much on which algo to use, but my thought would be to pick the one that uses very little resources so it can run smoothly and very well on say mobile devices with ease. From my understanding, future algo changes would be possible, so if ASICS come out for whatever "ASIC resistant algo" is chosen, then we just change it again. no ? just a thought.

Your professor was smart Yes, future algorithm change is possible, in case some manufacturer announces ASIC for algorithm we use, we will switch to new one. Most available algorithms are sufficiently "lightweight" for phones. I wouldn't even consider those weird algos which use gigabytes of memory.

I left a 10,000 hemp coin paperwallet tip for my waiter tonight. I wrote on the back "Keep this in your sock drawer for 5 years". I hope he wasn't mad. I didn't leave him anything else as a tip. I also hope he keeps it for 5 years. I even laminated it for him.
