For me, maybe this time XRP really better than ETH, but not at all times.
Ethereum. On my opinion lots of investors go to XRP because of the rank number got by xrp. But not means xrp better to eth. Well see after bitcoin raise again. Ethereum take that place again and no one can replace it.

if we talk about "now" then yes, XRP for now is better than ethereum in terms of price, but for the long term I'm not sure XRP will remain like this considering the popularity of Ethereum and its platform

I don't think XRP is better than Ethereum although at present XRP is at 2nd Rank in coinmarket by market capitalization and trading volume after Bitcoin but it is not permanent. Ethereum will cross XRP soon.

Based on the price, yes XRP is quite better than ETH right now, but if you'd actually compare it without the price and just basically compare the 2 Alts, I'd put XRP on top 3 and still put ETH on top 2, because I know that this is just a temporary breakdown for ETH, and if it does make a comeback it will also probably regain that 2nd spot on the market, but to be unbiased with between the 2 alts, you just really gotta admire what XRP is gaining and getting that 2nd spot in the market.

The last time i checked, XRP is a centralized project with strong developing team putting things in other for the project in General. That aside, it will still be wrong to judge a book by its cover as i think ETH is still a better project than XRP. The only coin better than ETH in the space is Bitcoin. ETH have been used on numerous occasions by different ICO project and there is what we call Wear and Tear in science and i think that is what ETH is currently going through at present.

I am greatly amazed by eth continuous remain at number two position on the Coinmarketcap, it is so surprising how much eth has fallen. The fall is epic and it appears it has not gotten to bottom yet. Eth is a great utility coin and I think the massive sell off as exchanged with most failing ICO coins is equally responsible for the price drop. We hope it gets bigger again

Besides that they have their respective sectors so they will not compete, so don't be afraid to invest in one of them, because their prices I don't think will affect each other. |

I think not, ripple in top 2 is not because it is better than ethereum, but because of the ethereum conditions that are

Really surprising seeing XRP occupying the number two position of eth for so long makes me wonder if eth will ever recover that soon. Eth has been the most talked about cryptocurrency aside bitcoin and who knows if the so much attention is responsible for the the sell off. I just wish everything should return again so quick and we see eth at above $1000 again

These projects have different missions and XPR can defeat ETH in terms of trading volume but does not exceed it in its intended purpose. ETH is vital for cryptography.

Ripple has developed Codius which is arguably a more robust smart contracts platform than Etherium. In fact, Vitalik interviewed for a job at Ripple in 2013 but it didn't work out for visa issues if I recall. Ripple decided to focus on building the ILP instead of Codius realizing that interoperability was the most important thing for the ecosystem. They just released Codius a few months ago and has already seen strong adoption. If Etherium had a clear path for their much needed 2.0 updates I would be more hopeful for them but it seems that they are more than 2 years away from moving away from DYING PROOF OF WORK. Its too bad. Of course, ETH will never be able to compete with XRP in terms of speed and low transaction costs. Also, the fact that the DAO happened really loses a lot of credibility for ETH. XRP is faster, cheaper, more secure and the XRP ledger is now more decentralized than ETH and BTC. I think in a couple of years ETH will be #2 again... behind XRP at #1 and maybe BTC remains in the top 10? Good luck to all! |

depending on our own judgment, it's good for now XRP is superior to the fall of ETH but we can see the quality of ETH before the bloody market last September and the previous year that the ETH is the most potential. in my judgment ETH is more qualified and for now I recognize that XRP can compete with ETH, but we are waiting in the future to be superior.
