For me, i would go with the 2 options but it will depend on the type of project.
After a constructive research, i am able to differentiate the difference between a long term project and a short project.

The ability to determine this factor, will make you rich in crypto currency.

In trading, the more the risks, the more changes of bigger rewards. Investing in ICOs are for investors who are experienced in the industry and are good in predicting the project and its legitimacy. But prices of coins/ token on ICO are cheaper and has more bonuses.  Investing after ICOs, on the other hand, are those who want sure rewards on their investments. If indeed the coin reaches or gets listed in the market, their prices are higher so they get lower reward.

Please, try to find at least couble of legit ICOs which raised money and gain at least a small profit for last 6 months? I don't think that we should invest in ICOs at all, because there are so many high-quality cheap TOP projects at the market atm.

What is better is actually investing during ICO compared to investment after ICO. Of course the two choices are different. If you invest during ICO, of course you can get a bonus compared to investing after the ICO.

This is a great question, because it can be answered if you look at coinmarketcap. During the red days, there is no chance that any new token is going to give you profit and the better choice for now would be to wait and to buy on exchanges. You will get this token for a much better price.

Actually, they had a 30% bonus that would apply for the entry purchase if you bought in a certain period and then 20%, 15% and so on that without counting the 2% and 5% additional discount on the sale amount if greater than a certain amount. I do not know if they had a private sale or not so, but the price right now is not really lower by much if you bought during the top bonus period.

From my general observation most ICOs tent to bottom at the pre-ico price once they get listed on exchanges so ya pretty much if you missed the pre-ico/private sale bonus it is better to wait and buy from the market and that applies on every ICO not just Nauticus.

It's not a disaster if you were a part of the early investors which have participated in some icos on Q1 of 2018. You were a millionaire. Some of icos just like Zil, ONT and some altcoins have already made some new millionaires in the crypto. You should aware about that.

Though it is very risky investing in ICO now but we cannot discourage investors from investing in ICI because there are good project out there and if there is nobody to invest in it how do we expect the dev and team to promote the project.

Some coins launch with a very high price because the excitement and expectations are high and gradually lose this value over time. Yes, I agree with you. I also believe that it is better to invest in ICO, when the project is already launched and the coin is listed. Firstly because the probability of getting on the scam project is reduced. Secondly, because the price of the coin is also likely to fall and you can buy it at a lower price.

Somehow even they do find the right element of a good ICO it still doesn't give a 100% success because some of the ICOs now that you have seen that has potential will eventually turn out to be a scam. And i believe it will be safer to purchase a coins form the market instead of purchasing during an ICO.

Those pre-sales would be nice if you're not in a hurry to invest. Pretty nice for a discount sometimes, but those discount could turn the tables if you don't even know the legitimacy of the ICO, not like being too much of negativity but it is just too much to discount a lot in pre-sale. It might turn the investors into buying a lot of coins that time thinking that the sale was worth the coin but turns out it was just a chipped stone and not a coin in the end.
Investing after ICO could trigger a habitual FOMO since you could have missed out the bonuses as what you had stated, triggering you to buy every pre-sales.
Pre-sales would take a lot days anyway, and you could take that day to investigate the project then decide there if you want to raise your gambled fiats into that project. I had seen that some pre-sales lasted for quite a week or even a month depending on their roadmap, and the discounts were "quite" worth it.

I agree, some of the bonuses I've mad money on during the bear market. I seen people just throwing their coins away (usually bounty dumpers), then the price will raise 5x from what they sold it at back to the ICO price lol. Such a waste of $$$ when ppl do that, but to each their own! Someone did that today on the Nauticus exchange. Dude sold his NTS for 1/10th the ICO price. Dropped the coin down, then an hour later and the coin went up 600% from his dumping price hahaha.

That's why I waited. The Nauticus exchange has a NTS token that I've been wanting to buy for a while. As soon as the price tanked a bit I got some at a discount and then it went up haha. It's down around 40% since its ICO which isn't bad considering ETH is down almost 25% just this week lol.

This was what we have experienced in last year. But, there could be multiple reasons why most of the ICOs were crashed down once they hit exchanges, one main reason must be, the total crypto market was falling down hence ethereum based projects were unable to cope up. But, we may have different scenario is coming months as most coins will find positive trend this year. Hence, investing into ICOs may become profitable also.

That is true. Every coin that is listed after the ICO will fall and drop drastically. In 2017, the decrease will only about -50%, no more. But last year and now, it will be about very drastically, down. They will always fall whatever the market situation.
