Mumbai Indians  vs  Punjab Kings

Mumbai's batsmen are in a good rhythm now. Despite not being able to win against Chennai in the last match, Mumbai players batted well against Bengaluru and Delhi in the previous two matches. The team scored 199 runs in 15.3 overs against Bengaluru and set a huge target of 235 runs against Mumbai and Delhi. This is why I am betting on Mumbai to win today's match. Hope the team doesn't disappoint me. Moreover, Punjab team is not in good form now.

If the target of 200 runs can be given to Punjab Kings by controlled bowling, maybe Mumbai Indians will have a chance to win against Punjab Kings.

This is probably why the Mumbai batsmen have batted slowly from the beginning of the innings today, the Mumbai batsmen have batted very carefully. At the end of 10 overs, Mumbai's collection was 86 runs with the loss of one wicket. Rohit and SUryakumar Yadav batted responsibly. Rohit scored 36 runs from 25 balls and Yadav scored 78 runs from 53 balls.

Punjab's top order played very poorly today. The team lost wickets very quickly today. The team lost 4 wickets to collect only 14 runs. And the Punjab team lost the fifth wicket for 49 runs. Akash madhwal bowled a horrible over. He gave 24 runs in 1 over. And I would say that after this bad over, the match was completely taken over by Punjab. With some controlled bowling, the match would have been very competitive in the end.
Shashank Singh was dismissed with 41 runs from 25 balls. Even then we saw Ashutosh Sharma's aggressive batting. Ashutosh Sharma is unbeaten with 59 runs off just 25 balls. Punjab is going to win today because of this great batting.

In almost every match we see the same type of incident. Although Cotezee has bowled well at times, his performances have not been consistent. In today's match too BBumrah picked up three wickets with just 21 runs in 4 overs.

The Punjab team just lost the wicket of Ashutosh Sharma. Punjab must collect 25 runs from 17 balls. It will not be easy for Punjab's batsmen to score 25 runs at this moment. There are no experienced batsmen at the crease.

Mumbai Indians are now at the 7th place in points table, just behind Delhi Capitals. hahahaha This is indeed true. Priti Zinta's fate is very bad. I don't think we will see such ups and downs from Punjab in this match. A team struggling to win against a mammoth target of 192 runs after collecting only 14 runs. This is truly commendable. We have to admit that Ashutosh and Shashank batted well despite being under a lot of pressure. But Punjab's luck was not good today.

Mumbai team won today because of Bumrah and Coetzee's controlled bowling. Akash Madhwal bowled very badly today. He gave 46 runs in 3.1 overs. Also Gopal gave 26 runs in 2 overs. If Akash could have done some controlled bowling, the match could have been dominated by the Mumbai team.

Punjab King batsmen put in a lot of effort and struggle but their ends will be batted out.  If they had a single batsman they needed 9 runs off 5 balls and their batsmen could have won the match by meeting this target.  But luck did not favor them and they lost the match.  Had they kept their pace from the start they could have won the match.  And in the first 10 overs of the innings their batsmen did not work hard and struggle which cost them in the end.  My congratulations to the MI team for the win and may they continue to play like this and win matches.  And Punjab King batsmen should emphasize their performance.  So that they can perform well in the next matches and win the match.

While the big names of Punjab failed to deliver, Shashank and Ashutosh demonstrated fearless play in this format yet again.

Chennai Super Kings vs Lucknow Super Giants will be a very competitive match today. It is very difficult to predict which team will win today's game. As both the teams are in the middle of the points table their performances will be very good so the team that can keep the wickets for a long time is the only team that can win. So we only have to wait for the win to see which team performs better?

Morning thoughts on yesterday's match:

Taking a completely losing game that was 15-4 then to almost winning, other teams can learn a lot from this performance, for example, GT the other day that went completely defensive upon losing early wickets and eventually created lowest score this season.

Punjab should play Sikandar Raza in playing XI, I feel it's lapse on Punjab's part that they make him sit on bench, he's top tier all rounder.

Mumbai's experience of playing pressure games saved them while from Punjab I dunno if it would be correct to say lack of it made them lose but they could have played sensible when requirement were 24 runs of 28 balls.

Bumrah is once in a lifetime spectacle in cricket.

Half of the matches are over by now, and Mumbai still has a fair chance to enter the playoff phase this season.

Impossible? Ashutosh had already brought Punjab back into the game single handedly, 28 out of 24 is nothing in IPL, he wanted to finish the game as soon as possible and in doing so he give up his wicket.
