I want Bernie or Warren to win, mostly because it will be so awesome to watch Republican talking heads exploding for 4 straight years!
I wonder if Biden is going to run, does he want to go out out on top or risk losing to primary voters who may have shifted to his left too far? I wonder if Biden is more worried about the primary than the general?
You mean just like the Dems now? Keep dreaming. Trump is going to stomp a new mud hole in all of these candidates. Soon you will figure out why
No one has to "figure out why" Pardon my use nutidah this is why "I gotta go with a Bernie/Tulsi pairing. Everything else is pretty boring and likely to be squashed by Trump.

Her Hindu religion would definitely harm her in the general election,
This one line is enough to rule her out from this race. Plus Americans are not ready to lead by any women who believe in Eastern religion-Sanatana Dharma(Hinduism). Which entire western world failed to understand and still scratch their head (Even Indians) when talking about this particular faith.

I intentionally didn't mention this because I am an outsider. so didn't want to comment on that. Biggotic country- Yes no doubt about that. Every country does some level of bigotry at some point so can't blame them. And i would like to add one more thing in our discussion which I have shared in another thread. @theymos might remember this. @bluefirecorp_ Just out of curiosity. do you think that Americans are ready for Asian background candidate to lead their country as a President? Andrew Yang is American but culturally only. and it applies to another Asian politician as well, to name a few Bobby Jindal, Nikki Haley etc.

Trump is only nominally Christian, and he has a lot of evangelical support. If people like the candidate, most of them don't care much. When I drink my little wine — which is about the only wine I drink — and have my little cracker, I guess that is a form of asking for forgiveness, and I do that as often as possible because I feel cleansed.

Isn't it funny that most of these so called democrats have policies that is bad for a democracy? Take Julain Castro for example.. I can't even fathom why people even listen to him.

Well I am not US citizen, but due to the sad fact that the situations of US internal politics and governmental policies affect globally, then I would rather see Democrats to win in the next election. I like Bernie Sanders, he has many fans here in my country Indonesia. But I guess he's just too old to rule, regardless he is very well reputed and competent. I mean, it is quite contradictive towards the trend where there are many aspirations to give more chances to the younger generations to take the lead. I am too interested to Elizabeth Warren and K. Harris. Above all, I wish US citizens would have a good and peaceloving government, and the whole country all over the world too. All of us are getting tired of these seemlessly endless conflicts everywhere.

Are you enjoying watching the Democratic talking heads exploding? I think that the Democratic Party may come to an end if the Sanders wing wins. Neither the corporate Dems nor the Labor Dems can stand their identitarian, intersectional view of the world. The corporate Dems know that their money will dry up and the labor Dems know that they will be sacrificed at a heart beat for the next cause de jour. The dem talking heads lack a certain animation IMO, while a few provide some quality entertainment the GOP talking heads are, generally speaking much more entertaining. The entertainment value during the Obama years was some of the best shit ever! I keep thinking if Obama did 1/10th of the shit Trump does it would have been like a nuclear holocaust down there! Bernie isn't going to end the democratic party lol, he is the reason the party is talking about progressive policies, the old fart understands that things like health care, fair taxes and sustainable energy shouldn't be that hard for civilizations smartest, richest, bestest country... The GOP will survive Trump and the Dem's would survive Bernie. The question is would the GOP survive President Sanders?!

Romney came close. Many people, including atheists like me, do not consider Mormons to be Christian. Mormons are not monotheistic. If we divide religions into monotheistic, polytheistic, and so on. And Christianity is a genus in the family monotheism then Mormons are not Christian. And, the US is bigoted compared to whom? And, in what way are they bigoted? Because a large percentage, compared to Western Europe, are religious?

The labor wing of the Democratic party is leaving in droves - and Trump captured a large portion of them. There is a major realignment happening. I used to think it would be the Republicans that would split first (Libertarian vs Social Conservatives) but it looks as if the Dem Party might beat them to it.

I genuinely respect your respect for elders: however you can probably use just regular respect on the forum :-) There's nothing cliché in what Theymos said: it is how it is right now As for "fractured parties" ? Trump IS the fracture in the conservative republican party. He does not hold himself to typical core values-----------------------and no, it doesn't seem to matter and yes it's entertaining and disconcerting at the same time. I watched Trump on a couple seasons of the Apprentice, saw him speak at a real estate wealth seminar, saw his Trump University spiel, read one of his books a decade ago (where he talks about being bankrupt---it was inspiring to me at the time). He was born into every advantage, to call him a respected businessman; as if he has some special business acumen is a stretch----a damn good salesman, marketer and entertainer. I did not dislike him before he became president and may have enjoyed moments in the past when he mentioned running but this man is playing identity politics like nobody's business and what is being identified with has taken us many steps backwards. If we don't change the way politicians are running our country then... Trump will probably win the next election and when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is old enough she can entertain us as another bombastic madcap presidency while availing herself of all the new liberties Trump will make available for himself and future presidents. Good luck to us ;-)

The problem with identity politics is if some one else decides to play them you don't have much of a choice, you can be inactive but you are still in the "game". It seems to me the left is just pissed they got beat at their own game and simply refuse to acknowledge the reality that they lost power, and continue to lose power the further left they push.

Well if you want to go waaay back probably our founding fathers when they stated the self evident truths as being that "all men are created equal" Except that they literally meant "men" ----> women couldn't even vote You could own people and the original occupants of the land were [and I'm quoting here] "savages"
Some very high ideals were laid out in our founding documents and we don't seem to be interested in even trying to aspire to that anymore?
The more government control in our personal lives: the less freedom we the people have and we have been thoroughly distracted because instead of figuring out how to reign in the ever growing government we are wasting time disagreeing with each other.

The GOP wouldn't survive president Sanders. Neither would the USA.
People were saying the U.S. wouldn't survive Trump, yet here we are. People have been saying the same thing every election about every candidate they didn't like, forever. The reason we're still here is because the presidency is now more of a figurehead type position. Once a president takes office, 95% of their ideology falls to the wayside as they become encumbered by forces ensuring maintenance of the status quo. Apparently pointing out reality now days makes you a dick.
No, its being a dick that makes you a dick.

Thanks, -Its old habit - and thanks for the advice I will keep this in my mind next time. We can respectfully agree to disagree on the "Cliche statement" Everyone has a different set of experience in their life and my statement based on my observations. Right or Wrong? depends on the situations.
