LOL why?

because there are that many shitty crooked people out there... I have the space for what I have and I have the space to add hundreds if not thousands of miners - just need the power.

Many people live in areas with expensive electricity and don’t have that available for an option. With the electricity rates in the European countries I’ve been to for example, I don’t think any mining operation would be superior to just buying BTC.

exactly and if I could not have it on my land and in my facility - I would not have it. I do not know anyone anywhere I would trust to host my equipment - to me, that is the same as cloud mining and pretty much pointless, better to buy the BTC then pay someone else to mine with my equipment.

because there are that many shitty crooked people out there... I have the space for what I have and I have the space to add hundreds if not thousands of miners - just need the power.

So why should anyone trust any company to host their equipment, bitcoin miner or no? There are reputable hosting companies, you just do your due diligence, like any other business.

You yourself have said your plan to build a datacenter is to rent the space out to other people and "also use it for housing miners" with your attitude you would have no customers because you are an unknown entity and might be viewed as one of those "shitty crooked people out there..." I doubt you are, but you can see my point.

I've been mining with my gear with various hosting companies for over 5 years, once it became unprofitable to mine at home, and without experiencing these shitty crooked people you speak of. Oh I know they are out there you just gotta steer clear of them.

Similarly you have to have to steer clear of shitty crooked people who will  rip you off when buying and selling equipment, you don't want a repeat of the "fiasco with one buyer that cost me over 10k" so I can understand you being a bit gun shy of trusting anyone.

You live and learn with this stuff, like anything. But you shouldn't cut off your nose to spite your face, it could be that its more profitable to use a hosting company than try and build or run one yourself.

you missed the point entirely... I have trusted and lost - and trusted and won. But as long as I can host at my location my own equipment I will - other than that I will buy BTC direct. As for the data center, yes that is my dream to do - but it would not be based on the sole idea of hosting miners - the miners I have on site would all be mine. The rest of the building would be used to operate as an actual data center for companies I already work with and have developed relationships with already. This has been a goal of mine even before I thought to also use it to house ASIC's/gpu mining rigs.

I am glad you have had good experiences and never encountered any bad deals. But spend some time on the forums or even off of them and you will find a lot of cases where people have been ripped off. I, for one, will keep my equipment on site or just buy BTC. I do not nor did I down or criticize/belittle anyone who would do otherwise.

Nor have I cut off my nose to spite my own face - there is no hosting company that would pay me  a profit over what I already make.

I have tried overclocking but any changes to clock or voltage seem to be ignored. Without SSH access overlocking is not successful yet

I'm trying to find info about s17 airflow (CFM). Did someone measure it or at least measure the wind speed going in and out of the miner? The fan's model will also help.

Getting new gear with great difficulty  is fine it creates fomo.

fomo makes for higher coin prices.

coins are at 7700.

viabtc is paying pps+ at 104.61%  no variance risk  which means blocks are 13.07625 btc.

variance is moving up  over 13% this jump.

we are set for a bull run.  all old gear may hold value and simply go up in price.  the 200 usd s9 with a psu will move to 300.

Bitmains new s17 pro 53th  is a mofo beast.

I get 55th with 2225 watts = holy shit.

bitmain actually put S9j's up on the site this morning for a little over 300 a piece.

yep  and they will sell.

they may not have lots of the s17's and they can mark them up like mad plus restrict sales of them.

Cranking up FOMO like mad.  offordscott got me one  and it is so good it is amazing.

55th at 2225 watts middle speed.
40th at 1480 watts low speed.  this is touching on 3x better then the s9  as I had some s9's that did 13th at 1350 watts.

My garage power cost
in the summer is 18-19 cents  with cooling adjustment
in the winter is 10-11 cents with heating adjustment

the s17 at low power uses about 36kwatts or

3.60 to 4.00 dollars at 10-11 cent power
6.48 to 6.84 dollars at 18-19 cent power

it is earning 11 dollars  so I could say why not buy one for my garage

if you project it at 55 th and current price at viabtc it earns 55 x 0.00003923 = 0.00216765 btc or $16.61 a day

spends 54 kwatts or

5.40 at 10 cents
5.94 at 11 cents
6.48 at 12 cents
7.02 at 13 cents
7.56 at 14 cents
8.10 at 15 cents
8.64 at 16 cents
9.18 at 17 cents
9.72 at 18 cents
10.26 at 19 cents
10.80 at 20 cents

yeah you turn a profit at  20 cents a freaking kwatt!  diff is up 13%  but lets analyze   make diff do back to back jumps of 12% then 10 percent

so 6.704 x 1.13 = 7.5755th  and then x 1.1 = 8.333 th at this point  we are at an alltime high  but   the 16.61 is about 13 and that still is a profit at 20 cents.

We all know  20 cent power should not be a good number to mine with.  So if and when  enough s17's sell  along with m20's

diff will finally move up a lot.

I was checking the site like every 45-60 minutes - I knew they would open up sales due to the current batch shipping tomorrow.... but did not foresee or think they would now be sold out until August.... although they did lower the prices... I would have bought two of the T17's.

Well done by bitmain.  Now more people are being consumed by FoMo.

The only rescue for  them would be a price tank to 5555 a coin.
