yes, because anonymity is already a risk of cryptocurrency, it makes sense that fraud often occurs. The fraud and failure of a project in my opinion depends on our luck. most people must have checked it and thought it was good, but still they could be fooled.

Yeah theres a lot of scammers roaming around. Thats the worst part of being anonymity this case is not new at all. But if we cant make them pay for what they did, maybe we can prevent the scammers. I think you need to research and you need a tons of it. Plus dont give em money unless they reveal themselves and you dont have any proof that they were real.

Maybe the best thing to do to eliminate scammers is to be aware of ourselves of what we are getting into or participating with, the more people aware of this, the more scammers wont do to scam anymore because of people awareness, maybe thats the best thing we can do, to educate ourselves.

I totally agree with you. The way scammers get away free these days is alerming and no one seems to care. 90% of ICOs are scam, no new investor hearing this will like to come in. Something should be done.

Not only ICO even real time banks also scamming the users for that we are moving out of using bank means that is no sense. We need to take pinch of salt in the sea likewise we need to pick the right ICO while we are planning to invest.

To stay away from scam ICO you just follow the scam accusation board frequently on daily basis. Then I am sure you will not be trapped with any scam ICO projects.

Just ask others to invest in project which is legit and worthy of investing. Investing without a proper research is what had given them a honeypot to steal. Spotting scammers and catching wouldn't solve a problem IMO.

Just give them no way or chance of stealing your funds and that will help to decrease the no. of scam projects we have right now since they will lose interest at some point of time.

Maybe first that we can do is care with others. I mean, this is a forum. If we not really agree or maybe think if a project is not good for people, i think we free to discuss it in their thread. And people who really care with their investment, must take research from it and then can decide want to invest or not.

The best advantage and the worst disadvantage of crypto transactions is anonymity which makes it near to impossible for finding the real identity behind these fraudulent activities. Before investing in the project checking the whitepaper, asking questions from team members are old tested ways to detect scam but it doesn't work anymore.

Even on this forum you can find scammers as well as trustworthy users. Kindly take time analyze every person as well every ICO before investing or participating bounties.
Here are some information you need to do must check for every ICO.

Read the Whitepaper
Analyze the team images using search on google(Whether it is taken from shutterstock, picasa or some random images)
Core idea of the project
Track contract address and confirm whether the transactions are real or not
Check for plagiarism on whitepaper or techpaper. Then it is suspious and it may done by the random whitepaper maker
Get connected to their most active community channel like Telegram or Discord. (See their updates and monitor for somedays)


I believe these things are enough to confirm whether the ICO is scam or hasslefree.

Why OP have to force someone if they don't want to join? Just accept the fact that there are people who will still keep doing bad things just to take advantage of other people. If your friend/s wants to join he may have to find a way to get in and not to give you some stupid excuses. Don't you think people are not making way to let those scammers go behind bars?

even if the justice system catches scammers, it is usually very difficult to return funds to users, and in my opinion, it is not possible at all.

There is no regulation and that's why some scammers get away with it. More scammers also invade the crypto world cause they know they will always get away with it. Advice your friend to invest in already established projects and not upcoming ICOs, to avoid same thing happening again.

This is one proof that we need regularization and legalization right now because without it scammer are free to do something illegal without any disciplinary action by law. If regularization and legalization will implemented scammer will going to afraid because government will have rights to make a law to punish scammers.

The question is if people will still not fight it being regulated, fine it can be legalized, but I am sure people will still have issue with its regulation, because majority of them feel that once it is being regulated by the government, they will still be able to monitor their transactions.

For me, I don’t have any issue with government monitoring my transactions because I have nothing to hide, the speed cryptocurrency payments has brought solution to slow and third party involvement is more than enough for me to continue with the system for the rest of my life. So if regulating it is what it will take for these crypto scammers to be wiped off, then I am in full support of it.

I think it is the wrong mentality that people foster when they say that "since I have nothing to hide, I can share my data" that is such a bullshit! It should be YOUR CHOICE if you want to show something or not.
