This risk seems like its paying off. Well deserved 3% for IPOminer. Wouldn't have seen this opportunity

We weren't blocking any transactions on WATER coins overnight, but transactions over 15k were initially failing, and then transactions over 1.5M were failing, because of a bug in the WATER wallet code. We updated the wallet code a few times with various iterations of newly released code overnight to try and resolve those issues + stay current on the pending fork at block 8000.
It seems there are multiple different versions of code on the network, and several forks. We have >400MH on the network, but everytime we find a block this afternoon it is clearly on a different fork...
I switched port 3426 to mine against the multiport (currently on NLG) for now until we can resolve these issues with WATER.

We started getting a checkpoint error this morning, and were apparently mining on a fork for a little while. I temporarily re-routed port 3426 to mine the multiport, which is currently NLG. It is now active on WATER again, after resync'ing the blockchain.
Transactions over 1.5M will still likely fail, so try to withdraw before you have that much or email us to resolve your withdrawal manually.
We are mining for a while again and... no reward. What´s going on? no reward till arriving to xxx block?

We've been on and off of WATER recently.. trying to resolve the issues with it. All the blocks we get are being orphaned currently -- I'm adding more nodes and just added suchpool's node directly since they are the other biggest pool on the network.

Just noticed that the multiport is on WATER -- I'm guessing you know something that other people don't?

Doesn't look like it, back off WATER and all of the gains from those blocks are gone.

The profitability for WATER is through the roof right now because of the "bugged" block rewards being 450x higher than normal (~450k per block instead of 1000), and the devs seem to be decided on letting the blocks stand but are patching the reward back to 1000 at block 8000. Although that isn't guaranteed yet, blocks have been being mined and sold on exchanges so it has been very profitable if you have been able to mine/sell.
There have been major problems with their network though -- the other largest pool is suchpool, but they were on an outdated version and have been causing our blocks to be orphaned because they have more than 51% of the network. I was working with their pool admins to get direct node connections between us setup and get them onto the right version of the wallet code, but there still seem to be issues and we/they keep forking from each other.
We're working on it... you'll see the main multiport and the direct WATER port switching as we try to fix it.

Thanks for the feedback. On the other hand it could be good to switch multiport to any other coin when we´ll arrive at 8k on WATER as NGL profitability seems low. Maybe going back to ECC would be a good choice as POW will finish in 2 weeks.

Its like you read my mind, barean We are back on ECC on the multiport, as the price of NLG has been falling today. We've also redirected the WATER direct port (3426) to the multiport as we haven't been able to resolve the issues with it. You'll probably see problems with withdrawing WATER due to the poor condition of the network and the developers' buggy wallet code -- hopefully the network will stabilize and improve post-block 8000 as everyone upgrades and things calm down. If withdrawals/transactions aren't processed in the next 24 hours or so, we'll look into processing them manually, but doing that now isn't likely going to help.

The WATER network is a huge mess right now, with multiple different bugs in the wallet code, multiple versions released in the past 24 hours, and at least several different forks currently. It also seems like there are official nodes broadcasting incorrect checkpoints or using older versions. On top of all that, the developers haven't been responsive at all on IRC, github, or in their announcement thread.
We'll do what we can in terms of processing withdrawals, even if it involves manually rebroadcasting them, but we're going to wait at least a day to do that because of the condition of the coin's network currently. Send us an email tomorrow if you're still having issues with withdrawals and we'll look into it then.
There have been multiple updates to their github source, which we've followed in updating, but the network is in a terrible state at the moment. We've been closely working with suchpool, the other large pool that has been mining WATER, to resolve them. We've sync'd our blockchains, established direct peer connections between our pools, sync'd up our node lists, etc., but it hasn't helped. We're getting checkpoint errors indicating a fork, which would seems to indicate that there must be an official node/checkpoint server that is broken somewhere.
The wallet has been showing a total network hashrate of 1.1GH/s, when suchpool had 1.4GH/s and we had 1GH/s on it...
Hopefully things will eventually get back to normal with the WATER network, but there isn't anything more we can do at the moment. We've rerouted the WATER direct port (3426) internally to the multiport, and won't be switching the multiport back to it.
The coin will likely be dead in terms of mining in <100 blocks at block 8000 anyway when block rewards go back to the normal 1000, unfortunately. Hopefully we'll be able to get transactions processed at least -- we've stopped mining it both on the multiport and direct 3426 port now though. Port 3426 now reroutes internally to the multiport which is mining ECC now.

Not that it affects our mining now, but just to keep everyone up to date on the latest WATER news -- apparently their developers screwed up again. Block rewards from 7000-8000 were 500x what they should have been, and now, their "fix" which took effect at block 8000 has turned into another mistake. Now it is paying *zero* block rewards because of rounding an int instead of a double, it seems. Now they are talking about another update/fork on a future block, possibly @ block 8500.

Yeah, we've definitely given up on it from a mining perspective. Just a question of staying up to date on it to make sure people can withdraw their WATER coins, assuming the wallet code and network health allow for even that.

Noob question: what exactly is supposed to happen with ECC (reward and prices) when this change takes place?

I was curious why the price is expected to go up. Will the reward/difficulty change, making them "harder" to mine? Or is a coin with POW just more attractive than a POS?
