I think it is the right choice to setup a defensive side here.They are playing in a neutral location which should be a boost for them and a minus for Leipzig.Although I love Spanish football this time I am with Leipzig as I think they are one of the big surprises of this year in the Champions League.I know though that most probably Atletico will go further however in the first minutes of the game Leipzig is playing better.

Right now they are doing very good even they are very new and have no experience like Atlanta but still giving tough time to team like Atletico hopefully we will watch very good match Ateletico with strong defence is capable of going in next round like PSG but this could be good experience for Leipzige which help them in coming years in Champions League.

Yeap, it's typical ATM. In every big stage they only know how to bus park in their defensive area and look for a chance. But Simione should not follow the same method against this team Leipzig. They will have the chance if Morata and Felix come in. But I think ATM is going home after this match. Let's see.

Well, I don't think so that loss against one of the best Bundesliga teams is something embarrasing. Hats off to Nagelsmann who did amazing job with Leipzig in these few years.
Atletico were favorites, but I wouldn't call their loss as surprise. It was battle of similar level teams and I think Leipzig were slightly better tonight.

I wonder why people have problem with them playing defensively. Yet it might not make the game interesting but I dont totally see how it is relevant though  . All that matters is if they win the game but unfortunately they dont. I also dont see how they are going to attack with Leipzig playing that aggresive though, all they could do is pretty much wait for the right moment for counterattack so yeah it looks kinda boring but there isnt much choice

Not all people think like you, bro. And not all people seems a defensive strategy as a problem. It is a part of the football match strategy and ever used by Inter to win treble winners. To me Atletico's loss was not a surprise at all. They play rough and dirty football, so much simulation. Lots of teams have problems with that, but Leipzig's greatest strenght is the coach.

He is young and brave and demands the bravery from players and that was visible in this match too. Boys were not afraid in duels at all and didn't react on provocations. WIth mindset like that Simeone's dirty approach does not affect you that much.

I know this is more psychological, but that is equally important as tactics and strategy in football. What type of players you have and what you put in their head makes a lot of difference on the pitch.

I won't be surprised it they go through to finals with kind of approach.

Why do you think Leipzig can defeat Atletico, mate? I think Atletico should have a bigger chance of the match. If we look at the quality players, Atletico is still much better than Leipzig. While for the match Barcelona vs Bayern, it is actually unpredictable as both big teams with almost the same quality in their players. Although Bayern can win the match, I believe they won't be easy to win it. The match should be a tight match.

Ateltico is definitely the team with higher quality players and also more experience in UCL, but I still think Leipzig has a chance in this one. The fact that there is one leg being played and it's on neutral filed is advantageous for teams like Leipzig. The team with better performance during the day of the match is going to win. Honestly it could be any of them, it's not like Atletico is a big favorite or something.

Of course Atletico Madrid is much better in experience and quality than RB Leipzig. So I'm like most people will bet on Atletico's win.
Especially if you see Atletico Madrid's last 18 matches without defeat this makes me increasingly confident that Atletico will beat Leipzig

As I said, it was anyone's game to win because of the fact that they are playing one single match and it's also in Lisbon with no spectators. It just happened that Leipzig was the better team yesterday, they had more chances and they won.

The same thing applies for Barcelona Bayern match. Both of the teams won easily their last match, and honestly I don't know why Bayern is such a big favorite in this one. I mean Barcelona odds are at 3,5 but I think it's going to be a close match with lots of goals being scored. Probably a 3-2 for either of these teams.

Yesterday the benefits of the UEFA champions league knockout being a one legged tie for the underdogs what shown/seen. Nothing should be taken away from Leipzig the controlled the score line -never went down to althletico Madrid- but I think second leg allows for reset and reform for teams, and this gives pressure to the underdogs team, we almost saw the same with Atalanta vs PSG but for a late come back, now Manchester city has to learn from this against Lyon.

Not surprised at all. Leipzig has been known to attack while Atletico is more on the defensive side. Lots of star players mean nothing if you're just defending and aiming for a counter attack. From the stats alone you can tell that Leipzig is 'better'. Things might be different if ATM play an attacking football and press Leipzig like crazy.
