A bad start by the Indian team on day 3 against England as they lost 2 wickets quickly. Rohit has been out of sync from the first test itself and you cannot expect Jaiswal to always score for the team. Shubhman Gill and Iyer are batting and no one expects them to bat well as both are out of form. I won't be surprised if these two get out early with only a few runs on the scoreboard. The lead is only of 179 runs and India would need to get up to 300 runs if they want to win the second test match.

He's getting lucky, which he needed with his poor form and he shouldn't waste this opportunity and make the most out of it, just bat big.

The Indian team's first-day score in the second Test match against England seems to be enough to get them going. India went into bat on the third day losing two wickets but the run rate they are increasing is really high which will be very difficult for England to match. However, if England's batsmen fail to meet the target in today's match, they must lose the second Test match. It was kind of life saving innings for Gill, his first 50 in 7 tests. Indian survived first innings because of Jaiswal 209 runs. To retain his slot in test, Gill to play an innings like that. India lead at the moment is 273 runs and to make it to safe zone they need to score 127 more runs, so England have to chase 400 runs target. Unless India make some silly mistakes, its nothing to worry for them.

Gill survived and he is doing well compared to what he did earlier. Axar and Gill should get into a good partnership and add another 150 runs to the existing lead. The current lead is 287 runs and if they can play a full day today then the lead will go beyond 400 runs, if not then at least another 150 runs will do. Patidar being unlucky or not will be decided by the coach and the captain as of now things are not going in his favour and especially very bad for Iyer. This is the third time that he has got out so cheaply in this test series.

India managed to collect only 60 runs on the second day, ending India's first innings at 396 runs. Jaiswal scored his sixth match double century in his Test career today. Apart from Jaiswal's individual innings of 209 runs, no batsman could make any advantage for the team. England are batting in the second innings, England's score is 155/4 at the moment. Despite scoring fifty runs in the first and second wicket pairs, Jasprit Bumrah quickly took the wickets of Ollie Pope and Joe Root and sent them to the dressing room. Stokes and Bairstow batting may put England under pressure if their wicket break is not prolonged. If India can break the fifth wicket partnership quickly I think India can start the second innings with a lead of over 100 runs.

This is not a time for Jaiswal, he was out at 17 runs but I think that this time Shubman Gll do something, he is a moody player if Shubman Gill wants to play so they play like no one can play like this and when he didn't want to play so he also play like no one can play much poor than him, while in the first innings of the Indian team, Jaiswal made 209 runs which was a very good motivation for him to start his career and in second innings, he was out by Anderson and by the way in the first innings, he was also out by Anderson. Jaiswal age is equal to the Anderson career in test cricket.

By the way, the Indian team now lead by 321 runs and they have enough time and wickets in hand to take the lead close to 500 runs and then declare the innings. I do not think England will be able to chase this big target set by the Indian batsmen. Also keep an eye on Shubman Gill's probable century, he is on 88 not out now.

Shubhman Gill at last reached his century after a long bad batting streak. This century would give him a confidence boost and would help him regain back his lost form. Thanks to one lifeline that he got earlier he utilized it to the fullest to get to the position he was aiming for earlier. India has a good lead of 344 runs after losing 4 wickets earlier. Both Gill and Patel now have a good partnership and if they continue in the same manner the lead would be above 400 runs.

India 201-4, 6 wickets still left and already a lead of 344 runs, I think we can expect minimum 100 more runs here, so England gets around 450 target. That is going to be a huge total, and they might be already hopeless when they come to the crease, India bowling isn't smooth sail either even in absence of Shami, Jadeja and Siraj.

Tom Hartley's magic not working in the second innings of the second test. He got only 2 wickets till now and his 7 wickets haul in the first test looks like a fluke now. Axar Patel got out before he could reach to his half century, he missed by 5 runs. 6 wickets have gone and the lead now stand at 365 runs. I have a feeling that Rohit might declare after tea, if India gets to a convincing 400 runs lead. They need 35 more runs to get their and with wickets in hand it looks possible.

Others are waiting to grab his position and cement their name in the national team. This kind of batting performance is not acceptable in International cricket.

Lol, Gill gone and India fell apart, in first inning Jaiswal and in this one Gill was holding the strings together. It seems to me that players after reaching certain milestone (100-200 runs), play loosely and give up their wicket. Now, It'll be a good scenario if India is able to give even 400 runs lead and it'll be a doable chase for England.

Regarding KS Bharat, I hope selectors see the incompetence and replace him with Dhruv Jurel, I want to see how he fares.

The first time Bharat debuted he was good behind the wickets but has the same batting issue. If I am correct he was part of the team that was playing against Australia. Don't know a lot about Jurel, if he can bat then it would be good otherwise India can check with Rahul whether he is fit to WC in the next test.

The Sri Lankan team has so far collected 410 runs and the team is still in control of the wicket. Afghanistan team's batting performance was very poor and lack of reliable batsmen due to which they fell all wickets to collect only 198 runs. Afghanistan team is not able to perform well in terms of bowling at the moment, because Sri Lanka team has some reliable batsmen, if they can get them out, Sri Lanka team's performance will slow down. Mathews has scored 141 runs which is the highest score for a Sri Lankan team.

Sri Lanka managed to collect only 29 runs on the third day. Sri Lanka took the lead by 241 runs. Naveed Zadran took four wickets for Afghanistan. Afghanistan is now batting in the second innings. Afghanistan's opening pair, Ibrahim Zadran and Noor Ali batted with great patience in the second innings. Afghanistan have taken 103 runs for no wicket so far in the second innings, Afghanistan are now 138 runs behind. There are still 39 overs left to play today. If this wicket holds up, I think it can make the difference in the match.
