I am still checking results and trying to figure out how West Indies won by 8 runs. i see a newspaper where published a news about this test match and written that: West Indies got first test victory from Australia after 27 years later. But already have a lots of similar incidence in cricket history where a weak team had defeated their strong opponent team. In 2nd inning, west indies only made 193 runs and i doubted that they would lost but Australian batsman falling wickets randomly except Steven Smith, is only one who made 91. Actually Australia was very close to win but fortune supposed west indies this time what makes them won the test

Extraordinary bowling from WI bowlers in second innings that restricted Aussies from reaching the target. Shamar Joseph got 7 wickets in his 11.5 over spell. Steven Smith was lonely warrior in Aussies second innings who kept one end while wickets kept falling from other end. Aussies were just 2 strokes away from victory when Joseph bowled out Josh Hazlewood. WIndies have a night to enjoy, the won after 27 years in Australia.

I am really shocked because of indian team defeat as I really believe from start that due to home ground edge they gonna easily tackle any kind of trouble just like they has done in first innings after crushed down England batting line-up but I think single phenomenal innings of Ollie pope really disturb thier tactics and concentration. I am feel really soory for pope because he missed one of historical innings against India by few runs but it's ok because it's part of the game and all those innings of yours are worthy who make your team out of danger situation. Anyway subman gill should be kickout from T20 and test squad because he is currently completely off colour and instead of him Kohli should be a better option at both formats. I was also thinking that India will perform like they performed in first inning. And thinking that they will win this match easily. By the way here I will not blame Indian Batsman but I will appreciate the bowling of England. Especially Tom Hartley. What a bowling by him. He collected 7 wickets and in both innings he collected 9 wickets. Congratulations to England team. They played really really really well.

Indians are crazy for cricket and any player who perform well in one or two games is taken to sky by Indian media and cricket fans. Gill is very new to cricket, he has played only 21 tests so far and has only scored 2 centuries along with 4 half centuries. Give him some time before calling him best or over hyped player.

21 tests: 42 innings? How many more chances do you think he deserves? He is a great T20 and ODI player for sure, but he hasn't really performed consistently well in the test format which is why he is overhyped for sure.

Didn't watch both matches till the end, but I was shocked to see both Windies and England winning their respective matches since they were the underdogs thanks to Hartley and Shamar Joseph.

India clearly missed Kohli while Gill is proving to be an overhyped player to be frank. Also, Smith and Pope deserved getting a century and double century respectively. Crazy stuff!

I agree partially because sometime back I already talked about this India is doing few things wrong with white-ball and then quickly turning into red ball can create problems as current generation players are not capable of doing things like we have from the generation of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma so they need to work on this but sadly mad about money board not doing anything and just using them like money making machines so with this all results like these are expected.

Sudden absence of Kohli is surely big setback for them because now they have no enough experienced players which can handle this test format pressure, and they bundled out cheaply against an English spinner who was playing his first test even Indian spinners fail to do any magic in second inning which is another setback for them.

Team India lost an easy match against England. After performing so well in batting and bowling in the first innings, it was beyond imagination that India would perform so badly in the second innings. In the first innings batting and bowling performance of the England team, in their second innings, India performed exactly like England, due to which, despite creating great chances in the first innings, in the end, the team India was defeated by England in the first test match by 28 runs.

In the first innings, Indian batsmen were seen batting with confidence but in the second innings we noticed something opposite. Cricket is a game where a match can go in anyone's favor at any time. Ten good deliveries are enough to turn a match. On the other hand, if two to three batsmen can settle on the wicket, many difficult equations become easier. India's first innings batting and bowling all together but second innings batting bowling fielding was in England's favor compared to India's first innings which decided the win or loss of the match. Till the third day it seemed that India would win this match but on the fourth day we had to change our thinking a bit and come the fifth day we saw England seal the win against India. As five Test matches will be played between India and England, both India and England still have a chance to win this series.

I would call Indian team had a very bad luck that they lost to England in the first test against India. England won the match by only 28 runs as the Indian team were all out at 202. Has they be able to make just 28 more runs, it would have been an easy victory for the Indian team. I think many people must have lost the bet on this match lost by the Indian team. When gamblers know that India only needed under 250 runs in the last innings, most of them would have bet on India at that time with high amounts, but they didn’t expected this outcome of this match.

I loved the last test match, despite us ending up on the losing side. It's been a while since someone tested the Indian team so for a change it was a nice experience.

Having said that, I don't understand why Jaiswal, Gill and Iyer started their inning with the defensive mindset. Stroke playing and being proactive with the bat is their strong area but for some reason, they went into their shell, quite a surprise to see Jaiswal going defensive.

After seeing the first innings score of both india(436 runs) & England(246 runs) team, many of us thought that there will be no restriction for india to win this 1st test match against England. But when 2nd inning starter, Ollie Pope is the warrior who alone change the whole game himself, 196 runs scored by his bat only. I feel bad for him as he struggled from start to end of the match but miss his double century only for 4 runs. Nut still there was chance for India to win because they had giant score in 1st innings but unluckily no batsman performed well in 2nd innings. Legendary bowler Tom Hartley just stopped Indian players within 202 runs and he himself collected 7 wickets in 2nd innings which is epic.
