Tbh, I am impressed with their performance after last fight, especially Shehan Jayasuriya, he can become a promising all-rounder for SL in the long term, hope Srilankan board can utilize his talent and I might put a small amount on Sri Lankan team if the odds are too good to ignore. But, I still think they can't win against Pakistan in the ODI. Maybe there is some chance in T-20 format, chances are thin but who knows...

I actually think the reverse can happen(Sri Lanka drawing the ODI series and losing the T-20 series) since we all know how powerful Pakistan are as a T-20 team sitting right on top of the rankings.

However, this could be a great chance to find some talented long-term sportsmen for Sri Lanka like Hasaranga and Shehan who could prove to be apt replacements for the main players in the future. Also, can anyone specify why Shaheen Afridi was not selected for this series?(Loved his bowling in the World Cup).

Pakistan might have won the match but I think they failed to impress everyone during yesterday's match. Sri Lanka on the other hand showed some fight with its newbies. If they hadn't lost the 5 initial wickets, I think they would have had a fighting chance of winning the match. So, I think betting on Sri Lanka on tomorrow's match is worth the risk

In the end, Pakistan won by 67 runs, which I would regard as a very good margin in ODI cricket. Although the match was not as one-sided as everyone would have assumed, Pakistan still won by a convincing margin. Only the 6th wicket partnership saved Sri Lanka from complete humiliation. That was also the lone bright spot for Sri Lanka. They failed in every other department, including bowling and top order batting. Also, the so called "second string" side sent by Sri Lanka do contain some experienced players, such as Lahiru Thirimanne, Isuru Udana, Danushka Gunathilaka and Nuwan Pradeep. So it is not a "rookie" side, as the media would like to portrait.

It was Pakistan home ground and expected to sweep it easily but with some courageous fight we got to see something worthy else it could have being just one sided match with no interest at all . Srilanka would like to give more chances to this youngsters which will help them in future .

Many of you are predicting 1:1 series draw which means that Srilanka is all set to win the last ODI. Think again. They lost first 5 wickets quickly which means they lack good batting. They did manage a good partnership in the late middle order but this miracle cannot happen in every match. So i still think Pakistan have better chances of winning the last match too on paper and on the ground too.

I would never ever take risk with Sri Lanka seeing their current team combination and form. The players just don't know how to play. Even the second ODI was a meak effort from Sri Lanka if exclude the knocks of Dhasun & Shehan the rest of team fell like a domino. I say that even Afghanistan looks a better team than this Sri Lankan Squad.

You need to find a determined Sri Lankan Nationalist who is ready to bet on this team.  No one is going with Sri Lanka for tomorrow seeing that 2nd ODI encounter. I think they should thank rain that first match was wiped out and this saved them from a clean sweep.

Bro, you need to read a context before replying. i suggest please check the last 8-10 response. We are not making any predictions for the next game but discussing possible scenarios according to SL performance.

Odd for Sri Lanka is tempting @5.60
If one can take a risk of 0.005BTC then they will end up making a lot with it if by any chance Sri Lanka wins. Pakistan is very unpredictable team and that is why in the other thread I thought to pick one with most fours for Pakistan.

I am hoping Babar Azam will perform again for Pakistan.

For me, the result is not important, I think it's a good sign to comeback cricket in Pakistan, Really nice to see the ODI match at Karachi. Pakistan and Sri Lanka are both well-wishers for themselves and so Sri Lanka didn't refuse the offer to play in the so-called abundant country in terms of cricket. Whatever the case is, Cricket has returned all the way and Pakistan should provide maximum security for their visiting team so then other countries will get impressed to go there to play cricket. The most important thing for me is security reasons which are a vital barrier for not going there.

Maybe the bowlers didn't try to put good effort after taking 5 wickets? PCB is already being criticized for forcing unknown/less-experienced players of Sri Lankan team to come for the series; if they all had been out on less than hundred runs, PCB would've been criticized even more TBH.

I don't think that you watched the entire match. Sri Lanka got a respectable total because Shehan Jayasuriya and Dasun Shanaka batted extremely well under testing conditions. It is quite demeaning towards the Lankans if you argue that Pakistan allowed them to build a good total. At one stage, Sri Lanka was struggling at 28/5. But then, Usman Shinwari finished his spell and he was replaced by the spinners (Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan). These bowlers were not able to apply the pressure and the Lankan batsmen could build a partnership.

Well, I didn't watch the entire match. I switched the live streaming off once the Sri Lankans had lost 5 wickets; it looked as if Pakistan was playing against Zimbabwe or some 3rd class team. It's a bit surprising for me to see that Sri Lankans scored this much afterward.  Anyways, it's good to know that Sri Lankans have got some nice batsmen in their current middle-order; I'll watch their performance closely in the upcoming (tomorrow's) match!

Babar Azam is a special talent for Pakistan and if the board takes care of him and groom him to become the future captain that would be great as he has the potential to become the greatest talent from Pakistan after a long time and he is still really young.

There is not much of a difference between predictions and possible scenarios of who can win the next game.
I will stick to my point of view and will go in the favor on Pakistan for the tomorrow match. One more thing to consider is that Srilankan team consists of mostly new players and they will not be able to handle the pressure. This only will favor the home team.
Seeing the previous match performance, apart from Sh. Jayasuriya and Dasun Shanaka the rest of the Srilankan team was booked under 50 only. Don't expect them to do any different in the next game.

The chances are very low for Sri Lanka winning the 3rd ODI, but I have seen odds for Sri Lanka at 6/1. That means that if I bet BTC0.01 on them and if they win then I'll receive BTC0.07 (a gain of BTC0.06). If we go by the indications from the 2nd ODI, then it is clear that Pakistan is a much better team, in every single department. But do they have a 85% probability of winning the match? I don't think so. IMO, for the 3rd ODI, I would rate the probability of a Pakistani win at 75%. So anything above 3/1 is going to be OK to go for Sri Lanka. And as I can see, most of the gambling sites are offering between 5.5/1 to 6.0/1 for the Lankan win.

How can you say that their top order is weak through 1 match only? That is a very small sample size. Sri Lanka must have gained confidence in the manner in which they bounced back in the previous match which could help the top order batsmen perform in a better manner in the upcoming match.

There is no way Srilanka is going to defeat Pakistan in their back ground and that too with a weak team they have in this series.

No one can say for sure. This is why some people like me like to bet against the majority now and then. If the Sri Lankan top order batsmen get going and if their bowlers perform really well, this one could go to Sri Lanka in my opinion.

Today Sri Lanka doing very good job as they are batting first and second wicket partnership make some interesting contribution right now Gunathilaka is on crease with 78 from just 82 balls look like they have some good lesson from first mistakes if they able to touch 270 to 290 then surely this match is going to be very interesting as Pakistan is never been good in chase even they are playing against weak teams.

Can you believe it? Sri Lanka cruising at 152/3 after 28.4 overs, and looks like they'll easily set up a 300+ total. After their top order collapse during the second match, no one really expected such a performance from Sri Lanka. Once again, the Pakistani spin department has failed. They included Iftikhar Ahmed in the place of Imad Wasim, but this time also the spinners couldn't do much against the Lankans. And Wahab Riaz also looks out of touch. The only bowler looks like troubling the batsmen is the hero from the first game, Usman Shinwari.

There is a real chance of upset by Sri Lanka. Remember that the odds were really good for them (5.50-6.00). Those who made the bet are going to rejoice today.
