Today in 6th ODI match of ICC CWC League 2,, Netherlands won by 8 wickets against Nepal. I wonder about this result. Cause this is 2nd time Netherlands has faced Nepal in Odi Format. In 2nd ODI of ICC CWC League 2, Nepal won by 9 wickets where Anil Kumar Sah & Aasif Sheikh was enough behind of nepal to won. But today, See the difference! A huge changed in happened. Netherland bowling was too good and nepal only able to scored 172 runs with 50 overs. Kushal Bhurtel(66) did his half century and rest of top batsman out with low run rate. It was quite disappointing to see Italy losing against Kuwait yesterday. Italy had a great start in ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League Play-off, winning the first two matches. But yesterday they suffered a massive defeat, and as a result their NRR also went down. In case Kuwait wins against Bermuda today by a large margin, then they will finish at the top of Group A ahead of Italy. I wanted Italy to win, since the squad is dominated by natives. On the other hand, the Kuwait squad is 100% foreigner and mainly comprised of Indian and Pakistani citizens.

Netherlands is an unstable team. They have a good number of quality players, such as Fred Klaassen, Timm van der Gugten, Roelof van der Merwe and Paul van Meekeren. But these players are not always available for national team selection as they are contracted to the counties. So most of the times the Dutch are forced to play with second string players such as Vivian Kingma, Michael Levitt and Noah Croes. This is having a negative impact on their performance. On the other hand, Nepal is also suffering from the absence of Sandeep Lamichhane (he has been jailed and may never again play international cricket).

In terms of experience, perhaps Nepal was ahead of Netherlands. Because most of the county contracted players were absent from the Dutch squad, while Nepal was near full strength although Sandeep Lamichhane was absent due to obvious reasons. Anyway, I would consider Nepal as one of the teams on the ascent, while Netherlands maybe stagnating after getting thrown out of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. And even now, Netherlands is dependent upon expat and South African-born players (not ignoring the contributions from native players such as de Leede, Kingma and van Meekeren).

Kuwait won this match against Italy by a huge margin of 130 runs. Kuwait batted first and set a good total of 216 runs all out in 49.4 overs of the first inning. From Kuwait Mohammad Amin who earned the Player of the Match for his amazing batting performance scored 61 runs. Italy didn't play well and All out in just 86 runs in 25 over of the match and Kuwait won this over by a big margin. Italy needs to improve its batting unit and bowling performance to win the next matches.

Italy is once again struggling in ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League Play-off. They are at 138/5 after 31.3 overs, with Gian-Piero Meade and Wayne Madsen at the crease. Grant Stewart managed to score 33 from 12 balls, but in the end he got out to a delivery from Sachin Kumar. Now once again, the scoring rate is going down. Italy needs to score at least 200-220 to win this match, but I really doubt whether they can get there. They do have some very experienced and skillful bowlers, such as Stefano di Bartolomeo, Gareth Berg and Jaspreet Singh.
