It was quite disappointing to see Italy losing against Kuwait yesterday. Italy had a great start in ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League Play-off, winning the first two matches. But yesterday they suffered a massive defeat, and as a result their NRR also went down. In case Kuwait wins against Bermuda today by a large margin, then they will finish at the top of Group A ahead of Italy. I wanted Italy to win, since the squad is dominated by natives. On the other hand, the Kuwait squad is 100% foreigner and mainly comprised of Indian and Pakistani citizens.

Before the match started I thought Nepal would be able to win this match. I guess I actually underestimated the Netherlands team. They have shown a really good performance in this match. First of all, they were able to restrict Nepal to only 172. And after that, they were able to reach the target pretty easily. Netherlands won the match with eight wickets in hand and also 73 balls left. That was a big victory for Netherlands. And looking at that result, I will say that I have definitely underestimated the Netherlands. The next match they will play is against Nepal on the 28th. I hope Nepal will be able to take revenge.

Netherlands is an unstable team. They have a good number of quality players, such as Fred Klaassen, Timm van der Gugten, Roelof van der Merwe and Paul van Meekeren. But these players are not always available for national team selection as they are contracted to the counties. So most of the times the Dutch are forced to play with second string players such as Vivian Kingma, Michael Levitt and Noah Croes. This is having a negative impact on their performance. On the other hand, Nepal is also suffering from the absence of Sandeep Lamichhane (he has been jailed and may never again play international cricket).

Quite disappointing to see another native side (Italy) losing against one of the teams entirely comprised of expats (Bahrain). Batting first, Italy made 218. None of the batsmen could get to a half-century, although Marcus Campopiano, Anthony Mosca, Wayne Madsen, Grant Stewart and Gareth Berg all made sizable contributions. In return, Bahrain reached the target with 6 wickets to spare. Jaspreet Singh got two wickets, otherwise the Italian bowlers had hardly any success. Only Ronald Tari was able to get a respectable score of 48 from Vanuatu, and he is the only guy who made one 'six' for Vanuatu. However, his batting was also not very impressive cause he wasted too many balls to make that score. Everyone else was unable to do anything substantial.
Kuwait even gave away 22 extra runs. But in the end that did not matter because they were able to pick up all 10 wickets. A huge win for Kuwait by 228 runs to be exact.

But if we talk about the future, I am pretty skeptical about that. Because we have seen teams like these be very inconsistent. Condition great performance on one day and somehow they perform really bad on the next day. But they are definitely showing good signs
