Oman vs Papua New Guinea facing off in the first ODI of the two-match ODI series. Oman won the toss and decided to bowl. Now Papua New Guinea is batting, they lost four wickets to get 30 runs. Their team score is 64/4, 17 overs. Kaleemullah has already taken two wickets bowling 8 overs, also Bilal Khan has taken two wickets with 23 runs in 5 overs. Papua New Guinea need 250+ runs target to fight against Oman. Oman bowling line is very strong, I think will restrict Papua New Guinea to 180.

Papua new guinea batsman are not working hard and struggle and can not make run and could not gave hard target.Had their batsmen given a target of 250, they could have won the match.  But their batsmen did not work and struggle and will lose the match.  My congratulations to the Oman team for the win and may they continue to play like this and win matches.Oman's bowler has worked the hardest.  This is the reason.  That their bowler with hard work and struggle stopped runs and took wickets and got easy targets and won the match.

Similarly, in the second unofficial ODI match today, Papua New Guinea beat Oman by four wickets, which coincidentally matched the winning record of the two teams in the series. Papua New Guinea won the second unofficial ODI match to draw the ODI series 1-1.
Another T20 series will be held between these two teams they will face each other in three matches in the T20 series. The first T20 match between them will be held on March 6 at AI Amerat Cricket Ground.

This is amazing ending. I have never seen a match end like this before. Oman all team out 49 overs one ball . And Papua New Guinea complete the run target in 49 overs in one ball. Amazing but very interesting Papua New Guinea team player bowling prefromance well,  but Oman team is not a weak team either Sometimes luck doesn't cooperate, along with good bowling and batting performance, luck is very important.And here too something similar is being seen. The Oman  team played well but luck did not favor them.

I have a lot of fondness towards PNG, in part because their players are all natives and cricket is the most popular sport there (unlike the case with Oman, where all the 11 members of the squad are non-citizens). Repeated defeats to other associate nations means that PNG will end up with a lower share of the ICC fund allocation, which will further increase the gap between PNG and the other associate nations. Oman on the other hand benefits from increased funding (from both ICC and ACC).

Wait why are you disappointed about the performance of Papua New Guinea? Are you talking about the first match that they have played against Oman?

If you were talking about the first match then I guess you are all right to say you are disappointed. But that is not the case in the second match.

Papua New Guinea was able to chase a quite big score that was put on by Oman. And I also believe they did a very good job of making a recovery from updating weird situation where they lost three wickets for only 43 runs I believe. In the end, they were able to win the match.

Now the series is tied one-on-one. The next match is going to be the decider.

In another League 2 match between UAE and Scotland, Scotland easily won over UAE. UAE batting first were packed at 132 and Scotland chased the score with 8  wickets remaining at the 24th over. Of the two games played, they lost to both Canada and Scotland and are going to play a match each with them.
The performance of the UAE seems to be decreasing. Canada and Scotland are not the strong team in League 2. Netherlands, Namibia and Nepal are probably the better team and UAE was expected to compete with them but are struggling now.

Currie brothers have been impressive in the recent matches. But still I would have preferred Chris Sole in the team. He is someone who is capable of bowling above 90 mph consistently. He was one of the reasons why Scotland came so close to qualifying for the ODI world cup (before Bas de Leede smashed them all over the park to qualify at their expense). Anyway, all the Scottish bowlers were impressive. Apart from Currie brothers, Safyaan Sharif, Mark Watt and Chris Greaves also played their part.

UAE have played two matches in ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 so far and they have failed to score 200+ runs in one of the matches as a result of which they have not won any of the matches. In the ninth match of this league UAE batting first, they were able to score 132 runs for 10 wickets in conventional overs, chasing this run was very easy for Scotland. Weather is fine but As because of raining, overs were reduced. So UAE team needs to score 237 runs within 46 overs. Canada won the match against UAE by 8 runs using DLS method.  With this success, I fully hoped that UAE would have won the match if it was not for the DLS method.  Canadian players gave excellent performances and helped their team win especially H Thaker , H thaker very well contribute to win this match he completed his century and made 111 runs in 113 balls .  Is a sad time of defeat for the UAE, because if it was not for the DLS method, they would have had a different scenario because Because there were four overs to go and UAE needed just eight runs to win the match.

Well, it a match between two teams where in the national squad most of the players are not native

Anyway, UAE had a good chance. But they were unable to win. the strike rate of the players of UAE were really bad.
CP Rizwan was probably another reason why UAE actually lost. Well, everyone had a bad strike rate but the one that was done by him outshines others.
After the fourth wicket had fallen for the UAE, they lost wickets at regular intervals, which was the biggest problem

A loss by 8 runs was definitely very close. And it also must have been pretty heartbreaking. I honestly believe that the UAE had a real chance to win this match. But credit to Canada for being able to pick up wickets regularly. Also, credit to them for drying up the runs. These two are the only reasons why they were able to win this match.

Yes you are right Harsh Thaker did really well in the match and helped Canada win. He scored a century and took important wickets showing he is good at both batting and bowling. Without his help Canada might not have won the match. The UAE team tried hard to chase the runs but couldn't because of Thaker and the Canadian bowlers. Thaker deserved the man of the match award.

Afghanistan vs Ireland

The first ODI match of the ODI series between Afghanistan and Ireland will be played at Sarjah Stadium today.We had earlier seen the Afghanistan team lose the Test series by losing to Ireland by 6 wickets in just one Test. But we are optimistic that Afghanistan team will play better in ODI matches and they will be able to win. Afghanistan team is a strong team in ODI format and T20 format whereas we have not seen Ireland team win any significant number of matches in ODI format. Now it is to be seen how intense the fight is in the first one-day match between the two teams.

It is a 3-match ODI series and at least on paper Afghanistan is the stronger side. They are in poor form recently, but then Ireland is in far worse state. And then Afghanistan have the home advantage (the matches are being held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium though, since Ireland would not travel to Afghanistan). The advantage with Ireland is that their morale would be high after the test win, and also all of their star players are available, including - Paul Stirling, Andy Balbirnie, Curtis Campher, Harry Tector and Lorcan Tucker.
