If the Guam national team were to join the PBA as a guest squad, I believe they would be a formidable contender. Their height gives them a significant advantage, and in my view, they are stronger than SMB, TNT, and Ginebra without an import. It would be a mistake to underestimate them. Their recent loss to Gilas was simply because Gilas had a complete roster and a size advantage that Guam could not match.

The first game was played in Guam but it can be mistaken to be in the PH since most of the crowd in the arena were cheering for Gilas.

Well said kabayan, if ever that they'll enter as a guest team or if PBA will invite them I can agree that they'll bring good competition since similar to your observation, they've got the height and with how they are playing the game competing against our locals they got decent edge, and same with what I said before Gilas have a huge advantage as the group was formed combining young talents and then our naturalize JBL who carrying the load most of the time.

SMB vs TNT

My bets:
Converge -1.5 @1.83 - I just like the youth of Converge to overpower the veteran squad of Magnolia.
SMB -1.5 @1.89 - not much explanation, betting for SMB because of Junemar Fajardo and also the spread is not high.

I’m glad I saw your post, bisdak. I had no idea the PBA was already back, I thought they were ahead of the supposed return schedule, correct me if I’m wrong. Now we have Terrafirma vs Titan, both weak teams in the PBA (farm teams) but still a good game to bet on.

I’m thinking of betting on Titan since they’re down right now.

Of the two games today, both went over. Bad for me because I ended up losing my last bet. I won the first game but lost the second since I put everything on the under. Turns out they were scoring really well. Even though it was an important game, they didn’t bother playing good defense.

Titans won the first game, (108-111)
and Phoenix took the second. (98-106)

Looks like this thread has gone quiet, not many people betting on PBA games anymore? Hope you won your bet on Titan, kabayan. They were chasing but managed to catch up with Terrafirma at the end — the question is whether those 3 points were enough to cover the spread.

I just noticed the PBA website design has already changed. I don’t know, but I still prefer the old layout.

Anyway, let’s focus on the upcoming games. I like your picks, kabayan, but I feel like betting on the Magnolia Hotshots instead. They really need this win to improve their standing and it’s a good bounce-back spot for them. I can also see this turning into a defensive game, so I’m taking the under on this one.

Yeah, it was 1–1 in last night’s games. Magnolia had no trouble winning and covering the spread against NLEX. I also watched the matchup between Converge and ROS—Converge started strong, building a lead of up to 14 points in the first quarter. However, ROS’s solid defense on JDL shifted the momentum and made a big impact on the game. At the moment, ROS holds a 7–2 record, placing them at the top of the standings.

PBA 50TH Cup rankning. Looks like  the Terrafirma and Blackwater is far from getting the slot for  the Quarter finals.

Merlaco, Ginebra, Phoenix and Titan are the teams who need to win more game as The PBA will forward to quarter finals with the top 8 teams.
while the other teams are secured on the spot but still battling for the top 4 for the twice to beat advantage.

I can’t believe ROS is now at the top of the standings. This team doesn’t even have a legit superstar. Maybe this just proves Coach Yeng is really one of the best coaches in the PBA because he turned this young team into a contender. Now they’re playing with confidence because he actually gave them confidence.

In that win by ROS, Datu hasn’t even returned yet, but you can already see how well they’re playing as a team.

He's one of those good mentors who developed his players eversince, seeing his team moving up and showing decent performance means that they are being lead by coach Yeng to a good system and as we watch them sharing the ball and playing that hard game every time each players step inside the court, that's the performance that a coach wanted to see from individuals inside the team.

Though still far but the current acheivements already stating that they are really doing good, hope to see them continue that same level of performances each remaining games that they've got while nearing to the next round.

I couldn’t find the betting odds for this game either, but I think you have a point. The spread will most likely be high since this is already a no-bearing game for DYIP, they’re eliminated if I’m not mistaken. Meanwhile, Ginebra still needs the win so they don’t drop in the standings and at least secure a decent spot going into the first round.

Phoenix vs Meralco
This one is more interesting. Phoenix is starting to win games and they’ve finally found their go-to guy in Rivero. The coach is giving him confidence and he’s delivering. I want to see if he can still produce against a defensive team like Meralco.

This game has Meralco at -7.5. Even though Phoenix has been winning lately, it’s still not enough to beat Meralco, whose roster is clearly stronger. Rivero is still young, and Meralco’s defense can lock him down if they focus on him. Plus, with Bates protecting the paint, Phoenix will struggle scoring inside.

That's decent kabayan, and I agree Meralco have a better chance here since they need to win as the eliminations is nearing they may push this one and make it sure to move forward, if Meralco will force this one surely it will be a high scoring game and possible that they can cover that handicap for me they might win with double digit deficits, just saying! I am thinking to take a risk with Rivero

Good luck. That last game was a nice confidence booster for Rivero, but against Meralco this is definitely tougher. Still, covering the handicap is possible. This is really the only exciting game we’ll get tonight anyway. The first one was always expected to be a one-sided beatdown.

Even now, Ginebra is already up by 20 in just the 2nd quarter, so that one looks very easy.

Not what we’re seeing so far. Meralco started with a big lead, but Phoenix slowly caught up. By the end of the first half, Phoenix actually had the edge in points in the paint based on 1st half result. Let’s see what happens in the second half and whether Phoenix can complete the comeback and make this game exciting.

Congrats bro, 10-point win for Meralco and you cashed your bet. Me, I’m just even tonight. I already placed a bet on under 185, but while watching the game I got tempted to take Meralco over 98. I thought it was gonna be a blowout and they’d easily hit 100, especially since they scored 120 last time.

Turns out I was wrong. Just wasted the opportunity, could’ve ended the night with a profit.

First game starts at 5:15 PM, TNT vs NLEX. This one’s a must-watch since both teams are strong and can really go at each other.

Second game is Blackwater vs SMB. Honestly, this should’ve been the first game because we already know how this ends. SMB is going to dominate Blackwater. Still, I’m curious if they can break their biggest win this season. A 50+ point win would be crazy, make a bit of history.
