Meralco’s current lineup just looks too strong for this young ROS squad. Hodge is already back, and their center is doing a solid job protecting the paint. ROS still has a chance though, but that really depends on their outside shots falling. I didn’t see that last game, scoring only 79 points doesn’t really inspire confidence.

This will be aa tough night for both team, I really want to have ROS for the semis and I  picked them with +2.5.
Meralco have a bigger line up compare to ROS, Bates is a big factor on this. The young stars of Coach Yeng will do the night to enter the semis.

SMB CORP semis vs MVP semis.

Just like I expected, Meralco won again..  ROS just couldn’t close it out because they kept missing free throws. If they made even a few of those, they might’ve had a real chance. They were able to tie the game in the 4th quarter, but those missed FTs really hurt them.

Newsome was steady as usual. He didn’t miss from the line in the dying seconds, stretched the lead, and that was pretty much it.
ROS couldn’t come back anymore.

That was solid performances from Meralco, they managed to complete that twice to beat advantage by ROS, similar to what happened with Converge but it's not the same in terms of finishing the game, Meralco dominate the game from 2nd -4th quarter and complete the snatch to advance to semis, now, it will assure both MVP and SMC to meet in the finals, just the same old script from PBA, hahaha! Someone must start our season bet, This semi Final i love to pick SMB and Meralco, Can Someone arrange the this tournament?

I’m an SMB fan too, so I its not possible to bet on their matchup against Ginebra. But for the other semis, TNT vs Meralco, I’m leaning toward TNT so we can actually have a play there. It’s a best-of-seven series, so it’s going to be a long one. If you’re up for it, I can put $100  on TNT to win the series. What do you think?

They already had their chance, but they blew it. Both Converge and ROS were on a twice-to-beat advantage and still ended up losing both games.
For Converge, they could’ve wrapped it up already, but Ginebra just refused to give up. Because of that, I’d say Ginebra really deserves to be in the semis.

Better luck next time for Converge and ROS, but at least we clearly saw how much they’ve improved this season.

Indeed Kabayan, both independent teams shows good run during elimination but unable to complete their quest to advance to semis, still MVP and SMC managed to eliminate them and took away their chances.

For converge, they almost have it but Gin kings did not give up and keep holding forcing the game into OT and beat them in a dramatic buzzer beater 3 points basket.

While with ROS, timing was perfect for Meralco as Almazan and Hodge went back before the end of elimination round and sowcase their impact in that twice to beat games as Bolts complete their quest and went back to the semis and another chance for another finals appearances.

Datu was a big loss for the team, especially since they no longer have a big man who can space the floor. While the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters roster has shown some improvement, their inexperience is still obvious. They’re a young team, and I don’t think they can easily win a championship yet.

It’s similar to what happened with the Meralco Bolts. It took them many years before they finally won one, and that championship came down to a clutch shot by Chris Newsome.

I'm also interested to bet in the semis but we have the same pick . To be honest, i don't think Meralco could win against TNT. Also in the other series i think SMB will dominate Ginebra so it will be hard for us here to bet against each other as we have almost the same teams to back. Maybe in the Finals we could have a bet since TNT is a strong team that has a chance to beat SMB.

I don't want to use the word "pity" IMO because they played really well through the eliminations. I would rather use the word "disappointing" because of how they performed or at least I'm more disappointed on how ROS played in their last 2 games against the Meralco, but as for Converge, I can't say the same thing because they could've won that game IF only Holt didn't made that three to seal the deal for them.

Both ROS and Converge have young and talented players that can carry their own teams. It's just that they can't compete with the likes of those MVP and SMC teams out there. Credits to Converge though because they ALMOST beat the crowd favorite Ginebra on that arena where it's 90% filled with Ginebra fans. If only that happened then many will go back sad because their team lost. Watch out for these 2 teams though because they might be at one point compete against those big teams out there... or not. IYKYK.

Meralco vs SMB or TNT vs SMB, either of those matchups look good. SMB will be on revenge mode since if I remember correctly, TNT and Meralco both beat them in the All-Filipino Cup finals before. I think the Meralco vs TNT series is going to be long and competitive. As for SMB vs Ginebra, I don’t see it dragging out, max 5 games and SMB takes it.

With the way SMB is playing right now, JMF will dominate inside not sure if Aguilar or whoever will be assign to him will able to stop him, and if ever Gin kings will double him an outside shooter will be available and have a clear take that's going to be a tough series for them though there's always another side as they can compete since they've also got offensive arsenals who can hits those outside advantages though similar to you game might reach 5-6 and may end in favor of SMB.
