I’m really excited about this development, mate. It’s a smart move by the PBA to bring back guest teams like the Macau Bears, and I’m also hoping we’ll see quality imports joining the league. With no height limit on imports in this Commissioner’s Cup, it would be amazing to see Bol Bol in action. That kind of star power would definitely draw more fans to watch the games live in the arena.

The last time I remember Ginebra facing Bay Area in the Finals, it was really huge for the PBA, especially since Game 7, if I remember correctly, was held at the Philippine Arena, and I think that ended up being one of the games with the highest attendance in history. So for me, something like that will probably only happen again once we see another guest team that’s strong and well-funded at that level, because not every foreign team can really bring that kind of hype and competition.

Hopefully we will see another guest team who have that same level, since PBA was dominated by SMC and MVP once a guest team is fully funded and capable to bring decent stars, it will be a exiciting and entertaining games to come, though for sure those big known owners will bring their best reinforcement to make sure that they have the selection to compete to any guest which will be a big challenge if ever the one that PBA will add to the selection is someone who have a decent and competitive squad.

Cady Lalanne — Haitian import signed by NLEX for the 2026 Commissioner's Cup.

• Phoenix Fuel Masters:
James Dickey — Confirmed as Phoenix’s import for the 2026 Commissioner's Cup.

The 2026 PBA Commissioner's Cup is the second conference of the 2025-26 PBA season, starting March 11, 2026, and features imports with no height limit.

• Magnolia Hotshots :
Terrell Brown-Soares will reinforce the Hotshots in the mid-season conference that kicks off on March 11. The 6-foot-9 product of University of San Diego arrived over the weekend and had lunch with Magnolia coach LA Tenorio on Sunday.

• Ginebra San Miguel:
JUSTIN Brownlee will remain the face of Barangay Ginebra in the coming PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
The 37-year-old Brownlee returns for another tour of duty with the Kings exactly a decade since he first came over and played for the ever popular franchise as a replacement for the injured Paul Harris.

Jaylen Johnson as its PBA Commissioner's Cup import. Johnson is a former Louisville teammate of Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell.

I didn’t realize Justin Brownlee is already 37 years old. That means he’s getting up there in age, and since he’s our naturalized player, we might need to start thinking about a younger replacement soon.

In the PBA, he can still ball for sure. He’s still effective. But his real competitor lately was the import of TNT, which is Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

I am not sure yet about RHJ going to come back with his TNT family. But if there are better opportunities overseas and in the other leagues, he'll take that for sure. Yet, there's this news that's being released by spin that the TNT is going to sign Bol Bol of the NBA.

One of the noises that I've seen so far is about Bol Bol. So, let's see on how these teams are going to take these import of theirs. It's going to be loved by the fans if they ever get these players from the NBA that are not signed. They might also like the welcoming of fans since we like seeing players from there.

But Justin Brownlee isn’t even that tall, he’s only around 6’7”. Meanwhile Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is listed at 6’6”, but with a long wingspan of about 7’2”, and that’s why he’s very effective on defense.

That length really makes a big difference, especially when guarding bigger guys. And since TNT is known as a good defensive team and they also play fast, I think it can still work even with a shorter import compared to others.

He is the defending Champion (wiht imports) He deserved the contract. As per BOL BOL news, I think one of the issue here is the contract payment.

I don't think that's a fake news, it's a news from spin. But sometimes, things can change and negotiations could also happen mid way. There are sources that tell that they might sign him. And it is going to be a real one once he arrives in the country, we'll see.

If that Bol Bol news you’re talking about, I think that’s fake. That post didn’t even come from any official page. It looks more like a Facebook post from some fans just trying to get attention and grow their page. And honestly, it doesn’t even make sense. Why would they sign a new player when they’re still paying Rondae Hollis-Jefferson? That doesn’t sound practical at all.

So for me, that news is probably just clickbait.

Another update I saw today, it says the Bol Bol contract didn’t push through, so now they’re targeting Tacko Fall. That guy is 7’7”, even taller than Bol Bol I think.

Honestly, sometimes I feel like people just create this kind of news to entertain the crowd or gain attention. Hard to know what’s real and what’s just hype.

But I still have this feeling they’ll end up getting Rondae Hollis-Jefferson again.

Why are they hyping TNT so much lately? And why are those Facebook PBA fan pages not posting about other teams, but instead keep pushing TNT with some fake or exaggerated news?

Imports are really getting big now. Just look at the recent news about Phoenix Fuel Masters and Blackwater Bossing. Blackwater got a 6’11” import, and Phoenix has a 6’10” one. Compared to that, RHJ and Justin Brownlee are actually quite short.

The team I see that can really benefit from a smaller import is San Miguel Beermen, because they already have June Mar Fajardo inside. With JMF there, they don’t really need a super tall import anymore. They just need someone who can move, defend, and score.

I looked at the article and it was published in 2025, but it's April so technically speaking, he's still on a contract.

Now if the TNT will get him as an import, he must renew his contract as well, and that will tell everything. RHJ is now playing on Jordan, and he's their naturalized player already. I don't know if the Jordan national team will allow him to play outside of their country, but it's still possible for him to play in the PBA provided that both parties will agree to it. As of right now, the TNT still hasn't confirmed their import, and I will not be surprised if they'll choose to find another import instead of getting him.

This is obviously fake news, but Bol Bol now doesn't have a contract in the NBA, so he can play overseas. I wonder if the Commissioner's Cup has a height limit. Also, that came from Facebook which shows that it's a fake one.

I agree Kabayan, those kinds of post attracts more views that's why there are people who loves creating information like that surely they'll recieves clicks and views that may generate decent profits, like what the post above said, better to wait for the final announcement to finalize who's going to be their import, if RHJ is available then they might ends up signing him again, they already have the chemistries playing alongside each other much better to let him reinforce the team agian.

Talking about FIBA, this is not good news. Kai Sotto won’t be able to play this coming Feb 26 based on reports. It would’ve been really exciting if he was there, because our chances would improve a lot against teams with strong big men. Without him, it’s going to be tougher.

I guess Gilas Pilipinas will just have to play with puso, focus on defense, and be smart with their shots, especially from the outside. That’s probably the only way to compete this time.

That makes sense. If TNT Sports really signed Rondae Hollis-Jefferson to an exclusive one-year contract, it's natural that they want to make the most of his presence.

Especially since the investment was quite high; nobody signs something like that to sideline the player. At the same time, everything depends on the team's planning and how he fits into the rotation.

Now it's a matter of seeing how they will use him in practice, because a contract alone doesn't guarantee many minutes, but it significantly increases the chances of him appearing more frequently.
