Gambling as a profession: there's people who live out of gambling?

It is not easy at all and I think it is quite impossible to earn a living from gambling.When I was young and still studying in college I worked a few months in a sport betting and horse races casino.

It's not easy but it's not impossible, and only there are people who are extremely lucky in sports betting.

When I was new in sports betting, I really love to experiment and I even have accounts in every popular sports betting forum because I'm really interested to develop the skills the passion in me to be a sports gambler as I think it's a cool job back then, but like majority of people who tried, I think I also failed.

The chances for us to win in the sports betting will not be too big if we don't know how to pick the right sports because that will depends on how good we know about those sports. If we don't have any info or knowledge, then we will be difficult to win. And to develop the skills is not easy because it will need effort and practice in years so we can get the experience.
 

I saw people who claim to be making a living from gambling and stayed there from morning to evening but what I saw was that these persons got divorced,lost their jobs and started to borrow money,in other words was the end of their life.

That's not a good example of making a living in gambling, winning sometimes does not mean they can make a living, they need to be consistent and they need to probe that they are living a life without financial problem.

Yes, I don't think that they can make a living, but if they can win so much money, then they can make a living from the gambling industry. But that will be only a few gamblers who can do that.

That is the problem.No one is consistent enough in gambling to make a living out of it.The example with the woman who won 1.2 mln is an example of pure luck and not gambling skill.I still think this to be impossible because if anyone can do it many other persons can do it too but then sport books would not exist.

I also bit to agree on this, Well for me it is. It is a profession because you need to study a lot of strategies in order for you to be able to win the game. Yes, there's a lot of people who live throughout gambling and gambling is they're a source of income. Maybe we can call them gambling professionals because they are relying on gambling. I can prove this because one of my cousins was a gambler and he treats this as a source of income and yet he can make it.

That is the reason better keep it as a hobby since in that way, gambler would be able to enjoy their gambling every time they do it. They loss or they win, they will not be regretting it since they enjoy it.

Pardon my interference but it's not a wrong idea, people can win in gambling and they also have a chance to make gambling as a source of income.

I don't think not all of them. Though there are a lot of gamblers that earned a lot, there are still a lot of them that lost a lot. If you really have the skill, I encourage to gamble since it will create you instances and paths to success. They said that when you enjoy and like what you are doing, it is already a success.

learning how to handle your emotions is the most important part when it comes to gambling. i have lost so much when i was mad cause of some loses and trying to get it back fast... in the end i have lost everything. if i had stopped playing and going on with my strategies later... i think i would have  been more succesful. 

Yes. It is very easy advice to give, but not easy to follow.

We have heard from many pro-bettors that one of the hardest things is when you have a losing run a, and you start to think "what am I doing wrong?".... but you don't even know what you were doing right, when you are winning!

So "going back to the correct strategy" can be difficult, because many don't have a clearly defined strategy... they bet more on feeling.. but then how do you know when you are doing it wrong? Tricky... but then if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.

Obviously this ins't easy at all, otherwise, these gambling site are already bankrupt now.

That part on "it is quite impossible" is not really based on fact. I think you are just guessing.
It is possible that people are making a living from gambling but the number is could be quite small. I remember people saying thesame thing about trading cryptocurrency but I ended up realizing it's not totally correct when I started trading. It likely that thesame mindset exists in gambling world. People who are profitable could even become overwhelmed by pessimistic community and begin to doubt their skills

I don't think not all of them. Though there are a lot of gamblers that earned a lot, there are still a lot of them that lost a lot. If you really have the skill, I encourage to gamble since it will create you instances and paths to success. They said that when you enjoy and like what you are doing, it is already a success.

Yes lose and profit use to happen with the concern of the gambler if you will not gamble properly so you will be in lose but better never let your emotions spoil you just gamble it has allot of profit only be patient and try to gamble skillfully.  Be aware of those things which leads a gambler toward success after that you will get huge profit.

Yes, not always gambling will give you luck for your life, before everything runs out because gambling is a source of income for him, then having another business out there is a wise thought and it should be done. If I have the skills, I would always do this, I don't need to please other people or work for other people to earn my through a small salary, in gambling, this will answer all my wants in life and I will become financially free, IF... yeah, there's always a big if since chances are very low.

I have heard that term Professional gamblers a lot of time but, I have never come across anyone who claims that they live out of gambling. Gambling is a game of probability, which means either you win or lose. The chance of winning is not controlled by you, when you cannot control your earnings, you cannot live out with gambling. Therefore it is highly likely that you will find a professional gambler.

What are you saying? The reason it is called a profession means that people are earning through it as a source of income. That is like when parents are telling their children that they can't earn anything from playing online games and now million and million of money are being priced to these games and now being called esports.

I like that last paragraph. People don't seem to remember this when they argue that no one becomes successful through gambling. I have seen/heard couple of people who got super lucky playing lottery or sports betting.
But the funny thing about this whole thing is that once their life is changed in that measure, they completely abandoned gambling. This is exactly thesame opportunity millions of gamblers are wishing for.  So it is safe to conclude that few are successful through gambling.
