Not a success at all. Getafe could have pushed a little harder and scored another goal in the last minutes, but Xavi couldn't do anything in the second half, only rotating the defenders. There were the best wingers in the world who couldn't produce a position in the future. Without a striker like Lewandowski, the wingers can't go to score. Your reasoning about Barcelona may be right, or on the contrary, it may be deeply erroneous. Barcelona have had an extremely good run, not losing 11 games and winning one of them ar against Real Madrid with 3:1. The next really tough game is on 16 February against Manchester United. As I already wrote, Barcelona has the best defence international, in 17 games they have only allowed 6 goals. The handicap betting odds should be very low by now. Lewandowski should still score 15 goals in the league this season, so far he hasn't scored a penalty.

Or could it also be because Valencia won Real Betis with 3 goals in their home stadium that is why they are favorite against Almeria. Almeria will not be too easy to be defeated by Valencia. Valencia has won the most of their matches against Almeria where 7/9 of the matches have been won by Valencia in La Liga. I think this is good data to determine who is the favourite, even if Valencia's performance this season is not good.
You might consider it draw due to the current form of the two team, but actually Valencia is looking strong at home having won 4/9 of their home match this season. Meanwhile, Almeria was only able to win 2 points from their 8 away matches this season where 6/8 of the matches ended in defeat. So I guess you can find the answer from these facts and data.

IMO, Real Madrid is performing quite well.
