Real Madrid - Barcelona is still 0-0 for the super cup. I find it strange that two semi-finals are played in it. You always just have the winner of the cup against the winner of the national champion, don't you? I don't know who came up with this curious construction. It's extra matches for nothing. I don't know how much the teams value this, I think Barcelona values it more than Real Madrid because Xavi wants to win as many trophies as possible and Real Madrid has already won a lot in recent years. Especially internationally. As I write this, Gavi has put Barcelona 0-1.

Barcelona should just try by all means to end the match on the 1:0 goal score as there needed to win this match to at least serve as a motivation to the players and the club management this season.

At least it will be on record that Barcelona defeated all mighty Real Madrid, even though that has not happened yet and let's see what the outcome of the match will be.

I agree that the SuperCup is not a conventional championship, and I remember when I was a child that I had some difficulties too in understanding what this tournament was meant for. Some kind of consolation prize for top teams which didn't manage to win any of the more important Cups? An opportunity for the ones who won one or two of the other competitions, to increase the number of titles? A bit of everything, I guess.

BTW, half-time and Barça is now 2 goals over Real Madrid with 0-2 on the scoreboard. (Edit: like Falconer just said).

Things are not looking good for real madrid they way they are playing is really poor their midfield is out of service and barcelona totally dominated the first half it seems that xavi know how to counter real madrid very well but real madrid is a team that excel in comebacks especially in knock out formats so if anceloti manage to find the problem and fix it we might see a better and more competitive second half.

Barcelona is already 0-2 ahead of Real Madrid for the Super Cup. Still, a nice score at halftime, I think, for Xavi and his men. Real Madrid may not give everything to win this match. Interests for this club seem to me to lie with the CL and the national title. Moreover, in the final you also have to beat the winner of the other semi-final. And Atletico Madrid knew before the competition at low-flyer Almeria and it eventually became 1-1 there. A disappointing season so far for Atletico, but still plenty of chances to eventually finish 3rd. It will hurt the club that Joao Feix has left, they desperately needed him but seemed to have higher ambitions. And rightly so.

Frankly, I can't be good for Real Madrid. Yes, you're right, there are still 45 minutes. Ancelotti will try to make tactical changes and close the score gap. I wonder what Xavi will do here, if he tries to spread the game over time tactically it could be a mistake, I think they should continue to create pressure and position. When I saw notification from online about Real Madrid and Barcelona, I was mad at myself thinking that it is El classico. I had to rush and check for myself and understood that it is the Spanish cup and despite that Madrid fielded their best players just as Barcelona did, they are unlucky to be 3goals behind Barcelona.

Pedri scored the third goal to solidly their win against Real Madrid giving  Barcelonas coach Xavi, his first trophy and a much needed one at that. I along with others, I’m sure had thought that Real Madrid might just win the match with some difficulty but the game went otherwise as Barcelona had played and won the game with some ease.
Real Madrid defense was whack as they allowed Barcelona forward to continuously make attempts at goal and it paid off with 3 goals. Great game.
I believe a lot of people had placed bets on Real Madrid winning the game. That’s a bet lost.

The match was over and Madrid had to accept the fact that now they lost by a score that was actually quite striking.
My expectations were too high with the composition of the Madrid players in this case so I had to accept the fact that I had to lose the bet.
The performance of the two teams is actually still very good but seeing from their condition, Madrid really made a lot of unnecessary mistakes so that Barcelona took full advantage of it. Barcelona just won the first trophy of the Xavi era against their acre rival Real Madrid.
Madrid were totally outplayed by Barcelona in every aspect of the match. The score line doesn't even tell the whole story if you watched the match. Barcelona were so impressive. There where even glimpses of Pep's Barca at some point in the game. Barcelona linked up well, defended together, pressed together and even attacked together. They played as a team and left Madrid chasing shadows.
Congrats to Barcelona, they really deserved this. They were impressive against Betis until the subs ruined the game but xavi learnt from that and didn't repeat the same mistake today. Now they'll turn their attention to the league where the face Getafe without their main man, Lewandoski.

The match is over already, Barcelona won the match. They won with big scores, clearly seen Real Madrid isn't in a good condition. I don't know why Real Madrid defenders performed poorly lately, what's happening with them?    As far as I know, Real Madrid defense is one of the best defenses this season, but it seems over already. Since Casemiro left Real Madrid, there is a big change in Real Madrid play style. Ancelotti must be aware of this, he must fix this problem as soon as possible.
