Time for an underdog winner in La Liga maybe?

I wrote in the old thread that I believe Atletico Madrid will open the league in superb form and take 1st position. I am seeing them as winter champions and then it will be a question if they are able to keep it when Barca and/or Real start playing better in few months time. We could have a very interesting league this season.

Anyway, Trofo put me up there for Real...  Just cos I like Hazard.  Too bad he's injured tho.  He won't play for a month or so.

Done and little birdie just told me that Neymar is coming to Real. I really don't know what is in that guy head. You can't spend all summer talking about Barca and then leave for Real. Stuff like that doesn't make you very popular with supporter unless you score 50+ goals in the first season. If you are capable of that you can be world class jerk and they will still love you.

Well, well, well, Barcelona lose their opening game. I didn’t see that coming! Obviously it won’t cause too much of a massive problem in their efforts to be champions again but they must bounce back in their next game.

That match yesterday simply demonstrated that there is an over dependence on Messi... When Messi is absent, Barcelona's fear factor goes away too

Hopefully Real Madrid don't lose points too today.

Bad start for Barcelona losing points in their first match.
I'm just confused, whether Barcelona lose if without messi. This is ridiculous, because they already have good players in each position. I'm sure Barcelona will rise up in the next game.

It really hurts me as a Barca fan to see the way the team played last night, getting desperate with their shots even though they actually had the game in control. Even took me so long to finally write about it.

This was a long time in the signs already of course and we really need fresh blood. Fans say luckily Real are also in decline, but we forget to respect others like Athletico and Sevilla.

That is the beauty of football, and it should be like that. An interesting match is the one where the result is not predictable or if the result is 180 degrees different from what most people expected. After all, football is a team game, not a single or double match.

The defeat was not expected, but San Memes is not a turf where you go expecting easy victories, Athlectic Bilbao are a brilliant side who can hurt any opponent if they get the chance. Batca played much below par.

There's Puig, Oriel, Alena who are promising young talents. But the board has not been as efficient in managing young talents as it did a decade ago. Xavi Simon's was lost to PSG recently and others as well. The team now wants to buy talent rather than build.

Thats the thing with training players from the youth, in the end, things doesn't always pan out the way that you may want them to, Even with the La Masia academy their best exports so far are Messi, Iniest and Xavi trio and with the competitiveness of the La Liga, one can't simply wait for these players to develop and have to buy.

Why do you have to buy?
Because that's the instant way to get great players in football. If a club buys a well-known and great player, there is definitely an added value to the sale of merchandise. You can't just hope in the academy, because it certainly takes time for someone to develop again.

In some way money has ruined the tradition of having homegrown players especially in those top clubs. Clubs are now looking at investing in already made players who also have a lot of hype when it comes to sponsorship deals and other sources of revenue like Shirt sales.

Top clubs in the top leagues simply don't have that patience anymore to wait for a player to develop for 5-6 years from childhood and the most painful thing is to have your player develop only for him to be bought off by another club.

Look at Arsenal, they even don't produce young great talent anymore because of that.

The few clubs that try to do that get their players bought off as soon as they show some signs of a brighter future. Clubs like Dortmund, Monaco and the latest Victim being Ajax have all suffered the same fate.

The expectation on this player is on very high level.

Joao Felix game was impressive in pre-season.
Now it's only starting for the first week of la league, he will surely show it the highest level as the price.

For sure, I truly believe in him in my opinion he can be a Balòon d'Or in two or three years.

I agree with your thoughts. Who is the last player from academy who plays in starting squad of Barca? Sergi Roberto? There is so many academy talent wasted in recent years and hundreds millions spent in transfer market. And many times these millions been wasted. Alena, Puig is very talented player, but there is no guarantees that they will become future of Barca.
But I'm not concerned much about loss of Simmons. Yeah, he is great talent, but when 16 old teenager lesves team just to get a bit more money, it shows that not everything is ok with his attitude. But knowing that his agent is Mino Raiola it's not surprising...
Betis loss cost me some money. They got very early red card and weren't able to play good football against Valladolid. Not the best day for me, because also bet on Chelsea win earlier today. Hope thst at least Atletico will win. 20 minutes left and they're leading just 1:0.

Till 2 months ago I used to guess Real Madrid will be the champions of 2019-20. I expected Zidan to manage to win this season with. But now my mind has changed a bit. I still believe there's aprobability that Real Madrid will make it. But I don't faith in Real Madrid as much as before. Real Madrid's pre-season results were really awful. It doesn't seem that Luka Jovic can be a big goal scorer.
I also expected Paul Pogba to be brought to Real Madrid. So, I think, there will be problems in midfield too.
Now I think Atletico and Barcelona have greater chance of winning this season of La liga. It's really difficult for me to choose one of these two teams.
