Mm, I don't know if we were expecting Real to lose against Osasuna, they were still the clear favorites. Sevilla even, the odds were just about tight so clearly, Real (and Barca) are still by and large the favorites to win games at least in domestic competition.

They really aren't making it pretty on the eyes though.

They were favorites, but nobody is going to say they're going to win for sure this season. Just take a look at their results, and you'll know why. They don't play as good as before, got counter-attacked easily, and could've easily lost points one way or the other. Compared to two or three years ago they're in terrible condition now.

why do we have such big odds on Sevilla for today's match vs. Eibar?

it's a 2.35 on Sevilla (with price boost), it seems to me a good chance to make a good single bet

^  Look for Sevilla injuries.  Having their first loss vs Real last weekend could be a factor too.

Anyway Zidane's gamble paid off.  He played a with different set up vs Osasuna and rested his key players for the derby vs Atletico.    Should be good.

There are some statistics that maybe the bookies got a hold on and could explain why Sevilla have such odds: Sevilla have never won 4 consecutive away games in one season in the history of La Liga^[1]. It could happen today if they beat Eibar.

Both teams will be hungry for a win, Eibar because they haven't won a single game so far, and Sevilla who need to recover from that loss last weekend. I would go with Eibar ML, and probably parlay that with Real Sociedad ML, they've been really good so far, a win today will put them in 3rd place behind Atletico and RM in the league table.

The odds would be modified 15 minutes into the game depending on where the tides of the game flows. So the game might not be so attractive for a single bet if the odds drop lower.
I would expect Sevilla to win the game though, with their performances I've watched, they are a very good side on their day.

It's definitely happening today!

Sevilla looks very comfortable currently holding a 2 goal lead and there's just about 25 minutes plus stoppage time left to play. Eibar have been rather more composed since the 2nd half, but there haven't been much threat from them, Sevilla should easily see this out.

Messi injured again and new problems for Barcelona.
Who will replace him?
Who will be the Barcelona strikers in the next match with Getafe?
Luis Suarez, Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele?
Luis Suarez is in really bad shape but he will probably play.
Real dilemma is between Fati and Dembele?

Some people say that statistics don't matter in football, but god damn it that statistics about Sevilla that I mentioned earlier was a major red flag (to those going for Sevilla ML) and also worth going for a small but risky bet on a team that desperately needed the 3 pts (Eibar).

Yeah, odds had to be amazing, but I don't know who would risk to make such bet. After first half there wasn't any reasons to expect that Eibar can make amazing comeback and win this game. But in 2nd half we saw one-sided game. 2nd goal of Eibar - what a stupid mistake of Vaclik.
Today I have Real Sociedad to win @1.6 and so far so good - La Real leading 1:0 after 25 minutes.

Yeah, odds had to be amazing, but I don't know who would risk to make such bet. After first half there wasn't any reasons to expect that Eibar can make amazing comeback and win this game.

I watched only first half and the game looked firmly in Sevilla control. I wouldn't took that bet even if they offered 50/1. Just shows why we all love this sport so much.

You are right feeling same for Sevilla as they are doing very poor display in recent matches but most of peoples saying they have very long list of Injured players hopefully they will be ok in next few weeks but this could be very late for them as their recent form is bringing them down very quickly.

Sevilla 2-0 up all the way till 2/3rd of the game and then you let in three goals? 1 was a penalty for sure but looking at the highlights it could anyway have been 4-2.

Eibar has been defensively good at home matches plus Sevilla lost their key players like Yedder this transfer who were key players from them last season. On the other hand Eibar were running without a run so far so kinda predicted like a draw will be the favourable outcome but didn't expected them to win.

You should see how the top 4 (outside number 1 & 2) in Premier League last season.

This is football guys, things like this should be expected. There is no guarantee and each match has different circumstances. That's why winning a league is so difficult because consistency does not equal good players.

The way and level that this kid plays, shows us that Sociedad can aim into something special this season. Something really special. Maybe even more than Europa League qualification. What do you think?
