Last night was definitely a nightmare for Barcelona because they had to be eliminated in the last 16 of the Copa Del Rey after losing to Bilbao in extra time. This match was very fierce and Bilbao was not afraid in the slightest even though the opponent was Barcelona. In fact, a quick goal in the 1st minute managed to put Bilbao through Barcelona's goal and they were ahead for quite a long time. The attacks from both teams never stopped until Barcelona finally managed to reverse it with two goals before halftime. In the second half, Bilbao immediately launched their attack again and finally produced results by scoring the equalizer. Until the final minute the score did not change and the tie remained so it continued into extra time to determine the winner. In the end, Barcelona conceded 2 more goals which made the score end at 4-2 in favor of Bilbao.




According to OptaJose, Barcelona conceded 29 shots in this match, making it the most since the last time in the 2013/2014 season and of course this is no achievement. This is a bad record for the Blaugrana and far from expectations if they are one of the clubs that have conceded the most goals this season.

Marc-André ter Stegen's injury is the reason why Barcelona's defense is not as solid as last season. The defeats experienced by Barcelona and Girona were certainly unexpected because they were more favorites but they were the ones who lost. Mallorca and Bilbao and Real Sociedad have already qualified for the semifinals and today match will determine one more team between the Atletico Madrid vs Sevilla match.

I do agree with it. It's a very embarassing result for girona to lose against mallorca. It was a shame to see that how girona was conceding three goals in the first half. It was also making the situation become even worse. Girona failed to equalize the score and only managed to score two goals, which was not enough to extend the match into additional time. Barcelona and girona have been fucked by middle tier team like bilbao and mallorca. nothing surprise caused by these clubs is only performing good in the la liga.

Im only wondering what's the different between playing in the la liga compared to a competition like copa del rey. Barcelona has been showing another degrade since it was also losing against bilbao. I was aware when so many people were screaming after lamine yamal was scoring but the situation becomes different when bilbao was able scoring additional goals against barcelona. Xavi has been also releasing the new statement regarding the lost faced by barcelona.

Xavi have to leave from the club. He was a disaster for barcelona and laporta can recruit a new coach again. it will be making the situation far better rather than when xavi will be staying much longer in barcelona.

Because Barcelona lost by Bilbao in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey then yes, with Barcelona being eliminated in the Copa del Rey, it is certain that Barcelona this season is only trying to stay in the top four in the La Liga standings and will not get any trophies at all this season . Even though it's true, this season Barcelona won't get any trophies, but I don't think Barcelona has been completely destroyed. Because yes, at least Xavi still has a good effort, at least to make Barcelona finish in the top four, for me this is still considered fine and not bad at all.

Girona has been impressive this season, as I've followed them. However, Girona's chances of winning La Liga are slim given Real Madrid and Barcelona's strength and history. They shouldnt be written off yet. They've shown play that might land them a top ranking or the title.

Barcelona doesn't have a chance on the league champion this season because they have the worst performance and secondly the only club that will possibly make Girona not to become the champion of this league is real Madrid because they have very strong and capable players that's more experience than Girona.

If FC Barcelona can win their outstanding match, they will be five points behind Girona, who are leading the table in La Liga. And there are still a lot of matches to be played in La Liga that will decide which club will win the La Liga trophy, which will allow Barcelona to close the gap between them and Girona if they keep up winning their matches.

With each game Barcelona's performance is getting worse, I know that Barcelona is not yet financially stable, but that strategy of betting on very young players and the coach making a lot of changes to the team, makes the team perform poorly. The match wasn't really easy for Girona, I think fatigue is disturbing some of the players hence the reason for the poor performance this night and Mallorca was able to take advantage of Girona's weakness as they won by 3:2 for me I don't really blame Girona for losing this match because the players are human and they have the right to get tired and weak in some matches because it is not easy to maintain this awesome form that Girona started with and despite the fact that Girona lost to Mallorca but they made huge impact in this game just that luck wasn't on their side this night.

I see Girona put some of their main players in the bench, it makes them to play not optimally. It is more reasonable than fatigue, I doubt if the players feel fatigue because they don't play in many competition. As far as I know, Girona only plays in La Liga and Copa Del Rey. Ideally, Michel still uses their best lineup for this match, put all the main players in the lineup. They mush focus to score some goals in the first half, then Michel can change the main players with substituted players in the second half. I'm sure Girona must play better if they play with full team (best lineup).

However, we must appreciate the tactic used by Aguirre (Mallorca coach). He really takes the advantage and understand how to exploit it when Girona didn't play with their best lineup. You may actually be right about their lost not being as a result of fatigue but however, any team can lose a match no matter how consistent they're because sometimes, they can also face an opponent that understands their game pattern then they use that advantage on them just like what you said about Mallorca coach taking advantage of Girona not playing with their best line up in that game. Girona might not be in too many competitions but that doesn't implies that players doesn't get stressed out or tired due to a previous match they were featured in but not using the best line up to play Mallorca was also one of the reasons for their lost but however, they played very well in the second half but they were just very unfortunate to have conceived three goals in the first half as it isn't easy for any club to bounce back after conceding three goals in halftime. Though I feel that Michel not playing his best line up might be that they were actually underrating Mallorca because they feel they can win without using their preferable line up and it cost them their lost to Mallorca.

This is to say that no matter how you feel you can defeat a team, no club should be looked down on and coaches should always learn to play their best squad in any match at all if the players are fit to play rather than preserving them either for an upcoming match or bringing them to play later on, and when a match starts going wrong, even if you bring your best players they might not really be able to recover the damage that has already been done.

Barcelona Still have a very good chance at improvement but hasn't or is yet to go about it rightly as they should rather they keep blaming it on the financial strength of the club forgetting that if they keep blaming it on the finance of the club it wouldn't help the team get any better financially or even otherwise.

A few young players whom if we'll utilized could end up better players for the team there by building much strength for the team such that they will be able to build on their strength to improving their finance rather than the blames that is been thrown around, if you recall, at the beginning of the season they had a very good start where their performance was top notch and they were very close to staying at the top of the table, then they did appeared very promising this season until after lewandosiki had and injury and even after he's return they haven't been any better.

On 4th February I think the encounter between these teams is to be played and I think it is exactly this match that will definitely decide the fate of La Liga this season.I know that Real won away in the first half of the season at Girona 0-2 but I am not confident that they will be able to repeat that success despite playing at home this time.The reason being simple is that Girona is in a super red hot form now and this makes me think that this will be a final for them and they will treat as such.

Real Madrid shouldn't have won the last fixture though in the La Liga Competition. One can go ahead to say that they won the game with the help of the officials in charge of that game. Another game to see Real Madrid robbing lol.
I can recall the game between Real Madrid and Girona, Girona played well as they should have done but Real Madrid defense and defender's Rudiger and David Alaba did a great job to keep the great attack of Girona at bay..

Not that Girona didn't play well but they failed to beat the intelligence of Real Madrid defenders. The league right now is in between the hands of Girona and Real Madrid.

The performance of an elite team is determined by its players; if a player is not in good shape, the team's performance declines. It's a very natural thing, if you say something like that.  Even if we refer to H2H meetings between these two teams in the Copa del Rey competition, Barcelona has suffered two defeats at the hands of Bilbao. in fact, if I refer to match statistics, Barcelona played quite well.  despite the fact that Hector Fort, as Balde's replacement due to a suspected injury, played underperformed.
