We need a movie about Bitcoin

I remember four years ago when a project was launched asking to get funded through ICO, the team were asking to get funded so they can create a movie about Bitcoin which will star prominent actors and actresses, but the project was a big failure because they cannot present their identity and their credentials in making a movie, they cannot even present their past movie projects.

Can you please specifies which project was this!?or it’s simple a scam for not having legit team?Anyway who cares lol 😂

Now it's 2019 and so many things happen in Cryptocurrency, the news is everywhere and it becomes very popular on four corners of the world.
Don't you think these big production company like Warner Bros, Universal and Netflix should do a movie about Bitcoin?

This big companies needs profit they will not risk capital for no assurance movies yes they can even give huge budget for Cartoons movies things that I believe Crypto movies is much needed for future not just fantasy but what can we do it’s their money

Why not give a concept of movie?i rather believe that Documentary is much applicable so far because we are still in the process of telling people of what crypto is all about and I think the masses won’t appreciate if you will out Tom cruise acting for Bitcoin without him knowingly nothing about the said currency

Whatever movie comes with the name tagged on bitcoin or cryptocurrency I always love the documentary "RISE AND RISE OF BITCOIN" I believe most of cryptocurency users watched this movie.
I will never like other movies apart from this documentary which made big views and reach.

I spent $7 buying "Crypto" on Amazon. It was a thriller about a money laundering ring that utilized Bitcoin. It was probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I wish I could have those 2 hours of my life back....

If we had a movie with regards to the Bitcoin, i think it would be massive publicity for the bitcoin and it would more likely interested for the people has a knowledge of investing and cryptocurrency.Many people would have a time for them to study and research about bitcoin because of what they realized how powerful and good the effect of having a knowledge and involvement of bitcoin.

There will certainly be a movie about Bitcoin at sometime in the future. It is already made such a big impact on everyone, that that fact is inevitable. The question is when will it happen, and will the production quality be good enough? Will people be interested, or will it have bad acting, hopefully it is a smash hit, so even more people invest in BTC.

There is an upcoming one named "Sage Thief" which is  a Chinese movie that will be in their cinemas around October. At first I thought the movie was about criminals using cryptocurrencies because it was named "Sage Thief" but after watching the trailer it revolves around the crypto and blockchain industry itself. Now for the market watching itself I don't think it would be a success in terms of sales because I don't think a lot of people will be interested in watching a movie about cryptocurrencies.

Sadly that cryptocurrency today is very popular with illegal merchants. If chinese could make a movie with bitcoin, then why Hollywood producers can`t use this ideological mecca ?
It would be cool to see a mix of documentary and feature movie, where the main characters in the style of "Men in Black" would look for people from the most unusual situations related to cryptocurrency.

Watching movies is my hobby. If there is a movie about bitcoin I am sure
will immediately watch it, but most films about bitcoin herding
negative opinions about bitcoin itself, it pisses me off after watching it.

What is needed now is a movie about bitcoin that makes people lay
positive thinking about bitcoin, the impact of bitcoin will be increasingly known
and if that happens there will be many new investors. Bitcoin price automatically
can soar up. As an example of a movie about Facebook, The Social Network
which makes facebook assets go up or steve jobs movie that makes Apple assets go up.
Let's wait for further developments in the world of film, whether Hollywood makes films
positive about bitcoin. But I am a bit doubtful because bitcoin is not liked by the government
some countries.

A movie centralized about cryptocurrencies may definitely bring positive implications especially to bitcoin but this would depend also on how they portrayed cryptocurrencies as a whole.
If they create a movie about the dangers associated on the transactions of cryptocurrencies, this may further strengthen the stigma and branding about it. On the other hand, if they produce a movie explaining the positive implications to the economy and opportunities to the community, this would at least alter the mindset of the people about cryptocurrencies as a whole.

There is actually a Bitcoin film. Its name is Bitcoin Heist and it came to the theaters in 2016. But there is not a Bitcoin film that gives detailed information about Bitcoin. Maybe we can see it in the future.

The fact that some did not know about the existence of such film means that there needs to be an adoption of a movie in order to increase its reputation in the world. A movie about bitcoin is a double-edged sword depending on how they portray bitcoin either as a boon or a bane.

im with you  . i love to see more positive films that the negative one because i feel that it has an impact to the viewer but it was only a film right , its not personal at all so its okay if any genre's are produced but itll still gain attention mostly to newbies that never hear a crypto before  .

It wouldn't totally be a bad idea to make a movie about bitcoin and cryptocurrency. It is going to make a lot of people who are confused about it and who do no fully understands its methodology come to terms with it. But then the movie would have to be directed or scripted by someone who has an indepth knowledge of bitcoin and blockchain technology in general.

Note: This story is a fiction of the future. It’s not exactly what will happen to Bitcoin.

The year is 2140. A apocalyptic disaster hits planet Earth. Human civilization is wiped out. Humans die of starvation and disease. Bitcoin mining network is down. Bitcoin satellites are still flying around Earth. But nobody communicates to them. Hashrate dropped to 0. No new block is created. Pockets of human survivors are trying to make through their days.

Bitcoin is dead. Except, it isn’t. It’s just silent. Its enormous difficulty is still waiting for someone to mine the next block. But nobody can. Much of the mining infrastructure is destroyed. Bitcoin death prediction was wrong. Civilization can collapse but Bitcoin is still there. Without sufficient hashrate, nobody can attack the Bitcoin blockchain.

Fast forward 100 years. The year is 2240. Humans rebuilt their infrastructure. They are about to reach mining hashrate before the apocalypse. Some groups of humans are able to recover bitcoins from exchanges. Having centralized exchanges can be useful for recovery effort. The network is about to produce new blocks.

But this time, Bitcoin splits into 2 chains. Some people want to soft fork and restart mining rewards since so many coins were lost. The total theoretical supply limit of Bitcoin will be 42 million. Other people want to stick with the original supply limit of 21 million. The first group achieves majority. They took the domain name, social media handles. They anoint new leaders and proclaim themselves to be the true Bitcoin. The second group is angry. They rename their chain to Bitcoin Apocalypse to remind people that they are the Bitcoin chain before the apocalypse. And they also vow to bring apocalypse to the self-proclaimed true Bitcoin chain. Just like the forks that came before, Bitcoin Apocalypse will fade in memory.

Bitcoin is still not dead. It continues to live along with humans. It adapts to the majority consensus. It’s sneaky and controlling. It feeds and survives on human’s desire to fight and control. Bitcoin sheds its old self if necessary. It rules over the world of cryptocurrencies. Its existence seems to immune to human’s suffering and will.

This comes from two things I learn recently:

1. Hashrate drop to 0 is not going to kill Bitcoin. The network just goes to sleep.
2. Bitcoin doesn’t have to be completely decentralized.

The idea is good, but I don't think that the movie would attract a lot of people if it is too focused on BTC. It should have it as a major component, but ultimately, it should be about something else.

Bitcoin was shown in the background of Deadpool, and there's a movie about bitcoin named Bitcoin Heist. Tons of documentary is there and some articles about bitcoin, news about bitcoin is already spread enough. But if some big film industry will make a movie plotted to bitcoin I think it would be awsome and will create huge hype.

I think there were many documentaries about bitcoin, but if you are thinking about an independent movies, one will definitely help bitcoin. The problem with this is the production. First is who will fund the movie? Another thing is who will be the actors? Some must be recognized internationally so that it would attract curiosities because if not, it will be watched only by few. Another thing is the group that will advertise it to people. There are many problems not just these like the side theme,so it is really hard for this to happen.

There we documentaries and videos created about Bitcoin before. Most of them could still be found in Youtube. However, a new movie about Bitcoin could really be a great way to promote it. It will definitely serve as an eye-opener for most people who will watch it. It will take a lot of time, money and effort but it will surely bring a big impact in the blockchain technology.
